My Fav BLs (with some GL’s)
An ordered list of all the BL, Bromance, and GL’s I have completed, ranked from my PERSONAL favourites to least favourites with a plot description and short review of my thoughts. I will not include shows I’m currently watching or have dropped, nor will I be including separate cut/uncut versions, behind the scenes, or special episodes (with the exceptions of Our Skyy, HIStory, and My Universe).
—Reminder that each of my reviews are my own opinion, it won’t always be an accurate reflection of the series and while you don’t have to agree with my opinions, I ask that you’ll please be respectful! : )

201. Naughty Babe
Thai Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
I’m going to be super controversial here and say most of the people who hated on this series are just haters who came into the comment section knowing they weren’t going to enjoy this series and just wanted to spread negativity. Feel free to disagree with me, but considering the people I interacted with while this was airing, you’ll struggle to change my mind. This was honestly fairly good; it’s definitely not Domundi’s best production by any means, and there was definitely a lot more work and improvements they could have made, and I do have many criticisms, but some BL fans just hate on Domundi series only because they’re coming from Domundi. This series is a kind of sequel/side story to Cutie Pie the series. This focuses on the relationship and engagement of Khon Diao and Yi, including the misunderstandings, the car accident that caused Yi to lose his memory, and the struggles with family as the two work together to discover who was the mastermind behind Yi’s accident. This was so sweet, heartwarming, and easily had the best ending from any BL series I’ve ever watched, and I’m not at all exaggerating when I say just how amazing the ending was. In my opinion, the ending definitely made up for how simple and (dare I say) mediocre the rest of the show was. The acting and pacing of this series left a lot to be desired, but it honestly was not nearly as bad as the reviews make it out to be. Please try watching this series, as, in my personal opinion, it was just as good as Cutie Pie the series, and I think if you enjoyed Cutie Pie and come into this series with an open mind, you may find that you’ll enjoy it more than you expected to.

202. Falling in Love with a Rival
Chinese Drama - 2015, 8 episodes
This is a much older Chinese BL that was kind of strange but good at the same time. Personally, I think the novel that it was adapted from was so much better than the series version, but I still enjoyed watching this regardless. This series is about a man called Wu Suo Wei. One day his girlfriend breaks up with him because she wants to date a richer, successful man instead. In his heartbreak he decides to seek revenge by making the new guy she is dating, Chi Cheng, fall in love with him. This plan begins to backfire, however, as eventually he starts developing real feelings for Chi Cheng, who has also begun to fall for him in return. When I first watched this series, I quickly got bored and stopped, but over time I eventually decided to try again, and once I got past the first 2/3 episodes, I couldn’t stop watching it. Despite being a Chinese BL, they got loads past the censorship bans, and it was a cute little mini-series. I would absolutely say try it out, and don’t be worried if you are bored at first, because it does get better, and the ending is hilarious!!!

203. Mood Indigo
Japanese Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
Although I don’t think that this was as good as the first season, I did still enjoy it. This season is focused on the events before the series Pornographer. Here we look at the relationship between Kijima Rio and Kido Shiro, including how they met and how their relationship formed and fell apart. They first meet at a school reunion after the death of their teacher, and Kido offers to take Kijima home and ends up staying the night. Kido works in a company that produces pornographic novels and asks Kijima if he is interested. Kijima meets Gamoda Ikuo, a famous erotic novelist, who tells him he can take part in the production of a novel if he is able to make Kido cum (yes, you read that right; yes, it was very weird to watch and write about in this review lmao). After that sensual encounter, they continue a relationship less than lovers but more than friends. However, how long does that relationship last when Kido has a girlfriend of his own that he’s not willing to give up? Years later, when we reach the events after the first series and Kijima gets a boyfriend of his own, does Kido still regret not choosing Kijima when he had the chance? Although the first season was much better, I did enjoy learning more about Kido and Kijima’s past, so if you’ve seen Pornographer, definitely check this out. Chemistry is still just as incredible and sensual; acting is top-notch; overall, no complaints from me, lmao. If you’re interested in the rest of the Pornographer works, then I recommend starting with The Novelist/Pornographer, moving onto this one, then Spring Life, next watch Playback, and finally end with Spring Life Continued.

204. HIStory3: Make Our Days Count
Taiwanese Special - 2019, 20 episodes
Do you want to watch a light-hearted drama that slowly grows darker and depressing? Then look no further. I want to be clear before I start this review that I didn’t particularly enjoy this series due to the awful ending, but this is one of the most popular in the HIStory series, and you can also skip the ending and leave it on a better note, so even if you don’t like sad endings, don’t worry too much about that and ignore some of my negativity. This series is about two boys, Yu Shi Gu and Xiang Hao Ting, who are two very different people and hate each other after Hao Ting’s girlfriend starts flirting with Yu Shi Gu. However, when Hao Ting unknowingly starts to fall for Yu Shi Gu and begins chasing after him, their lives change for the better. In order for Hao Ting’s parents to accept their relationship, Yu Shi Gu helps Hao Ting study and apply for one of the top universities. Since Yu Shi Gu’s parents were killed in a car accident when he was young, he views the parents’ permission as a very important aspect of any long-term relationship. Meanwhile, Hao Ting’s best friend Sun Bo Xiang finds himself attracted to his brother’s friend Lu Zhi Gang, despite the 12-year age gap between them. This was a little weird to me since Bo Xiang is in school while Zhi Gang is a grown adult in his thirties, which is another reason why I didn’t really love this series. If you can look past those aspects, then this was so sweet and cute, with many intimate scenes, which is why it’s rated 18+, but the last episode was so bad that the plot was ruined for me. I’m not going to spoil it, but if you don’t like sad endings, then avoid the last episode at all costs. Depending on whether you’re watching the 10 episode version or the extended 20 episode version, you either want to avoid episode 10 or don’t watch episodes 19 and 20. Everything before that is super cute with some spicy scenes lmao.

205. Our Skyy 2
Thai Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
I was so excited when they announced they were making this, especially since I’ve seen all the series this was adapted from. These reviews are short and condensed into one. Never Let Me Go: Nuengdiao returns to Bangkok, and Palm decides to fulfil his every wish while he is back. But after meeting with a fortune teller, they find themselves in a past that doesn’t belong to them. This was cute, sweet and silly but too many plot holes. Star In My Mind: Daonuea, Khabkluen, and their friends decide to take a trip to Chiang Mai. The plot was basic, but they fixed some issues the main and side characters had in the series, so I really enjoyed it. The Eclipse: Akk and Ayan travel with some friends to help Wasuwat shoot his short film. This was another basic plot, but the vibes blew me away; this was one of my favourites. Vice Versa: Talay and Puen are living together when they find a child at their door calling them both Papa. The two worry this might be a child from when Tess or Pakorn were in their bodies. This was definitely my favourite story; I loved everything about it. My School President: an alternate universe retelling the MSP story, but each character’s personalities have switched. Despite the repetition, I really enjoyed their story and had so much fun with this. A Boss And A Babe: Cher feels that Gun doesn’t understand the lives of his employees, so they decide to switch roles and see how Gun manages as an intern, while Cher steps into the role of boss. This was so much fun; I really loved this as a cute follow-up to their story. Bad Buddy X A Tale Of Thousand Stars: when Pat and Pran want to adapt the story of Phupha and Tian, they travel to Pha Pun Dao Village to gain permission but end up walking straight into a lovers’ spat. Can they resolve things in time for the play to go ahead? This was my other favourite; the crossover was unexpected but amazing. I genuinely enjoyed all of these stories.

206. Call It What You Want
Thai Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
This was an amazing drama, not for the acting abilities or even for the chemistry between the main couple, but for the incredible plot that really drove deep into the corrupted nature of the BL industry. I believe this is a series that everyone should watch at least once. This drama is about a director named James who is given the opportunity to work on his first project by directing a BL drama. When introduced to the actors playing the main couple, he meets Ait, who he almost immediately falls in love with. The two feel an instant connection with each other and begin an on-set romance. However, it seems they will be facing constant hurdles to remain together and in love. This series really explores the darker side of the entertainment industry, more specifically the BL aspects of this, and the pressure actors receive from talent agencies. It digs deeper into the reality of the behind-the-scenes for these BL series and reveals more about the corrupted BL industry that is far from perfect. I didn’t think the chemistry between James and Ait was that good, and the acting from some of the cast wasn’t great either, but the plot of this series leaves such an important message. This, in my opinion, is absolutely a must-watch for all BL fans out there!

207. Be Loved in House: I Do
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
This is one of those series that starts amazing and ends up getting worse towards the end. This series is about Shi Lei, an employee at Seisei Studio which is gradually going bankrupt, so they decided to bring in a new director, Jin Yu Zhen, to help keep the business going. On his first day, he establishes a set of unfair rules, including a single rule prohibiting the employees from being in relationships. Shortly after working there, Shi Lei is forced to let Yu Zhen live with him while he tries to find a way to abolish the single rule. As time goes on, they begin to develop strong feelings for each other when suddenly a mysterious stranger from Yu Zhen’s past appears named Yi Zi Tong. Through his appearance, Shi Lei begins to discover the reason the single-hood rule exists in the first place and begins to wonder if the relationship he is starting with his boss is even worth fighting for. This had such a strong start, but as soon as Zi Tong appeared as the jealous ex, it just went downhill. Don’t get me wrong, it was an enjoyable series, but it definitely left me feeling a little disappointed. The acting and chemistry were top tier; the plot itself was fairly simple but still fun. I just hate the trope of jealous exes coming in and ruining everything so much that I couldn’t even feel satisfied with the ending. This series wasn’t bad, but it definitely could have been better.

208. Seven Days: Friday - Sunday
Japanese Movie - 2015
This is a sequel film to Seven Days: Monday - Thursday, so make sure to check that one out first; otherwise, none of this will make much sense. This film focuses on the final three days of Seryou’s relationship with Shino. For Shino, these days are wonderful but bittersweet as he soon realises that once he reaches Sunday, their relationship is going to end. But will Seryou allow that to happen, or will the feelings he’s caught for Shino this time finally allow him to settle down into a long-term relationship for the first time? This is such a super cute film, and although the ending leaves it on a bit of a cliffhanger, I think this was actually a great place to finish. A part of me hopes that they will make a third film, but since it’s been many years since the films were released, I don’t think they will. If you watched the first film and liked it, then you absolutely need to watch this one, even if you didn’t particularly enjoy its prequel I definitely believe that this was way better than the first and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!!

209. Why R U?
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
This started so well but unfortunately was ruined due to filming difficulties caused by Covid; however, I still did enjoy aspects of this drama. This series features two main couples. Saifah is Zon’s worst enemy; however, after his sister Zol witnesses them accidentally kiss, she begins writing fanfiction about them and publicly shares it around the school, so everyone begins shipping them. Outraged, Zon tells Zol that it will never happen between him and Saifah, and that if he was really attracted to guys, then he wishes for her fiction to become real. His words have more merit than he realises, and Zol’s fanfiction ends up taking over until Zon and Saifah begin deeply falling for each other. However, Zon fears that his love for Saifah is due to Zol’s fanfiction, which causes him to push Saifah away. The other main couple contains Tutor, a smart student struggling financially, and Fighter, a rich playboy who happens to be in a relationship with Tutor’s best friend, HwaHwa. They can’t stand each other, but after Fighter helps Tutor and asks for his help studying, the two form a deep bond. However, the bond begins to tear as Fighter’s selfish father takes over in an attempt to control his personal life and autonomy. We also have quite a few side couples from Zol’s fanfiction who make their way to reality, like JapanTanthai (senior on the football team and his junior who has a crush on him), DewBlue (senior bully of the football team and his junior that he picks on), Day and HwaHwa, Natee and Zen, and Soda and Junior. Everything from the main and side couples to the unique plot was enjoyable to watch. If only Covid hadn’t appeared, then this would probably have had much higher ratings from me, but unfortunately (although understandable) the series fell flat towards the end. I will say that didn’t stop me from crying on the last episode when they looked back to the past.

210. Senior Secret Love: Puppy Honey
Thai Drama - 2016, 6 episodes
The beginning of one of the most iconic BL couples in this industry, this was OffGun’s first ever series as the side couple!!! This is such a cute and light-hearted series to enjoy after some of the more heavier themed BL’s that have been released prior to this one!! If you are new to BL series and not sure where to start, then this always used to be my go-to recommendation, as it’s not as full-on as others and is a great series to introduce you to the world of boys love lmao!! This series is about two boys named Porsche and Pick, who are the leaders of a Dog and Cat club. Their club is about to close down due to lack of funding, so they try to get the principal’s daughter and her best friend Rome to join, but the only problem is she is terrified of dogs. Porsche decides to help her get over her fear, but in the meantime Rome and Pick slowly begin to develop feelings for each other without their friends knowing. This is a great enemies/rivals-to-lovers with a male and female main couple and the BL couple (Rome and Pick) as the side couple, but they get just as many moments as the main couple does. It was a super sweet show that completely broke down stereotypes to show that love can be between anyone! Off and Gun as Rome and Pick, was the best choice they could have ever made; their chemistry was so amazing that they’re one of the longest-running BL couples to date, proving no one is doing it like them! I still recommend this series even though it’s mostly out of nostalgia. I know that generally speaking it’s probably not the best “older BL” out there, but if you’re an OffGun fan, I highly recommend checking out where this all started, and I hope you enjoy it!!

211. Our Skyy
Thai Drama - 2018, 5 episodes
This was such a fun concept, and I’m so grateful for this, as we get to see more of our favourite couples again. This is a mini series where each episode focuses on couples from Sotus, Puppy Honey, My Dear Loser: Edge of Seventeen, Kiss Me Again, and My Tee/‘Cause you’re my boy, but with a fun little twist to their stories. The first episode is about Rome and Pick, who wake up to find out they have swapped bodies. Through this journey, they learn more about each other’s work life and friendships and grow stronger as a couple. The second episode is about Inn and Sun, who had a falling out and struggle to reconcile when a new man comes into the story. This is a journey of jealousy and forgiveness. The third episode was about Tee and Mork. Tee starts to grow suspicious that Mork is cheating on him, so he begins testing him to see if he’ll pass or fail the test, putting their relationship on the line. The fourth episode is about Pete and Kao, the couple meets an old woman who predicts that they will soon break up. Determined to prove this wrong, they decide to make a checklist of romantic things to do to keep their love alive. However, they spend so much time sticking to this list and worrying about the future that they forget to focus on the present. The fifth and final episode is my favourite, about Arthit and Kongpop. Kongpop has been given the exciting opportunity to work abroad, but Arthit worries that a long-distance relationship will tear them apart. Will they choose to keep their relationship going despite the distance, or will they give up on their love and end things once and for all? The only complaint I had was the story of Sun and Inn, because their story felt dragged out despite the short run time. Other than that, I loved all the others. Kongpop and Arthit’s made me cry, and I couldn’t stop laughing at Rome and Pick’s body-swapping shenanigans. Definitely watch these when you finish the series each of the couples are from!

212. Mr. X and I Season 2
Chinese Drama - 2015, 6 episodes
This was sooooo cute; I loved this so much, and I still can’t believe this was based on a real-life story! This is about a boy called Zhengxi who falls in love with his friend Tao Ye. But the problem is that Tao Ye is in love with, and soon starts dating, another girl who makes it her mission to keep Tao Ye and Zhengxi apart. Meanwhile, Zhengxi’s best friend Ai Tong has his back and stays by his side no matter what and supports him throughout it all. Despite the short run time, the plot was so well written with natural chemistry and beautiful friendships. I particularly loved the friendship between Zhengxi and Ai Tong, as she was an amazing best friend who was always there for Zhengxi whenever he needed her, and she always stood up for him. The ending was great; I was so happy with how they managed to spin the final few minutes. It probably won’t end how you expect it to, but I loved the ending couple, and I was crying throughout the last episode because of how sweet it all was! There were several interesting themes, such as exploring the experience of falling in love with a straight man, one-sided love, etc. Although the acting wasn’t the best, the storyline really draws you in, which is why I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested!

213. MuTeLuv: Diva Deva Mata
Thai Drama - 2025, 4 episodes
I have been so excited about this mini-series ever since the original pilot trailer, and it was exactly what I hoped it would be. The hilarious, campy humour was spot on, and I genuinely loved everything about this. This series is about a group of four students who run a YouTube channel together called Air Dolls. These girls are Nevia (the self-appointed leader of the group), Fews (the smartest member), Ingky (the aspiring pageant queen), and Katrina (the stupid and slow one lmao). These girls are so close to their channel hitting 100,000 subscribers, so they decide to pray to a goddess for help. Once they have fulfilled the goddess’s requirements, they immediately notice their subscriber count and luck have massively increased. They decide to set up a party to celebrate 100,000 subscribers, and they invite Pat, the school’s heartthrob who they all have a crush on, to the event. However, after Katrina accidentally vomits on a picture of the goddess, she ends up becoming possessed by the goddess. The other air dolls must fulfil the goddess’s requirements if they want any hope of getting their friend back. But what happens when the goddess finds a way to take over Katrina’s body permanently? Will the Air Dolls have any chance of bringing Katrina back in time? This was absolutely hilarious; the humour is exactly my style, so fun and campy that I was dying of laughter and cringe in every episode. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but I really enjoyed it regardless and highly recommend checking it out.

214. The Moment
Thai Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
I really love cute little mini-series like this, although there’s not enough time to fully set up and develop the plot and romantic relationships. Series like this often show the most beautiful love-at-first-sight scenes that always make me feel emotional. This mini-series is about a young veterinarian called Mok who travels to a hotel to get away from his heartbreak. There he meets Bay, a barman known for his looks and skills making drinks. The two of them decide to create their own version of love, pure and untainted from what they ever intended. Even though Mok’s stay in the hotel will never be permanent, can he find love in the short week he stays there? This mini-series was so cute, and despite how short it was, the actors really established themselves well. The acting and chemistry were both fantastic; I even thought the cinematography was impressive considering it is clearly a lower-budget series. The story is simple, but in my opinion, that’s what made it so great. Overall, while there are definitely some better mini-series out there, I highly recommend checking this one out and seeing what you think of it!

215. Mr. X and I
Chinese Drama - 2015, 4 episodes
This is such a great series that features four episodes, each with a different couple and issue they have to solve, and the best part is that all the stories are based on real events. The first episode is set in high school, where two best friends are being bullied after rumours circulate about one of them being gay. They face a lot of discrimination, but in the end, they confess their attraction towards each other because they both grow to understand the love they feel for each other is not wrong. The second episode is about two boys whose relationship was torn apart by their parents, but three years later they meet again with the same attraction for each other that they had all those years ago. The third episode is where a gay couple is celebrating their third anniversary when their mother admits she wants her son to have a wife and kids. In the end he decides to sacrifice his love so that his partner can have the life he believes that he deserves. The last episode is about two men who move away from their hometown and struggle with having no job and threatened homelessness. Will the love they share be enough to overcome every obstacle in their path? Each of these stories are real events that have been portrayed in such an amazing way. Each episode is only around 10 minutes, so it’s not even that long to watch. The first episode is by far the best, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to watch a short but impactful drama. Sometimes love is enough to strengthen your resolve and overcome even the worst obstacles; that’s the message of this series, which is such a beautiful one.

216. 2 Moons
Thai Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
An iconic classic Thai BL that I’ve tried to watch in recent years and absolutely hated it, yet the nostalgia and remembering how much I loved it back in 2018 when I first watched it is what’s letting me put this much higher on my list of BL’s. This series is about a boy named Wayo who applies to a particular university just so he can see his lifelong crush Pha. Yet when they first meet after so long, Pha is cold, rude, and distant towards him, making Wayo sad and frustrated. What Wayo hasn’t realised is that since their school days, he has had a serious glow-up that left him unrecognisable to the Wayo that Pha remembered from back in school, so when they meet again, Pha doesn’t even recognise Wayo, leading to all of these misunderstandings. Meanwhile this is happening, Wayo’s best friend Ming begins flirting with one of Pha’s friends, Kit. The side couple is adorable and definitely the highlight of the series, and I’m still surprised at how well budgeted this ended up being. I wish it could have been longer, and I wish we could have seen the side couple actually getting together. Also in the novel there was another couple that were supposed to get together, but they didn’t have any moments at all, which was very disappointing. I also didn’t think the main actors had much chemistry, if any at all, and while they were all good-looking, the acting wasn’t particularly great, and they didn’t really look like how their characters were described in the novel other than Wayo. Aside from all of that, it was still a relatively good series. In my honest opinion, however, I would personally recommend just watching the remake of this series, called 2 Moons 2 instead, which brought together a completely new cast. This is an iconic series for older BL fans, but I honestly don’t think the newer BL fans will enjoy this as much.

217. Seven Days: Monday - Thursday
Japanese Movie - 2015
I was pleasantly surprised by this. I know that among BL films, this was a very well talked about one at the time of watching, so I finally decided to give it a go and quite enjoyed it. This film is about a boy called Seryou Touji who is well known in the school for dating whoever asks him out at the beginning of each week, and then once the week is over, he ends the relationship. Due to this fact, every Monday girls wait outside the school to be the first person to ask him out, and those who have dated him always say it was the best week of their life and that he’s a real gentleman. One day another boy called Shino Yuzuru decides to ask him out, and to his surprise, Seryou agrees. However, Shino just believes the relationship won’t be taken seriously but is thrown off once he realises he may be developing feelings for the real Shino, not just the kind mask he puts on. The only problem is, he is certain that the relationship will end after a week. This film looks into the first four days of their one-week relationship, but there is a second film called Seven Days: Friday - Sunday, which explores the final three days. It’s well worth a watch; at the time I hadn’t really seen that many Japanese BL’s, but this was really well made, and I really enjoyed it. The second film is definitely better than the first one, but that’s why I definitely recommend this one, just so you can watch the sequel straight afterwards!

218. Dominant Yakuza and Wimpy Corporate Slave
Japanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
This was pretty short and simple, but I really enjoyed it and wish they could have made it into a full-length series. This is a mini series made up of 10 episodes, all three minutes long, which features Yang, an office worker who is transferred to the Japanese branch of his company despite not being fully fluent in his language. There he is used by all his colleagues due to his friendly nature and handed assignment after assignment, leaving him always tired and burnt out. One day he goes to a bar after work to get drunk and meets the gangster Yuma fighting another gang. Yang is drawn to Yuma’s fighting skills and finds that they keep running into each other over and over again. As the two begin to open up to each other about the harsh worlds they live in, can they learn to find comfort and draw strength from each other’s presence? This was really cute with great acting and impressive chemistry; I just wish it was longer and they didn’t waste so much of the run time on useless flashbacks. Overall, I enjoyed this series a lot, and since it’s so short, I definitely recommend it if you’re interested in gang-related BL’s.

219. Tinted with You
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
This was a fairly good drama but was probably more successful because both of the main leads were idols. This series is about Eun Ho, who is a college student preparing for his exams when he is suddenly transported back to the Joseon period and meets the crown Prince Heon who is on the run from his brother who wants him dead. Eun Ho needs to try and find his way back, but the feelings that grow between him and Heon constrict him to the past. I feel like the flaw in this drama was the pacing and time constrictions. Honestly, the actors are good at acting, and the main couple had okay chemistry; it wasn’t the best, but with a few more workshops, they could have had the potential to improve much more. The kiss scenes weren’t the best I’ve seen from a K-drama but it’s also not the worst, so I guess that counts for something. The OST was fantastic, and I absolutely loved listening to it. The plot was great with the whole time travel dynamic, but because of the short run time, it all had to be rushed to the point there was almost no plot progression. If they at least doubled the length of the episodes and added in more scenes to show the relationship buildup of Eun Ho and Heon, then I probably wouldn’t have any complains, but despite this, I did genuinely enjoy this series.
-
220. Nobleman Ryu's Wedding
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
This is one of those dramas that has a great plot but wasn’t done as well as it could have. This is a mini series about a wedding between Ryu Ho Seon and Choi Hwa Jin; however, after the ceremony, Ho Seon discovers that the person he married was not Hwa Jin, but Ki Wan, her brother, who agreed to pretend to be Hwa Jin and get married after she ran away days before the ceremony. Ki Wan asks Ho Seon to pretend with him until Hwa Jin returns, but as the two of them begin to develop real feelings, how will their relationship proceed? This was such a cute, awesome plot, but unfortunately this series has many inaccuracies culturally and historically, and there were many unnecessary scenes that just ended up wasting the limited time this series already had. Overall I think it’s a nice series when you’re bored with nothing else to watch, but it’s not the kind of drama you’ll ever go back to and is rather forgettable.

221. His Man Season 3
Korean TV Show - 2024, 14 episodes
Well… if season 1 brought the novelty and fun, and season 2 brought the love and friendship bonds, then season 3 definitely brought the drama and emotional mess lmao. This is season 3 of His Man, the reality dating show, but you don’t need to watch seasons 1 or 2 before starting this since they all feature a different cast. This dating show features 8 gay men: Seungjin (my favourite), Jaeseung, Seongmin, Hwi, Youngjoon, Minseon, Hanmin, and Meonggyun. Throughout this show, these 8 men live together in the same house for one week whilst sharing rooms/beds, going on dates, and getting to know each other. At the end of each day, they have the opportunity to call one person and express their feelings to that person. By the end of the week, they can choose the man they are most attracted to. If that man reciprocates their feelings, then they’ll leave the house together as a newly formed couple. Those who don’t find a relationship will leave still single. This show was honestly so messy that in the end I wasn’t sure if I wanted any of the couples to end up together. If you like dating shows with a lot of drama, I definitely recommend watching this; it was very entertaining, lmao. Unfortunately, this had a lot to live up to after the incredible season 2, and this definitely fell flat for me. Here’s to hoping we get a season 4 though!!!

222. My Dear Gangster Oppa
Thai Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
This series wasn’t awful in theory, but unfortunately I was very disappointed with this. This drama is adapted from the Korean webtoon, The Ideal Relationship, which is one of my favourite webtoons. Because of that, I had very high expectations for this series, and I was really let down by it. This drama is about Guy, a gamer who is secretly in love with his best friend Wal. When Wal gets a girlfriend, he is depressed and turns to his online friends to help. They plan to all meet up face to face, and Guy tries to convince his closest online friend, “Yuri”, to show up. “Yuri” doesn’t have a mic and doesn’t talk about himself, so they all believe “Yuri” is a shy girl. Guy decides to meet up with him, hoping to make him more comfortable and at ease with them, but when they meet, he realises, however, that “Yuri” isn’t a girl but instead is a tall, gangster-looking man called Thiu. Guy is immediately intimidated by him, which Thiu admits is the reason he didn’t want to meet the rest of the group, because he was afraid to make them uncomfortable or scared because of his appearance. Guy feels bad for judging him and resolves to bring them closer, unaware that Thiu is actually working for the mafia and his closeness to Guy has drawn unwanted attention. Can Thiu keep Guy safe whilst finding himself developing feelings so strong for him that he considers leaving the mafia world for good, and when Guy finds out what Thiu does, will he still want to be around him? As I mentioned before, this had so much potential, but unfortunately they deviated too far from the webtoon’s plot, and I was left very disappointed. The chemistry was pretty good, as expected from MeenPing; the acting wasn’t that impressive, but I don’t think it was awful either. Overall it’s not a bad series, but I did find it to be a disappointing adaptation, and it’s not something I’d recommend very strongly.

223. Love Is Better the Second Time Around
Japanese Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
I’ll be completely honest; while I did kind of like this series, I personally don’t think it’s as good as the reviews made it out to be, especially since I’ve seen people call this a 10/10 series. This is about Miyata, who works as a magazine editor, where he meets the writer Iwanaga, recognising him as his high school lover. Iwanaga is happy to reconnect with Miyata, but Miyata is awkward and uncomfortable around him due to their past, trying to set a distance between them. However, it is clear that their feelings have not gone away, and the more Miyata avoids him, the deeper in love he falls. Will the two be able to resume their relationship with each other, or will their surrounding environment and relationships with friends and family pull them even further apart? I don’t want to be too negative because I did enjoy this series, and I know it’s very popular and well-loved so you may enjoy this series too, but for me, the pacing was far too slow, and I wasn’t getting sucked into the story like I had hoped. It’s worth giving this a go and seeing if you’ll like it; maybe I’ll try rewatching in the future and see if I’ve changed my mind, but I thought it was too slow and forgettable for me to rank it highly.

224. My Dream
Thai Drama - 2018, 12 episodes
When I first watched this series, I saw that this had many negative reviews, and a lot of people said the beginning was good and the ending was bad. I was slightly hesitant to try it, but eventually I decided to try it out, and while I don’t think it was all that bad, I definitely understand why it received so much criticism. This is about a boy called Runway whose father died in a plane crash. Ever since that day, he has been having nightmares but finds his father’s dreamcatcher that he used as a kid in the hope that it would help him sleep. After hanging it up above his bed, Runway starts dreaming of a man called Dream. He immediately recognises Dream as someone who he used to dream about when he was a child when the dreamcatcher was still up. Next door to Runway is a boy called Tanai. Runway finds himself developing a crush on both Dream and Tanai, while both of them also like Runway back. Runway therefore has a difficult decision to make between the real boy next door and the made-up boy of his dreams that he may love just a little more. Which will he choose? Things will get even more complicated when Runway’s best friend also develops feelings for Tanai, and Tanai starts to also reciprocate his feelings but still doesn’t let go of his crush on Runway. I really did enjoy this drama, honestly, but I have several complaints. For one thing, it basically romanticised rape after (spoiler alert) Runway’s best friend was raped, but he later kissed the guy who raped him. I thought that was wrong and completely messed up. The other thing is the show ended on a cliffhanger, and no couples were confirmed. Other than that, it’s kinda weird, very cute, and (to me) something I really enjoyed at the time, but if I tried to rewatch it, then I probably wouldn’t like it as much.

225. Kiss Me Again
Thai Drama - 2018, 14 episodes
This is the second season of Kiss: The Series. Technically, it can be watched as a standalone without watching the prequel, but I definitely recommend watching Kiss first to understand a little more of the backstory. This series shows how Kao and Pete’s relationship first began, going from enemies to lovers. Although they weren’t the main couple, they definitely stole the show lmao. I honestly loved this so much more than the first season; it shows a beautiful take on Kao and Pete’s relationship! There are also many other straight couples and another implied gay couple. I do have some complaints with this one, as the other straight couples relationships made no sense and were quite frustrating to watch. One of them got back with her ex, who she broke up with because of his violent history. Another got with a guy that had basically been bullying her. And another one started dating the guy who she had been investigating to find out if he was gay and even lied to his own mother saying that he was gay, even though he wasn’t. I mostly skipped past the boring bits but was in love with Pete and Kao. Don’t be afraid to skip parts if it gets too boring at times; Kao and Pete were definitely the highlight of this series!!!

226. Boys Dormitory
Korean Drama - 2017, 2 episodes
This is another very short mini-series, with two episodes that are only 4 minutes long. This is based in the boys dormitory of a university with two boys, Se Hun and Ji Min, who start developing feelings for each other. It’s very cute with natural acting and pretty good chemistry, but way too short. I wish we could have had a full-length series between the two of them to really focus on developing their relationship. Since it’s so short, though, I highly recommend checking it out!

227. Gloomy Salad Days
Taiwanese Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
Although the first few episodes weren’t great, I really enjoyed this series. This is an episodic series with 12 different stories all based on real-life events but with a supernatural twist. All these stories revolve around Du, the god of death that can kill, and in return, their souls will be turned into rocks to support her bridge that souls cross to the afterlife. When a rock from this bridge is found in a school, the one who finds it can see Du and can make someone die. Shen Qi is the only person who can see Du without the rock and tries to help people give up on their hatred. The LGBT storylines first feature Mei Li, a rich transgender student who falls for his friend’s sister, Xiao Ju, who finds out that he was born in a girl’s body and faces discrimination after his secret is revealed until he summons Du and tells her if his best friend won’t accept him, then he wants to die. Next, his ex-girlfriend Xiao Ju falls in love with her best friend Qiao Qiao and runs away to be with her; however, after she is outed and shamed on social media, she calls Du to take her and her girlfriend’s life so they can stay together in the afterlife. Finally, the best storyline (in my opinion) is Xiao Lun, a feminine gay man, who is badly bullied by Da Dong. After they are forced to join the school musical, they grow closer. When Da Dong is forced to attack someone, getting injured in the process, and is found and treated by Xiao Lun, he sees him in a different light. However, when Da Dong kisses Xiao Lun in a haunted house, Xiao Lun asks him if he’s gay, causing Da Dong to freak out and call on Du, asking her to kill Xiao Lun so no one can find out his secret. But in the hospital, he later regrets his decision and begs her to bring him back even if he turns into a rock in exchange. This series was so heartbreaking, but I really enjoyed it. I just wish we had established Xiao Lun and Da Dong’s relationship before the plot moved on.

228. Hwarang
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
The K-Pop fan in me jumped out when I saw this series. Originally I was interested because Park Seo Joon, Go Ara, and Park Hyungsik were in it, but after I heard Shinee’s Choi Minho and BTS’ V were going to be here, I dropped everything to watch this. This is only light bromance so it probably doesn’t really belong on this list, but it’s really cute, and there is a decent plot. This is about the Hwarangs, who are trained as protectors to serve the Queen and future King. The only problem is, no one knows who the King is. After Sun Woo’s best friend is murdered by the unknown King just as he finds and meets his real birth father after years of searching, Sun Woo decides to get revenge. He joins the Hwarangs under the fake identity of his best friend and is taken in by the newly discovered father, who introduces him to his daughter as her new brother. She soon discovers the truth that he is not actually her biological brother, and just as Sun Woo begins to fall in love with her, he has to move out and into the Hwarang dormitories, so she decides to follow as their new doctor. As he comes closer to working out the King’s identity, he realises this mysterious person may be closer than he expects. This series wasn’t fantastic, but as a huge fan of historical dramas, this was pretty good, and I would absolutely recommend this to any other fans of the actors mentioned above. The acting and cinematography were impressive, though the female lead was really annoying in my opinion. It was a good series, but nothing extraordinary. I’m still glad I watched it though.

229. My Sweet Dear
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
This was a mini-series that had a lot of potential, but unfortunately a poor script and such a short run time left this series feeling quite rushed, and the ending wasn’t the best. This mini-series is about Yoon Do Gun, who is the head chef of Laura Dining. One day when the owner brings a new chef in, Choi Jung Woo, and announces they will both create a signature dish and the winner will become the new head chef, a rivalry begins between the two. The question is, will the rivalry they face turn to love, or further their existing hatred? This was short but cute and I did enjoy it as a light-hearted mini-series with little drama; I just wish it hadn’t been as rushed. The chemistry was fairly good too; I wouldn’t mind seeing the actors again in another full-length series. I don’t know if I’d recommend this series, just because it was quite rushed and forgettable, but it’s not a series I regret watching, so if you have the time and would like to watch a cute and fast-paced BL, this would be a good place to start.

230. Ai Long Nhai
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I’ll be 100% honest, the only reason I started this series is because I knew PorschArm was in this. For those of you who don’t know, Porsch and Arm are a real-life, married, gay couple, and in this series they are playing Sippakorn and Jaonan, the fathers of the main character Aiyaret. Ai was studying abroad in Toronto but, after being expelled due to violence, was forced by his father to return to Thailand and transfer to a school Sippakorn used to work at. At this school, Ai meets Chen Nhai, a clumsy and forgetful boy who carried around a little duck keychain that he is always dropping. This keychain was given to him by his father, who told Nhai that only when he can prove he can take care of the duck is he allowed to get a girlfriend. Ai falls in love with Nhai from the moment they first met and resolves to take care of him and his duck keychain. After Ai invites Nhai and his friends to his condo, they end up getting drunk and sleeping together. Ai agrees to take responsibility and decides to flirt with Nhai, hoping to make Nhai his boyfriend. But what happens when Ai’s mother suddenly appears after years of ignoring Ai’s existence, determined to split Ai and Nhai up? Ai seeks help from his father Sippakorn and his adopted father Jaonan (who his mother hates, believing Jaonan lured Sippakorn away and stole the life she could have had) to prevent his mother from getting close and hurting him and Nhai. Will Nhai agree to Ai’s mother’s demands to break up with Ai, or will their relationship grow stronger through the trials they face together? I’ll be honest, aside from the fact that we had a queer couple raising their son together and the chemistry between the couples, this series isn’t the best. The subtitles are awful, and the plot is sweet but basic; despite that, there was something about it that I really enjoyed. I still recommend watching this for PorschArm, but be warned you’ll probably want to fast forward most of this series.

231. Senior Secret Love: Puppy Honey 2
Thai Drama - 2017, 8 episodes
The second season of Senior Secret Love: Puppy Honey. This is set shortly after the first, when Porsche has to leave to work at a newly established vet clinic, leaving Emma alone. Feeling lonely, she sets out to make some new friends and take her mind off Porsche’s departure, where she meets her brother’s friend Night. Night quickly expresses an interest in her and, with her brother’s approval, starts trying to court Emma despite knowing she has a boyfriend already. We also see more of Rome and Pick as their relationship slowly forms, along with Pick finally coming to terms with his sexuality. This series is definitely not as good as season 1, but I still think it was worth a watch, at least for me anyway. The ending was also one of my favourite BL endings ever, which is why I recommend at least trying this out if you liked season 1 and seeing what you think!

232. En of Love: This Is Love Story
Thai Drama - 2020, 3 episodes
This is the third and final part of the En of Love series, and unpopular opinion, but this was my favourite one (probably because I’m biased and love series with twins lmao). This series is about Nuea, who is recently heartbroken after his crush Mark and best friend Vee fell in love. One day at a party he sees Praram, the younger brother of Gun Tossakan, his friend’s boyfriend. He immediately falls for Praram’s smile and reaches out for permission to court him. However, his brother Gun is less than pleased, while Praram’s identical twin brother Pralak is supportive but concerned after discovering that Nuea is considered to be a playboy in the university, constantly flirting with other people and used to have a new partner every other week. But when two people fall in love, nothing can get in their way. As I said before, I personally think that this was the best of the three series, and although it was short, much shorter than the first two series, it was so sweet. Nuea and Praram had great chemistry, and I thought the acting was quite good too. If you’re planning to watch any of the En of Love series, this one and Love Mechanics are the better ones to go for. While there are many better series out there, I still enjoyed this and think if you have any interest in starting it, then you should go for it!

233. Love Sea
Thai Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
FortPete were the main couple, and they have amazing chemistry. That’s the only positive thing I have to say about this series; its only redeeming point is that FortPete was here. This series is about Tongrak (Rak), a popular writer of romance novels. One day, he decides to spend a few weeks travelling to gain inspiration for a new novel, where he meets Mahasamut (Mut). Rak is immediately irritated by Mut’s carefree attitude and behaviour, wanting nothing to do with him. But the island rarely gets visitors, and Mut is intrigued by this new guest, making it his mission to find out more about him. After one incident, they end up sleeping together, and Rak immediately finds the inspiration from Mut to continue writing. By the end of his trip, Rak invites Mut to come back to his home with him for a while; Rak will pay him as long as Mut does some of the cooking, cleaning, and spends time with him while he is not writing. But issues arise when Rak’s father and cousin continue to cause trouble for him, viewing him more as a money-bank and punching bag to use for their personal gain. Can Mut help Rak finally realise his own worth and cut those toxic family members out of his life for good? Meanwhile, Rak’s old friend, Vivi, has a special interest in Rak’s personal assistant, Khaimuk (Muk). Vivi tries to find and create situations where she can be alone with Muk, so the two girls can grow closer. Muk is annoyed with Vivi constantly bothering her and wants nothing to do with her. Will Vivi finally get the chance to confess, and is Muk willing to give her a chance? I really wanted to like the GL side couple, but they were awful. Mut and Rak were pretty cute with some insanely good, spicy scenes between them. That’s all I have to say; aside from Fort and Pete, the acting and chemistry of everyone else were bad, the plot was okay, but the execution was awful; even the pacing was bad. I really wanted to like this, but I didn’t, and I don’t recommend it at all.

234. Caged Again
Thai Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
I really wanted to like this series, and at the start I really did; it’s such a fun, unique concept, and I was so drawn into the first few episodes. However, halfway through I was so bored that it took me months before I finished this show. I think I watched the last 5 episodes on x2 speed, and I was still bored out of my mind. This series is about a penguin called Junior who lives in a zoo and dreams about going back to the North Pole. He is jealous of all the humans who can go wherever they want without being confined to a cage. He makes a wish that he can leave the zoo and go back to his true home, and the next moment he wakes to realise he had become a human. While walking around and exploring his surroundings away from the zoo, he finds a discarded school uniform and decides to sneak in and attend a school, hoping to learn human behaviours from them. At this school he meets Sun, a cold and distant boy who seems strangely protective over him. What Junior doesn’t realise is that he and Sun may have more in common than they realise. Meanwhile, the two make friends with Jodd and Jeng, and the four of them spend the year getting into mischief and rescuing each other from dangerous situations. Junior also does not realise that he has a tracking device on him, and the zookeepers are desperate to find their missing penguin. Will Junior finally get to visit the North Pole he dreamed about alongside Sun, or will he be taken back to the zoo and turned back into a penguin again? The concept of this show is amazing, and this had so much potential; there is even a PorschArm cameo!!!! Unfortunately it was a big letdown for me, and because of that I personally don’t recommend continuing it after the first 5-6 episodes.

235. Unforgotten Night
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Did I love this series? No. Would I recommend it? Not really. Do I rewatch this series all the time despite having mixed feelings about it? Absolutely. This is another mafia-style romance series about Kim, an office worker who is broken-hearted after having just been dumped by his ex-boyfriend Day. He goes out drinking to try and forget about Day, which is where he meets mafia boss Kamol. Kamol is immediately attracted to him and takes him back to his apartment. Kim is confused when they not only sleep together but also delve into BDSM intimacy that leaves him satisfied but confused with his own body and feelings. He runs away, unaware that Kamol has expressed an immediate interest in him after finding someone so compatible with him in bed. Kamol tracks down Kim, who has secretly been staying with his ex-boyfriend and his new lover, not knowing that his ex used to work for Kamol. Kamol eventually manages to convince Kim that he isn’t a bad person and encourages Kim to move in with him, so they begin a relationship. However, Kamol’s position as a mafia leader puts Kim in serious harm. Can Kim convince Kamol to leave the mafia world behind, or will Kim spend the rest of his life fearing for his and his family’s safety? As I mentioned before, this series honestly isn’t great. The acting is very stiff, but there’s something about it that makes me keep coming back to watch it. If you’re interested in mafia and gang-related plots, this may interest you; just don’t come into this series expecting another Kinnporsche, or you’ll be very disappointed. Although the chemistry wasn’t the best, the outside context actually makes it better knowing both of the actors had a crush on each other throughout filming this series, which was why they were quite awkward during the intimate scenes, but they are still together and have been privately dating for a while, which is so cute!!!
-
236. En of Love: Love Mechanics
Thai Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
This is the second part of the En of Love series. I would recommend watching TOSSARA first, as it makes this series less confusing, but I know a lot of people hated that series, which I don’t necessarily disagree with, so you can get away with watching this one first. One night Mark, broken-hearted after being rejected by his crush Bar, gets drunk and unknowingly has a one-night stand with Vee, who happens to be Bar’s close friend. After they sleep together, they begin a strange relationship as Vee battles with his feelings between Mark alongside his current girlfriend, who he suspects has been cheating on him too. This is not a perfect relationship, but it is a human one, prone to heartbreak and jealousy. I obviously didn’t like that Mark was drunk when he slept with a sober Vee, and I didn’t like the whole cheating girlfriend mess, but it really wasn’t as bad as I expected, so I suggest giving it a go. However, this has been remade into a full-length series called Love Mechanics the series, which is 10x better than this, and they replaced the actors for Gun and Bar, which (sorry to say) was a great choice. So if you’re interested in this series and its plot, I honestly suggest giving that one a go instead of this, unless you want to watch both like I did, in which case go for it, and I hope you enjoy!

237. Playboyy
Thai Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
Well… this was certainly something. This entire series is basically just porn, so if you’re uncomfortable with NC scenes and topics of SA, rape, the sex industry, drugs and alcohol, death, etc., then this is NOT the series for you. This series focuses on the lives of a group of friends as Nont has been missing and presumed dead for several months before returning and refusing to talk about where he was. In reality, this person is not Nont but his identical twin, Nant. He is trying to find his brother and what caused his disappearance, starting with the friend group and Nont’s ex-partner, Prom. Over time, Nont starts falling for Prom, who thinks that he is his twin, so how long can a relationship built on lies last? Zoey is Nont’s closest friend who has serious sex-related trauma. He meets Teena, who is a part-time nude model and prostitute, who plans to make Zoey fall in love with him and steal his virginity but in time begins to fall for him. Meanwhile, First has been sleeping with a prostitute called Soong for a while, knowing that Soong is using him for his money, but as he’s only spending his father’s money, he doesn’t care. When First and Soong want to make things official, will Soong leave his life of prostitution and build an honest career for First? Then we have Captain, who is sleeping with the coach of the football team to stay a starting player, but when things get out of hand, will they end up destroying each other’s careers and lives in the process? Finally, we have Porsche, who begins a slave contract with Jump, a prostitute, and treats Jump like an animal. But when the roles reverse and Jump finds blackmail material over Porsche, will things settle down or grow even worse? This series was absolutely hilarious with so many twists and turns, but ultimately it was cringy and almost unbearable to get through. As much as I loved and will always defend this series, I don’t recommend it at all.

238. House of Stars
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
…I don’t understand anything about this series. Although I did get the basic premise and actually enjoyed watching this series, with every episode I was getting more and more confused with what this series is actually supposed to be about. From what I could gather, this series is about several actors and actresses who live together in a house with strict rules to follow. The house is run by Suzy, who brings these stars together and uses her connections to boost their careers, but in doing so she controls most aspects of their lives, including the roles they can take on, what time they can leave and must return back to the house, who they can and cannot date, etc. Despite these rules, they all begin to date and sleep around with others in the house, with many love triangles. Wayha and Wayu, Gun/Pitch/So, Pawin/Korn/Mintra (aka Korn/Pawin, the only couple keeping me through this series lmao). Towards the end, however, it takes a darker turn into a murder mystery. Who has been killed in this house, and who is the killer? I don’t recommend finding the answer to those questions out since it requires watching this weird series lmao. But honestly speaking, there are so many different plot events and twists that it made my head spin, but certain parts of this were actually pretty good. Overall, I didn’t understand what was happening, but the couples had great chemistry, the acting was fantastic, and the murder mystery part towards the end was interesting. Although I would say that I somewhat enjoyed this series, I don’t recommend it very highly; there are many better BL’s out there to go for.

239. Make It Right
Thai Drama - 2016, 12 episodes
This was my first BL series ever, and I do still consider it to be a really good Thai drama during its time, but it can be confusing at times and is definitely bad compared to several newer series. If I were to rewatch this now, I’d probably hate it, but I’m keeping my review the same as when I first watched it, because I hold this series very close to my heart. This drama is based in a high school, with several different couples. We see the journey of the main couple, Tee and Fuse, and how they first started dating after Fuse’s girlfriend cheated on him. We also get to see the side couples, like Book and Frame, who used to be one of my favourite BL couples when I started watching Thai BL dramas. The good aspects of this series are that all the side couples get just as many scenes as the main couple, so even if there is a couple you don’t like, there are plenty of others to focus on instead, and you can skip over the ones you aren’t interested in. My main complaint is that at times the acting isn’t great and feels quite unrealistic, and I wish there weren’t so many product placements. Other than that, it was a really great series. Since this was the first one I ever watched, it also holds a very special place on this list. I wouldn’t say it’s a must watch, but it’s definitely iconic and something most veteran BL watchers have probably seen.

240. Love Sick
Thai Drama - 2014, 12 episodes
This season is definitely not as good as season 2 was (in my opinion at least), but it was still pretty enjoyable, which is why I would recommend sticking through this one, because the second season was amazing. This is about a boy called Noh who is a member of a music club and needs money from the school to buy more instruments for the club. Unfortunately, the school board won’t listen to him and denies his request. Phun, a member of the student council, has a girlfriend, but his father wants him to date his friend’s daughter instead. To stop this from happening, he needs his sister to help convince his father to not force him to date and marry someone he doesn’t love. The problem is that his sister, Pang, is a huge fan of Boys Love, so he decides that the best way to convince Pang to help him is by making her believe that he has a boyfriend. When Phun finds out about Noh’s situation, he asks Noh to become his fake boyfriend, and in return, he will increase the music club’s budget. However, the deal between them brings the two closer, and soon they begin to fall in love for real. The first 2 episodes weren’t that good, but it gets so much better afterwards. Noh and Phun are both very likeable characters with great chemistry, and the relationship forming between them was very sweet and nicely paced. I would absolutely give this a try, and I’m sure you will love this series just as much as I did. But if you aren’t interested in watching an older BL series like this, I recommend checking out the 2024 remake, which (I currently haven’t watched) but have heard very good things about!

241. The Best Story
Thai Drama - 2021, 3 episodes
I absolutely love YinWar as actors, so I was really excited about this series, and while I think it’s a fairly good series that seems cute on the surface with a more depressing twist that focuses on the reality of so many queer people, I will admit that this wasn’t as satisfying as I was hoping it to be. This is about Best, an ordinary, boring guy with nothing particularly special about him. One day, while walking to class, he gets hit in the head by a basketball and is taken to the infirmary by Dew. Dew is the most popular, hottest guy in the school and is well-loved by everyone. After a video of Dew carrying Best is uploaded and people begin poking fun at Best, he confronts Dew, who apologises for what happened. After the confrontation, Best realises he has feelings for Dew but is too afraid to confess. He decides to write him a song and sing it at the school festival, but when Dew’s best friend Fern sees that Dew is beginning to fall for Best, she decides to stop his feelings the only way she knows how, by outing him to his mother. Can Dew confront his sexuality to be with Best, or will he give up and agree to move miles away for university and never see Best again? This series was okay, but it either needed another episode so we could have properly seen Dew’s feelings form for Best, or it needed season 2 to give us a happier ending. I don’t mind sad endings like this because it exposes the harsh reality and homophobia that many people in the LGBTQ+ community still face, but the ending wasn’t the best to, me and I’m slightly disappointed by it. It’s still a great mini-series, but nothing I’ll ever be coming back to.

242. TharnType
Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
The side story to Love by Chance the series. (Quick trigger warning for SA before you read this review). This is a story about two roommates, Tharn and Type. Type is homophobic because he was raped by an older man when he was very young. So when he finds out his roommate Tharn is gay, he is angry and begins picking on Tharn, hoping he will move out, but Tharn makes it clear no matter what Type does, he will never move out. The two of them fight and argue everyday, until a situation pushes them together and Tharn reveals his feelings for Type. Later, Type asks Tharn to sleep with him as a one-time thing, which eventually leads to a friends-with-benefits relationship. After Type gets a girlfriend and breaks Tharn’s heart, it seems like it will be over between them, but just as Type realises he loves Tharn and breaks up with her, beginning to date each other, Tharn’s ex-boyfriend suddenly shows up, Tharn’s best friend Llong is pulled into the middle. How long can they hold onto their love when everyone is trying to break them apart? This show made me quite uncomfortable due to the heavy and dark themes; however, the chemistry between the actors and the quality of this drama are incredibly high. I loved the actors together, but Tharn was honestly toxic, and Type, despite not exactly being the greatest person either, deserved so much better. I wish I could have loved this series as much as everyone else seemed to, but I can’t do that.

243. Love by Chance
Thai Drama - 2018, 14 episodes
When I first started this BL series, I thought it was so cute, and I couldn’t understand how anyone didn’t love it as much as I did. However, after maturing and watching several higher-quality, better BL series, I realised just how problematic some of the side couples were. This series focuses on two boys called Ae and Pete. One day, Ae accidentally hits Pete with his bike and takes him to hospital. They later meet again and become friends, but things start to change between them after Pete’s ex, who was only dating him for the money, starts to harass and hurt Pete, demanding money from him. Ae sees this happen and stands up for Pete, but in the process discovers that Pete likes men and starts to feel differently about him. Over time, feelings begin to develop between the two of them. While their story takes place, there are quite a few side couples who also get their own moments. Can is one of Ae’s long-time friends, and Tin has been acquaintances/friends with Pete for a while. The two are the definition of enemies to lovers and are pretty fun to watch. However, the other two side couples are where my main complaints about this drama come in, as the romanticised scenes of sexual abuse and rape are really disgusting to watch. Kengkla and Techno’s whole dynamic is wildly uncomfortable, and I’m disappointed that the writer constantly romanticises abuse and SA in her series. Unfortunately BL’s do tend to romanticise these things, but it’s wrong and really inappropriate. Not only that, but the other side couple, Tum and Tar, were stepbrothers who (unlike other series where you could try to justify this) actually grew up together and treated each other as real brothers. If you can look past that, then sure, it’s a cute series; I just can’t get past the problematic plot and don’t really recommend this series very highly.

244. 7 Project
Thai Drama - 2021, 7 episodes
As much as I tried to like this I only managed to watch episodes 1, 3 and 4. This is an episodic series where each episode is a different couple and plot. Episode 1 featured Earth and Santa (if you know me already you know that Cooheart is my favourite actor in the industry). I follow both of them on social media, so I knew they had great chemistry already, and it really exemplified through this episode. This was set in a boarding school where Ozone and Sun both transferred to. Ozone is immediately bullied, and Sun stands up for him. The two form a fast friendship, which soon develops into something more. It was a great episode but was too short to have a real, emotional ending. Episode 3 was one of the few GL series out there at the time, with Sammy and Pineare. Proud was dating a boy who cheated on her, leading her to dump him. After this she starts a new school to find out her ex is there and is apparently a massive playboy. She befriends Jaidee who sticks up for Proud when her boyfriend approaches her, and the two girls create a fast friendship which soon turns romantic after the two share a kiss. The episode itself was okay, but the ending was very unsatisfactory. Then was Episode 4 with Boun and Prem. I expected this to be the best episode, but it was so poorly developed with too much happening in the hour episode that it felt too rushed. Overall, some episodes were better than others, and generally speaking, it was okay, but there are many better series out there. Personally I don’t recommend watching the whole thing, just watch the episodes that seem interesting to you.

245. Diary of Tootsies Season 2
Thai Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
This was nowhere near on the same level as the first season, but I still thought it was worth giving a go, mainly because I love fun and campy BL series like this. This is a continuation set directly after the events of the first season with the gays: Gus, Golf, and Kim, and the lesbian: Natty. Each of them are trying to find love, which most of them eventually manage to find. I will say that I was very disappointed as a huge lover of Gus and Top; I really wanted them to be together, so if you are like me, then by the end of the 9th episode (as a slight spoiler alert), you will be disappointed. However, Win, the guy Gus ended up with, was really sweet, funny, and obviously cared deeply for Gus and all his friends. Some people consider Win a bit bland and boring, which I definitely get when you compare him to Top, but I thought he was a sweetheart, and I get why Gus fell for him. This had some plot twists and wasn’t all just comedy; there were some serious moments in here as well, which I liked. I will say if anyone watches it, don’t have too high expectations, but if you enjoyed season one, I would still suggest giving this season a go and seeing what you think.

246. My Dear Loser: Edge of 17
Thai Drama - 2017, 9 episodes
If you’re wanting to watching this for the BL aspects then you might not want to bother with this one since the gay couple are the side couple that don’t get together until close to the end and they barely have any moments. However, the series as a whole was generally okay; both the leads were unbearable in their own ways, but the plot was pretty fun. This is about a boy called Oh who is really badly bullied by his crush’s boyfriend, Copper. Her name is Peach, and she is nice (but it’s really irritating that she knows her boyfriend is a bully, yet she stays with him). Then a boy called Sun joins the school, and he and Oh become friends, meaning Sun also starts getting bullied. But later one of the bullies, called Inn, leaves that gang and becomes friends with Oh, Sun, and another girl they meet called Ainam. From there we see the love triangle between Sun, Inn, and Ainam, as they are all in love with one another. But eventually Sun and Inn are implied to have gotten together, which later was confirmed during the standoff series Our Skyy. It’s kinda cute with fairly good acting, but the main characters both annoyed me, and Inn and Sun barely had any moments, which was disappointing. It was an okay series, but there is definitely room for improvement.

247. The Lover
Korean Drama - 2015, 12 episodes
This was a really good, iconic series for lots of long-time BL lovers. This series is about four couples who are all living together in one apartment complex, but since this is a review for BL series, I’ll only talk about the gay couple here. Lee Jun Jae is forced to find a roommate for financial reasons, and when he advertises the dorm, he accepts a foreigner by the name of Takuya as his new roommate. Takuya is a Japanese student currently studying in Korea. As they begin to live together, several misunderstandings occur between them and their neighbours, which pushes them closer together. Takuya tries to help Jun Jae leave his apartment and begin to pay attention to the real world. In time they begin thinking of each other as more than roommates. Will their love last when Takuya is going back to Japan as soon as his studies are over? This is such an iconic series, and I really enjoyed it. I actually liked the other couples, but Jun Jae and Takuya were by far the best. My advice is that if you’re only watching it because you’re interested in the BL couple, I probably wouldn’t bother, but if you think the general concept of the series is something you’d enjoy, then I highly recommend it! The acting was great, the chemistry was pretty good, and the story was also fairly enjoyable. I hope that if you watch it, then you enjoy it just as much as I did.

248. The Fairy Fox
Chinese Drama - 2017, 23 episodes
Unfortunately, this series was very low-budget which ruined the effect for me; however, I still enjoyed it regardless, as I think concepts like this are really interesting. This is about the past life of Xiao Jing Chen, a great general, who sacrificed himself in order to save Lu Bai, a fairy fox. Now in the modern day, Lu Bai has tracked down the reincarnated Xiao Jing Chen to watch over and protect him. Xiao Jing Chen is now a college student called Xiao Mo, and he is the only one who can protect Lu Bai's clan against the evil Wolf Clan. The Wolf Clan wants to seize and obtain the power of a sacred stone, which fell on Earth thousands of years ago and has been under the protection of the Fox Clan ever since. Lu Bai stays by Xiao Mo’s side while preparing for the inevitable doom after discovering the head of the wolf clan was reincarnated into Gu Hai, their classmate who is in love with Xiao Mo’s sister. This series was really low budgeted and some of the camera angles were awful, however the series itself was pretty good and I really did enjoy it. It’s worth trying just to see what you think of it, but my advice is don’t expect too much because if you do, then you’ll probably be disappointed.

249. Meet Me Outside
Filipino Drama - 2020, 6 episodes
This was actually a pretty cute mini-series, but it was far too short, and I don’t think a strong enough storyline was communicated over for it to be effective enough. This series is about Dale, a staff member working in a hotel who has a guest influencer named James come to stay. James decided to stay there after a breakup with his ex, Paul, and so he visits on Christmas to have some time to himself. The two of them meet and are naturally drawn together, while knowing that their time together is limited, as soon James will have to go home. As I said before, it was really sweet and cute, but far too short to be effective. The acting was very natural, and the chemistry was amazing. I loved the realistic and raw portrayals of queer characters; they just desperately needed to increase the run time because, although there was a beautiful message of two broken people learning to find comfort in one another, they couldn’t show this well enough for the message to really sink in. It’s not a bad series overall, but I don’t recommend this very highly.
-
250. Kiss
Thai Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
This series is based after the events of Kiss Me Again the series, but if you haven’t already seen that one, then I recommend watching this one first, as it’s the beginning of Kao and Pete. This is based on a girl called Sandee who is constantly surrounded by her male friends. But one day she wakes up in bed naked with her best friend Thada, and neither of them has any memory of what happened. They tried to hide it from all their friends, but it becomes quite hard when even though she starts dating and gets a new boyfriend, feelings between her and Thada continue developing. We also explore Sandees older sister Sanrak when she takes on an apprenticeship at her sister’s ex-boyfriend Na’s company. Sanrak has an awful two-timing ex-boyfriend called First, and we watch as their relationship falls apart while she and Na slowly become something more than friends. To be honest, I skipped a lot of the other couples stories, mainly Sanrak and Na’s story, because I was bored, but it is definitely worth a watch, especially for the ending!! There is a gay couple, but that part is only implied, and you don’t find this out until close to the end, but they are such a great BL couple, so if you have any interest in the story of Pete and Kao, you should definitely watch, even if it is just for them.

251. Love Syndrome III: Uncut Version
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
I honestly don’t know what to say about this; it was toxic and an abusive romance, but somehow I enjoyed it anyway. This series is about Day and Itt, a couple who have been together for years. Before they began dating, Day was extremely abusive towards Itt, regularly beating and SA’ing him. Over time their feelings changed; and they began dating seriously, with Day becoming a calmer, happier person and promising to never lay a hand on Itt again. However, Day is involved in a car accident and suffers from amnesia, losing three years worth of memories. He cannot remember Itt and has therefore gone back to the violent man he was before falling in love with Itt. Itt, blaming himself for Day’s accident, decides he will help take care of Day and recover his memories, knowing he will be subjected to the same abuse he suffered before. With the help of Day’s brother, Night (the sweetest soul in the series; I loved him so much!), and his boyfriend and Itt’s childhood friend, Gear, they resolved to do whatever it takes to help Day’s memories return. This was honestly incredibly disturbing; the relationship between every couple (other than the side couple, Nik and Neil, although Night and Gear were cute too) was incredibly abusive and toxic. I genuinely couldn’t believe how bad it got at times, especially with the other side couple, Mac and Nan. Despite how toxic this was, there was something strangely addictive about this series, like no matter how bad it was, there was something about it that made me keep going. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this at all, but truthfully I can see myself rewatching this many times.

252. The Shipper
Thai Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
This series started off as a comedy but soon ventured into a darker and sadder territory. This series is about Pan; she and her friend Soda are shippers who write fiction about boys love, including the school’s bad boy Way and the intelligent student Kim, who are best friends and shipped by most of the school despite Way’s girlfriend Phingphing. However, one day Way is nearly expelled after fighting with Kim about the fiction, so Pan reaches out to Kim to apologise, and he offers to take her home. On the way back, they get into an accident and are killed; however, the Angel of Death made a mistake, and they shouldn’t have been killed, so they are pushed back to the living world, but there is one problem. Pan was pushed into Kim’s body while her own body is in a coma, and Kim is nowhere to be found. Pan must live as Kim while the Angel of Death finds a way to send her back to her own body. While Pan lives as Kim, she realises life isn’t as simple as the Shipper once believed it to be. Can Pan successfully make her ship a reality when Soda and her friend Khet are close to discovering her secret? I had many reservations about this, and while it was better than I expected, I also knew from the beginning it wasn’t going to be as amazing as other GMMTV shows. This will be controversial, but I actually liked the ending despite how sad it was, possibly because I guessed it would happen all along.

253. Bite Fight
Chinese Movie - 2016
I don’t care what anyone says; this is definitely a hidden gem in the BL world. It’s so funny and campy, typical for vampire BL’s; I enjoyed watching it so much! This is a Chinese BL movie about a boy called Ai Fei who is saved from being beaten up by a group of drunk guys by a vampire named Thomas. Ai Fei begins to stay with the vampire as they start to fall in love. From this point onwards, some strange and weird things begin happening. At first the plot seems complicated, but the ending perfectly ties it all together! It’s so good, and there is a part of me that is still hoping they will someday make a second film. If you are interested in the supernatural and like anything funny or campy, then I highly suggest trying this one out and seeing what you think. A key piece of advice I would give is to make sure you are watching the uncut version, as too much context is left out in the cut version for it to make any sense.

254. OMG! Vampire
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
I will forever be mad with this company for giving LongFrank one terrible BL after another. This had a lot of potential and started off pretty strong, but unfortunately towards the end it went really downhill. This series is about a group of friends who are vampires living in the vampire world and discover that their government has put a ban on vampires falling in love. After this law comes into place, Phum, along with his friends Sen, Run, Jolie, and Mix, all escape to the human world, hoping to find love and happiness over there. In the human world, Phum meets Patrick, the owner of a bar. As vampires, they must drink blood every few days if they want to step into the sun without disintegrating, but as Phum is running out of time and needs access to blood, Patrick gives him a glass of wine, which, after drinking, he finds has the same effect as drinking blood. Phum is determined to work with Patrick so he has access to this special wine and pesters him for days before Patrick gives in and offers him a job. But with the vampire government discovering their group has gone missing and sending some officers to bring them back, how long can their safe haven last? At first I really enjoyed this; it was a funny comedy with great, campy humour, exactly the sort of thing I would enjoy. However, they started to bring in some disgusting and disappointing themes like SA, which they tried to play off by saying that the couple were in a relationship so it wasn’t SA. I’m really disappointed with their attitude and mindsets, and there were a few other moments with bad acting and weird directing choices. I don’t regret watching this BL, but it’s definitely forgettable and not something I’ll ever come back to.

255. HIStory: Obsessed
Taiwanese Special - 2017, 4 episodes
This is a fairly good, short BL to watch in your spare time, with a fun plot which contains some very questionable scenes. This series is about a boy called Shao Yi Chen who dies in a car accident while running away after his boyfriend, Jiang Jing Teng, reveals he is engaged to another woman. After his death, he is sent 10 years back in time to try and change his future by avoiding Jing Teng. However, he loved Jing Teng for a long time and cannot easily forget these feelings. He starts by destroying his diary that was filled with drawings of Jing Teng, but the wind blows one of them away, and Jiang Jing Teng finds it. Having seen this image, he then starts chasing after Yi Chen, while Yi Chen, knowing what the future of their relationship would bring, runs away from him. Eventually, Jing Teng gets in an accident while saving Yi Chen, and he takes care of Jing Teng while he recovers. Can they eventually begin to accept the feelings they had been denying, and will Yi Chen find out the reason behind his death all those years in the future? I consider this to be a great show, but unfortunately Jiang Jing Teng was being very manipulative, which really threw me off. The plot, acting, and chemistry were all great; I just hated Jing Teng’s character so much that it ruined the series slightly for me. It’s not a bad series at all, just a toxic relationship disguised as a healthy one. If that’s your sort of thing, then you may enjoy this, and I will definitely recommend checking this one out, but if you’re like me and don’t enjoy series that try to normalise toxicity and manipulation, I recommend avoiding this series.

256. Stand by Me
Chinese Drama - 2023, 20 episodes
A very short bromance with great acting and a pretty interesting plot. I just hesitate to call this a great series because it was pretty simple and forgettable. This is about Wei Jie, who works for the patriotic organisation with the goal of finding and exposing Japanese spies. One day, whilst on a mission, he meets an old friend of his, Guan Yu, who he begins to suspect could be a spy. He decides to keep an eye on him and in the process finds some incredibly incriminating evidence. Is Guan Yu really a spy, and if not, what exactly is he hiding? This was a fairly interesting plot, but because of the short run time, so much key information was left out, so I was left feeling confused and unsatisfied by the ending. Most of this series left me quite confused, and I didn’t really understand what was happening. It’s not a bad series overall, but I admit I wasn’t super impressed by it. It’s something I forgot about very quickly and have no intention of ever rewatching.

257. My Baby Bright: Best Friends Forever
Thai Special - 2018, 1 episode
This was a fun little project featuring Singto and Krist, the actors from Sotus the series. This was only a short film that was made as an advertisement for a cosmetic company called Baby Bright, which is about two boys called Pla Thong and Tod. One day, Tod unexpectedly dies, but he has unfinished business, which means he is unable to move on to the afterlife until whatever unfinished business he had is resolved. The two of them decide to try and work out what it was that Tod needed to do together, and they finally realise his unfinished business was to confess his true feelings towards Pla Thong. This is a very short mini film that I wish they would have made into a series, but I did enjoy watching it, and I think it’s something that is short, silly, fun, and sweet. Nothing I can complain about lmao.

258. Beating Again
Thai Drama - 2024, 4 episodes
I’ll be honest, I watched this series because I knew Cooheart was in this; if he wasn’t, then I honestly would not have bothered. Currently there are no subtitles, so I missed most of the plot, but this is what I picked up. Nai and Focus are both dancers with previous controversies that left them receiving a lot of hate. They decide to return to their hometown and start up a dance club and advertise to new members. The people who join are Famous, Focus’s brother, who she has a bad relationship with due to their parents neglect; Kay, a poor boy raised in a temple who works multiple jobs to make a living; Jid Rid, a transgender woman living on the street after being kicked out with a dream to become a professional dancer; and Thantawan, a young girl who deeply admires Focus and wants to be just like her. This group, along with their instructor Dindaen, grows closer through dance and the bonds formed as they spend time together. In theprocess, Nai and Focus begin to see each other in a different light. Meanwhile, Famous and Kay have been spending a lot of time together, but Kay believes that Famous is in a relationship, so he avoids him, hoping his feelings will eventually disappear. Can Kay gain the courage to confess to Famous? Can Famous mend the bridge between himself and his sister? Can they all make it as a successful group? I don’t know the answer to that question because it’s still not subbed! This was an okay series, but nothing I’ll ever come back to. It was nice to see Earth dancing, though, and Kaownah and Earth as a pairing (never thought I’d see that happen, but I actually loved it!). You could give it a go, but it’s nothing I’d recommend that strongly.
-
259. Friend Day
Thai Special - 2017, 2 episodes
This is only a mini-series that features two episodes that are only five minutes long, but despite the short run time, they clearly set up what the plot is about along with the conflict and its resolution. This is about a girl who is friends with two guys that are always getting shipped together by the rest of the school. However, neither of them knows that she’s in love with one of them. As time goes on, she realises they really do have feelings for each other, leading her to become jealous of their bond and avoid them. But they won’t let their friendship fall apart because of it and will do their best to reconnect back with her. In time, will she grow to accept that her friends have feelings for each other but she wants to remain their friend anyway, or will her jealousy continue to push her further away from them? It’s not a great series, but it’s short and easy to watch, with a simple plot that contains (in my opinion) a very important topic. Overall, I didn’t regret watching it, but there are definitely better mini-series out there.

260. 2gether
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
This is a series you really will either love or hate, but I would definitely consider this a product of its time. I remember really enjoying this up until the ending, but rewatching it recently made me realise that although Bright and Win were great actors, they honestly had no chemistry whatsoever, and this series felt more like a bromance than a BL. Honestly, I don’t think this series was as bad as some people have made it out to be. I do think some people have overreacted because they were annoyed there was no kiss/intimate moments, but this definitely shouldn’t have been GMMTV’s most viewed BL when it was honestly pretty mediocre. This series is about Tine, a player who has had many girlfriends, all of which ended in disaster. Finally, when Green, an obsessive and hyper boy, confesses his love to Tine and won’t leave him alone, Tine begins brainstorming ways to get rid of Green. Finally he meets Sarawat, the most handsome guy in the year, and Tine asks him to pretend to date him to make Green leave him alone. However, real feelings get in the way and begin to mess everything up. As more and more secrets are revealed, there may be more connecting Tine and Sarawat than just their fake relationship to fool Green. What happens when fake love turns into real love once you begin questioning yourself and the people around you? This could have been amazing if BrightWin had the right chemistry for it, but I think the reason this fell flat was that Win and Bright looked kind of uncomfortable kissing or doing anything romantic. In my opinion, if you watch this series whilst imagining it as a bromance, I think you may enjoy it. But overall this was definitely a letdown and I completely understand why it’s received the hate that it has, even if I do think some people were being a little overdramatic in their reviews.

261. Chapter of Green
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
This was a very short mini-series made up of 12 episodes, all one minute long. This is a very simple series about Green and Chap as they work closely together in a cafe and fall in love in the process. It’s short and sweet but was very cringey and needed more episodes to establish the plot better. The acting is fairly good, and the plot was okay but could be better. Overall, it’s not something I’d really recommend.
-
262. The Underwear
Thai Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
This is a series that has a little bit of everything. It features a gay relationship, a lesbian relationship, a bisexual character, and a few straight relationships. There is comedy, romance, good friendships, and lots of drama, but there are also some darker themes of suicide and PTSD, eating disorders, and obsession. This is about a girl called Jay whose ex-boyfriend Chin committed suicide, and she is still struggling to deal with his death whilst knowing that his brother Jump still blames Jay for his death. Throughout this series, we are introduced to several different characters and look into the different lives they all live. Although there was a lot of plot to get through during this series, as the lives of every character were explored along with their relationships, even though it was very slow and I don’t feel like much progress was made, I did still somewhat enjoy it. This is definitely either a series you will end up enjoying or hating. Although I understand and agree with a lot of the hate and criticism, I actually really enjoyed this series, and while I wouldn’t recommend it very strongly, I also wouldn’t discourage someone from watching it if you think it’s something you might enjoy.

263. Nitiman
Thai Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
As a novel reader, I was quite disappointed with this series, as they definitely did not do the novel justice. This adaptation was mediocre at best, especially the actors, who looked nothing like how they were described to be in the novel. This series is about Jin, who is the university moon in the engineering faculty and well known throughout the whole university for his looks. One day he broke up with his girlfriend, Aim; he fell apart in his heartbreak. He later sees her “flirting” with Be Bomb, a law student. Jin believes that Bom and Aim were flirting when actually Aim is Bom’s cousin. Instead, Bom has liked Jin since he was a freshman one year ago. As they meet and build a good friendship, feelings grow between them. So can Jin understand Bom’s true intentions and come to see Bom as more than just a junior? As I said before, the acting choice for this wasn’t great, which was a huge let-down for me. It was still a fairly nice series for when you’re bored with nothing else to watch, but unfortunately, having read the novel and putting my expectations high left me very disappointed and probably a little biased due to that. Because of this I don’t recommend this series at all, but if you want to give it a try, I will admit it’s very cute and simple, so I hope you enjoy it more than I did.

264. Anti Reset
Taiwanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
Great premise with a poor execution is the best way I can describe this series, which surprises me because how do you make such an interesting premise so boring?!!!! This series is about Chu Yi Ping, a teacher who struggles to form connections and bonds with others and has recently hurt his wrist in an accident, who is given an offer by his uncle to take on an AI robot who can help him with daily tasks around the house and also help him learn to trust and communicate with his peers. When Ever 9 shows up, Chu Yi Ping is immediately drawn to him and wants to help him experience and make real memories outside of the information mechanics implanted into his head. However, Ever 9 is still a robot and should therefore be incapable of forming attachments and relationships with humans, so what happens when the two of them enter a relationship knowing that eventually Ever 9 will have to be returned to the company so his memories can be wiped and he’ll assist another master? As I mentioned before, the plot is super interesting and would normally be the sort of thing I’d love; unfortunately, I was watching this on 2x speed to get through and by the end was really bored. If the plot is something that interests you, I definitely recommend giving it a go, but this is not a series I’ll ever go back to and is probably one I’ll just end up forgetting about.

265. Together with Me: The Next Chapter
Thai Drama - 2018, 13 episodes
Why do so many sequels of iconic BL’s have to be so bad?!!! This is the second season of Together With Me and the side story to Bad Romance the series. This focuses on Korn and Knock after they get engaged (at the end of Bad Romance) and have already been dating for three years. The problem is, none of their family are aware of their relationship, and they are currently at risk of being outed to their parents. Meanwhile, various people are plotting to break them up so they can swoop in to date them instead. How will Korn and Knock’s relationship continue with so many people trying to drive a wedge between them? At the same time, how will their best friend Farm fare after his ex, Bright, tries to come back into his life after hurting him so much before? The one thing I liked about this series is that it really helped to break down stereotypes and also to show the ridiculous views that some people hold about gay people. I just wish certain scenes were removed and that we could teach a couple that has been together for three years how to actually communicate with each other. I also wish a certain character hadn’t gotten back with his asshole ex-boyfriend. The acting and chemistry were great, but this is yet another example of a poor plot ruining what could have been a great series. I highly recommend watching Together With Me if you haven’t already, but I don’t recommend this sequel at all.

266. The Moment
Thai Movie - 2017
I only watched this for Kim and Karn’s storyline after seeing so many fan-made videos of their kiss scene. This series tells the story of three couples in London, New York, and Seoul. I’m only going to talk about Kim and Karn, as they were the only gay couple and the other couples didn’t interest me that much. Kim works in an office where he meets the new employee, Karn. Karn presents the idea of “drinking for personal pleasure” and they work together to present this as a theme for the companies’ annual meeting. As they spend time together, they begin falling deeply in love, and soon they realise that, even if their idea is rejected, something much better came out of it than they ever expected. Honestly, I would recommend watching this just for their public kiss on the bridge at the very end; that’s one of the most daring things I’ve seen a BL couple do. The acting was very good, and the chemistry was natural and realistic. It was incredibly heart-warming and I really enjoyed their story.

267. With Love
Thai Drama - 2019, 15 episodes
I enjoyed this because the With Love household was awesome, but unfortunately the series itself wasn’t very well done. This series features four couples; three of them are gay, and one of them is straight. The main couple, Nathee and Prin, first meet after Prin nearly runs Nathee over and later they both find out that they were victims of a scam and both bought the same room in the With Love house. So now they must share a room together while battling the feelings that begin to arise between them. The next couple features Prin’s younger brother Plod and his older friend Kaowkla. Plod has loved Kaowkla for a long time, but Kaowkla believes Plod is too young to understand love and rejects him. However, Plod won’t give up his love and fights to make Kaowkla return his feelings. The third and final gay couple is about Nathee’s cousin Thann and his ex-boyfriend Kavin, who now has a girlfriend but still has feelings for Thann. Kavin tries to get back together with Thann despite already being in a relationship and having feelings for them both. Overall, the three BL couples are pretty cute, but due to production value, this series wasn’t as good as it could have been. However, I would still recommend it just as a light, simple watch for something funny and comedic in your free time; just don’t come into this expecting a fantastic series.

268. This Summer
Chinese Movie - 2015
This was a very short film, and the plot is really strange, but somehow in a good way. This is about a boy who breaks up with his girlfriend, then later finds a stray cat. He takes the cat in and takes care of it until one day it disappears, and in its place is a boy. He decides to take in the boy too and look after him, whilst praying that he won’t leave him alone like the cat did. This has the same actors from Falling in Love with a Rival/Counterattack, so the acting and chemistry are fairly good. Aside from that, it’s not really anything special, but I just watched it to see them again. If you’ve seen Counterattack, then I recommend watching this just for the same actors; otherwise, don’t bother with this one because it’s not really worth it.

269. HIStory: Stay Away from Me
Taiwanese Drama - 2017, 4 episodes
This is another fairly enjoyable but rather basic season in the HIStory series, and it was actually quite sweet but a bit boring. This is about a celebrity actor called Cheng Qing who moves in with his new step-brother, Feng He, after their parents get married. At first they don’t really get along and argue a lot, but over time they gradually become closer. They are also drawn together by Feng He’s best friend and extreme fujoshi, Meng Meng, when she starts to push the two together to fulfil her own fantasies. But in time a big misunderstanding drives the two further apart; are they able to mend this bond in time, or will the distance end the loving feelings they once shared? This series was okay but not on the same level that the others in the HIStory series were. The actors were really good and attractive, but there wasn’t as much chemistry as there normally is. If you are planning to watch the full HIStory series, I would recommend watching this one before any of the others, because while this season is good, there are definitely better ones to make your way through after this, and I always think it’s best to get the worst ones out of the way before moving on to the better ones lmao.

270. Make It Right 2
Thai Drama - 2017, 14 episodes
The sequel to my first ever BL series! This is set directly after the events of Make It Right season 1, focusing on each of the couples Fuse and Tee, Book and Frame, Lukmo and Yok, Rodtang and Nine, Wit and Yok’s mum (yes, it’s as gross as it sounds!). Book and Frame were still my favourite couple here and were the most popular pairing despite being the side couple. Unfortunately, the plot was rather forgettable, so I can’t remember enough about it. All I’ll say is that the acting isn’t the best, some of the couples had better chemistry than others, and the style is very reminiscent of an older BL series. If you enjoyed season 1, then definitely continue on to this series, as it follows the same sort of path and plot points, but if you didn’t like season 1, then you definitely won’t like this. If you do decide to watch it, then I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when I first watched it, but don’t get your hopes up too high since the BL’s that have come out more recently are 100x better than this lmao.

271. Love Stage!!
Thai Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
A Thai live-action drama of one of my favourite Yaoi animes that honestly disappointed me slightly. Even though this features Kaownah and Turbo, the couple that I waited ages for to have a main role, this was an incredibly disappointing adaptation. This series is about Izumi, an otaku born into a family of actors, but his stage fright prevents him from also taking this path despite his parent’s wishes. He is forced to take part in a commercial where he dresses as a girl, and this is where he meets Ryouma. Ryouma is a famous actor who has had a crush on Izumi for years, believing him to have been a girl all along. The two of them grow closer, and Ryouma realises, even with the knowledge that Izumi is actually a boy, his feelings for him haven’t changed. I was super excited about this series adaptation, not only because it’s based on an anime I like, but because the main couple was played by Kaownah and Turbo, which I believe was their first main project together despite being paired together and known as a BL couple for a while. I have to say the main problems with this series lay in the directing and editing, plus the awfully translated captions. I admit I had very high hopes for this series, so I felt a little let down watching it, but it honestly could have been worse, and I don’t think it was awful, just not good.

272. Sunset x Vibes
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
I really wanted to like this series because I was hoping that MosBank could finally have a good series together, but unfortunately I have very few positive comments to give about this. This series is about Salin (or just Lin), who has been having strange dreams for a long time about a strange man wearing traditional Thai clothes. One day, he and his two friends, Pim and Yotha, have the opportunity to intern at a successful company that creates stunning jewellery. Lin has been talking to another man on a dating app for a while, and he finally gains the courage to meet the man in real life. What he didn’t expect was that man to be the company’s new CEO, Sun. Lin and Sun begin to talk more often, with Sun actively pursuing Lin despite his fears that they are now boss and intern and their other coworkers might view their relationship as unprofessional. At the same time, another new intern, Sam, is hiding the secret that he is Sun’s younger brother and will someday also work in the company as a manager. In their time as interns, Sam and Yotha also start growing closer. Pim is amused watching her two friends fall in love until she meets her superior, Prim. Prim is a famously known jeweller who went to the same school as Pim, and she is one of Pim’s idols. Pim tries to be around Prim as often as possible, helping her out with whatever she needs. As the two girls spend all this time together, will their feelings change from a senior-junior relationship to something more? The chemistry and acting in this series were the only good points I could make. The plot had a lot of potential, but I don’t even know what they were trying to do with this series; it ended up being so bad and cringey. I absolutely love MosBank, and they were the only reason I could finish this, but this had an awful script, and I don’t recommend it at all.

273. For Him
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
Amazing beginning, mediocre middle, awful ending. I’m so disappointed with this series because I loved the first few episodes; unfortunately, the acting, plot, and quality slowly became worse and worse till eventually I was watching on 2x speed, desperately trying to get through it. This series is about Nail, a man who has recently broken up with his boyfriend after finding out he was cheating on him, and goes to the bar his friend works at to get drunk. There he meets Him, who he ends up having a one-night stand with, and they begin sleeping together for a while. Eventually, Him wants to consider entering a relationship with Nail, who asks for more time as he’s still recovering from his last relationship. What Nail does not know is that Him had an ex-boyfriend called Blue who, in terms of appearance, is identical to Nail. Blue passed away from suicide a year before the events of this series began, and the reason Him approached Nail is because of his startling resemblance to Blue. What happens when Nail finds out about Blue? Will he still choose to be with Him, and will Him be able to see Nail for who he is and not just a substitute for Blue? As I mentioned before, this series started so well and was really interesting; the chemistry was amazing. However, it became clear that the directors and scriptwriters completely gave up on this series halfway through, and by the final episode it was clear that the actors themselves had lost all hope for this series. I really want to love this series because I absolutely love Dew who played Him, but unfortunately this was not a good series, and I don’t recommend it unless it’s only to watch the first 4-5 episodes.

274. You're My Sky
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
This was definitely a series I was disappointed by, which sucks because the plot and second couple were super cute. There are several couples in this series; the main couple includes Thorn, a basketball player who has had a crush on his friend and senior, Tupfah, for several years. He decides to try out for the same university, hoping they’ll make it onto the same team. Thorn is afraid to confess to Tupfah at the thought of being rejected, but maybe this isn’t just one-sided love after all. The second couple includes Aii, a senior working hard to get a scholarship to study in Japan, who is shocked when one day his junior Saen publicly confesses to him in front of his classmates and friends and starts openly courting him. Aii struggles with his feelings, desperately avoiding Saen because he doesn’t want to fall in love, only to leave him in the end, but Saen isn’t giving up and is determined to make Aii fall in love with him no matter what it takes. The third couple suffers a complicated fate; Dome has been dating Pan for a while, and although he has good feelings for her, he finds himself more attracted to Pan’s brother Vee. Vee has also been in love with Dome for a while but pushes his feelings down to not hurt his sister. Soon the pull between Dome and Vee grows stronger than either can ignore; will they pursue a relationship at the cost of Pan’s happiness? This series was great plot-wise but unfortunately the acting of several characters and the low budget ruined this series for me. I wanted to like it, but honestly it was pretty simple and boring. If the plot sounds interesting, definitely give it a try, but don’t go into this series expecting a masterpiece.

275. Trapped in Osaka
Chinese Drama - 2025, 4 episodes
I watched this mini-series because the plot sounded like exactly the sort of thing I would love, but sadly this fell very flat for me, and it seemed like they didn’t really know how to portray the storyline in a way that actually made sense. This series is about Chen Xi, a poor boy in massive debt who has completely given up on life. One day a debt collector, Hao Yu, appears at his door to collect part of the debt he owes. Chen Xi has no intention of paying back this debt since he doesn’t plan on being alive much longer, so Hao Yu decides to stay living with him so that Chen Xi can’t die and leave him with all this debt. But as the two begin living together, they discover new sides to each other and open up to the possibility of being loved. But the loan sharks will only be patient for so long. What will happen to Chen Xi, who has only just found himself a reason to stay alive? The acting, budget and storyline were very poor; the chemistry was really this series’ only saving point. Honestly, I don’t recommend this; it’s not very good at all, and I know that I’ll never come back to this series, unfortunately.

276. My Gear and Your Gown
Thai Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
Although I was a little disappointed with this series, there was still something enjoyable about it. This is the kind of drama that I would have loved several years ago, but BL series have come a long way since I first started watching them, especially ones by GMMTV. This series is about Pai, a smart medical student who moves to a new school with his parents, who own a hospital. When he is there, he meets Itt, who saves him from an attacker threatening him with a knife. They both join separate clubs, but the clubs they are in require them to share a room, creating some conflict between them. Pai begins tutoring Itt to help him get into university, and after their exams, they go their separate ways. At least that’s what they thought, until they ended up going to the same university. Their friends Waan and Pure joined them. Waan immediately fell in love with Beau, a member of the student body. Meanwhile, a boy called Folk began flirting with Pai despite his feelings not being reciprocated. However, when Pure and Folk meet, there is an immediate spark between them. There was a lot happening this series, but there were some good things and topics it raised, such as safe sex and STD awareness. The acting wasn’t also pretty good; it was mainly the plot, pacing, and lack of chemistry that let me down. To be honest, I don’t really recommend this series, but if you decide to watch it, don’t get your hopes up.

277. A Round Trip to Love
Chinese Movie - 2016
I say this in the nicest way possible. This series is very overrated, and I do not understand why so many of the reviews are really positive about this movie. This is a film about two boys, Xiao Chen and Lu Feng, who are both students at the same university and are deeply in love with each other. However, when their disapproving family finds out about their relationship, they are forced apart with nothing but a small ring to remember their fond relationship. Several years later they meet again, when Lu Feng unknowingly takes over the company Xiao Chen works at, still wearing the ring they exchanged all those years ago. They both realised they still hold the romantic feelings they shared long ago, but the universe clearly does not want them to be happy. Their once sweet relationship turns sour, toxic, and abusive. It’s such a shame that they felt the need to turn such a sweet BL into this. As long as you don’t watch the second film, I would recommend this as a standalone. Although the acting and plot are quite poor, the chemistry is pretty sweet and cute, and luckily it doesn’t really look into their manipulative relationship as much as the sequel film does.

278. Second Chance
Thai Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
This series was a very low-budget, small production that definitely wasn’t near the quality that we’ve seen previously. Despite this, I did genuinely enjoy it in some ways, but that was mainly because of Chris and Jeno’s relationship. This series focuses on Tonfah (Sky) and Paper, who are childhood friends. They grew a lot closer after Sky’s father passed away, and gradually their relationship turned from friends to something more. At the same time, we also explore the life of Jeno, who is a timid student that gets attacked by his ex, Arthur, and is saved by Chris. Jeno no longer believes in love after Arthur became abusive and started beating him. Chris helps Jeno get away from Arthur and reports him to the school, falling in love with him in the process. However, Jeno has already had his heart broken once before, so is he ready to open his heart again? The final couple (that I didn’t particularly care for) is Near, a student working at a board game cafe, and M, the owner of the cafe. They work together and, unbeknownst to them both, are lovers on a game they both like to play. However, after Near finds out M’s account name is the same as his online boyfriend’s, how does this change their relationship? The acting wasn’t the greatest, the chemistry also wasn’t great, the best thing about it was the interesting plot, and Chris and Jeno’s relationship. Like I said before, this is very low quality and not the best I’ve ever seen; as such, I wouldn’t recommend it that strongly, but if you do decide to give it a go, don’t have too many expectations for it.

279. Water Boyy: The Movie
Thai Movie - 2015
This is better than the series version, but not by much. Honestly speaking, I didn’t think this was awful, but it wasn’t incredible either. This movie is about a boy called Nam who is an excellent swimmer on his university’s swim team whose father is the team’s coach, but the two fight a lot and barely talk when they’re not training. He likes to party in his free time and is known to sleep around and have a lot of girlfriends. One day a boy called Muek joins the team and becomes Nam’s roommate. As they spend all their time together, feelings start to change between them. But when Muek’s girlfriend Nune decides to surprise him at their dorm, who also happens to be a fairly popular actress, Nam invites her to stay in their dorm for a while. Will the arrival of Muek’s girlfriend change the shifting dynamics between them, or will they choose to keep exploring this relationship? It’s a very slow, and at times a little boring, film, but certain scenes were amazing. The slowly forming relationship between Muek and Nam felt very natural, and the kiss scene was so cute! I just wish it wasn’t so clustered together because that ruined the film for me. Overall this is much better than its adaptation, Waterboyy the series, but it’s not something I would recommend very strongly.

280. Love Stage!!
Japanese Movie - 2020
A live-action of one of my favourite Yaoi animes that completely missed the mark for me. This movie is about Izumi, an otaku born into a family of actors, but his stage fright prevents him from also taking this path despite his parents wishes. He is forced to take part in a commercial dressed as a girl, and this is where he meets Ryouma, a famous actor who has had a crush on Izumi for years, beliving him to have been a girl all along. The two of them grow closer, and Ryouma realises, even with the knowledge that Izumi is a boy, his feelings for him haven’t changed. Honestly, this film had pretty bad acting and pacing; they just didn’t deliver the plot very successfully, and I was incredibly disappointed. The chemistry was pretty much nonexistent; it was a fun and light-hearted movie, but that’s about all I can say. I don’t recommend this at all; my only recommendation would be to watch the anime version if you haven’t already.

281. Pearl Next Door
Filipino Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
The biggest disappointment, while I didn’t think this was super bad, I knew I’d hyped it up wayyy too much, so there was no way it was meeting my already high expectations. This series is a GL spin-off focusing on the story of Pearl from Gameboys the series along with her two potential love interests. The first is her friend Karleen, who she has been friends with for years and in love with for a while. However, Karleen is a lesbian and, due to some bad experiences in the past, is rather biphobic and refuses to date a woman if she is bisexual. Pearl, being bisexual, confesses her feelings knowing she won’t have a chance and is rejected. Heartbroken, she turns to online viewers through her YouTube channel, where she meets her other love interest, Alex. Alex immediately expresses an interest in Pearl, constantly flirting with her and asking her out. She is very persistent and helps Pearl gain back some confidence. In the meantime, Pearl is spending less time with Karleen, leading her to get jealous of Pearl and Alex’s growing relationship. Karleen begins to express an interest in Pearl despite her being in the beginning stage of moving on. Pearl now has a choice: should she return and give her old love Karleen a chance, or should she move on to the new girl Alex, making her feel loved and happy again? I didn’t like this series, mainly because I think Pearl made the wrong choice, and the acting felt a little too over the top. Like I said, it wasn’t a bad series, but I wouldn’t rate it very high either.

282. The Middleman's Love
Thai Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
Ummmm… This was a huge disappointment to me, and I’m not sure how I feel. This is the sequel to Bed Friend the series focusing on the character of Jade and his intern Mai. Jade is used to being the middleman, watching everyone around him fall in love and helping them with their romantic endeavours whilst never finding a lover of his own. When Mai comes along, Jade mistakes his flirting for kindness and believes Mai has a crush on another intern, Gus, and decides to help them get together; meanwhile, Mai is confused and wonders how to show Jade that the one he has a crush on isn’t Gus but Jade. Meanwhile, Gus is immediately drawn to the other new intern, Tong. However, Tong is very quiet and comes across as rude; no matter how hard Gus tries to get Tong to come out of his shell, Tong just begins to avoid him. Sometimes people don’t realise what they have until they have lost it. When Jade rejects Mai after his confession, he does not realise how much he cared for Mai until Mai begins to avoid him. When Gus has had enough of trying to woo Tong and leaves him alone, Tong realises how much he misses Gus’s company. Can both couples accept their feelings and reignite the spark between them, or will they decide that their love won’t work out and go their separate ways? This was bad; I don’t have any other way to say it, so I’ll be blunt. This was so cringey, and the acting was so bad that I was left extremely disappointed. Many of us were waiting and anticipating this series, but unfortunately it was a complete letdown. I definitely would not recommend this series.

283. ReminderS
Thai Drama - 2019, 3 episodes
This was kinda strange in both a good and a bad way. This series is quite short overall and features Phun and Noh from Love Sick the series, exploring more of their future after the end of their series. This also has Saint, Perth, Mean, and Plan, who played Pete, Ae, Tin, and Can in Love By Chance the series, but in here they play different characters but with the same/similar relationship dynamics as their characters in Love By Chance. This was not a continuation of Love Sick or Love By Chance, and I honestly don’t really get the point of it. There’s not really a solid plot, so I can’t write much about it, but as it’s only short, if you have seen Love Sick and Love By Chance and wanted to see the main pairings again, I would suggest watching it for yourself and seeing what you think. Aside from that, even though the acting and chemistry are great as expected, I personally don’t recommend this very strongly, as it was quite strange and forgettable, not something I’ll ever go back and rewatch.
-
284. U-Prince: Firstclass
Thai Drama - 2017, 4 episodes
This one isn’t really a BL; it just features a gay side couple, but they are pretty cute, so I added it to the list. This is about a girl called Minute, who is very rich, self-centred, and spoilt. One day her family goes bankrupt, so she moves in with her gay best friend BM, who is moving out to live with his boyfriend Pitcher. This leaves Minute living with BM’s brother Firstclass, who is very serious, strict, and punctual. However, Minute and Firstclass cannot stand each other, so how are they going to be able to cope living under the same roof? This was fairly good, and the relationships were really sweet. My only complaint is the overuse of the word “rape,” as they claimed they were being raped when someone tried to kiss them. I feel like saying things like this dampens the meaning of the actual word and its implications. Other than that, it’s good, but BM needs to get his priorities straight!!! The acting was pretty good too, but if you’re planning to watch this just for the BL aspects, I wouldn’t bother since they don’t have many scenes, but if you don’t mind their lack of scenes and the plot sounds interesting to you, then I would recommend giving it a go and seeing what you think.
-
285. Udagawachou de Matteteyo
Japanese Movie - 2015
I wasn’t sure if I should include this one or not, but I really wanted to since it’s an interesting queer love story. This is about a boy called Momose, who is walking down the street one day when he sees his male classmate, Yashiro, dressed as a girl with a dress and wig. Momose continues to observe him for a while before approaching him and confessing his attraction towards Yashiro. Meanwhile, Yashiro is embarrassed that Momose has discovered his secret and tries to avoid him, but Momose won’t let him go and brings him different outfits to wear, threatening to tell people about Yashiro’s secret unless he lets Momose kiss him. Although the relationship was very weird and messed up in the beginning, it ends on a really cute note that was so adorable! I honestly wouldn’t consider this a BL, and I would say it’s more of a transgender love story, but that didn’t take away from the cute moments of it. I think this is a movie you will need to try for yourself to see if you like it, but if you stick through it to the end, you may quite enjoy it like I did.

286. Kiseki Chapter 2
Thai Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
Okay, listen. Was this series good? Not even a little bit. Do I recommend it? Not at all. Have I rewatched this MANY times? Yep… I don’t know how to describe this other than saying it’s so bad that it’s a great watch whilst still being terrible lmao. This series is basically like a travel guide/advertisement exploring Japan. P has lived in Japan for a while and invites his friend BeBoy to stay with them. There they meet the twins Pan and Plai (these are all the actor’s real names, btw). The twins haven’t been able to find any accommodation, so BeBoy impulsively invites them to stay at P’s house after learning they are all from Thailand. The twins are sceptical but agree, to the annoyance of P. But as the four live together, P grows considerably closer to Pan, while BeBoy and Plai are spending a lot of time together. What happens when the twins’ holiday is up and they need to return back to Thailand? How will these growing relationships survive the distance? I will be honest and say this was pretty terrible, and yet part of me really likes it. The chemistry between P and Pan was amazing (which makes sense when you find out they are together in real life), but honestly the great chemistry and steamy scenes are the only saving points of this series. I personally don’t recommend checking this out; I just hope P and Pan get better series together in the future.

287. Venus in the Sky
Thai Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
Uhhhh… yeah, no comment. I’m going to be honest; I only watched this series because I heard the NC scenes were on another level, which was definitely true. Aside from that, there’s nothing particularly great about this series except for Tod, the actor who plays Sky. This series is about Venus and Sky, two friends who fell apart after Venus confessed to Sky and was rejected. Venus decides to move away and forget Sky; meanwhile, his absence makes Sky realise he always had feelings for Venus; he was just too afraid to act on them before. When Venus finally returns home, Sky resolves to make Venus not only forgive him but also fall in love with him again. Venus tries to avoid Sky, not wanting to get his heart broken again, but will Sky eventually be able to bring down his walls? On the other side, we have Janus, Venus’s older brother, who has secretly been in a relationship with Venus’s rich ex-classmate and friend, Bomb. Janus and Bomb have recently started living together with Janus running his own convenience store. However, this job isn’t doing so well at the moment, and Janus is afraid to tell Bomb because he doesn’t want Bomb to feel like he is taking advantage of his wealth. But Bomb is growing frustrated with all the secrets and feels like Janus doesn’t trust him enough to let him help. Can all the couples come together and communicate better? Not really; the acting and plot were far too stiff, and I honestly didn’t enjoy this series very much. I don’t really recommend it unless you also want to watch the insane NC scenes, which were very realistic (and a little cringey at times).

288. Golden Blood
Thai Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
I gave this quite a generous rating because I loved the side couple and storyline, but it was honestly the acting that let me down in this series. This is about a boy called Sky, who is the son of a mafia boss. One day his father gets into an argument with another boss, and he sends his adopted son, Sun, to be Sky’s bodyguard. When Sky first meets Sun, he instantly hates him because he’s now being forced to live with him and is constantly shadowed by him, never allowed to be too far apart from his side. But after Sun is injured while saving his life, Sky sees him in a new light, and they finally start to become friends. As time goes on, Sky and Sun begin to develop feelings for each other, but with their lives in danger and Sky’s unsupportive father, how will their relationship turn out? Although I really like Gun and was excited to see him here in a main role, he really let me down as his acting was just straight-up bad, and Boat was also rather stiff and expressionless, making scenes between them quite awkward and boring at times. In my opinion, the only good part of this series was the side couple, Bank and Pitch, who, despite barely having any moments, together were so sweet and cute. I loved them a lot and wished we could have seen more of them or got a spin-off just focusing on their relationship. Overall, I don’t recommend this series at all; it had bad acting and was pretty forgettable. The side couple was the best thing about this series, and that’s all I’ll say.

289. The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese
Japanese Movie - 2020
Honestly, I’m really surprised at how popular this movie was; I didn’t enjoy this anywhere near as much as everyone else seemed to. This movie is about Otomo Kyoichi, who, despite being married, continually has affairs with other women. One day he meets Imagase Wataru, who he went to university with, and finds out that Wataru works for a “jack-of-all-trades” company that does anything their clients require. Wataru tells Kyoichi that his wife has hired him to investigate if Kyoichi is cheating on her. Wataru tells Kyoichi that he won’t tell his wife anything as long as Kyoichi is willing to kiss and sleep with him in return. I honestly didn’t enjoy this movie or their relationship; it was so manipulative and bad that I was disappointed. Because of this I don’t recommend it at all; although the acting was great and the chemistry was okay, the plot completely ruined it for me. This does have some quite good ratings, though, so if this sounds like something you would be interested in, then I suggest giving it a go and seeing what you think of it.

290. Irresistible Love: Secret of the Valet
Chinese Movie - 2016
Despite its popularity at the time of its release, I wasn’t a huge fan of this movie, and although it had potential, I felt rather let down by it. This is about an orphan called Shu Nian who one day meets a boy called Xie Yan who adopts him into the family despite both being young boys around the same age, and the two grow up doing everything together. Then we skip ahead 20 years later after he returns from studying abroad for 6 years with a girlfriend, Jiang Yao, who he later breaks up with. During a meeting, Shu Nian meets Ke Luo, another orphan, and they become close. Meanwhile, Jiang Yao plots her revenge against Shu Nian after finding out his secret, that he’s gay. Xie Yan is homophobic, and after discovering his sexuality, he kicks Shu Nian out. However, he later realises he’s made a mistake by throwing out the only person who can keep him calm and rational and begins to see him in a different light. I never understood the hype with this drama, but there have been some quite high ratings, so I guess it’s a film you either love or hate. The acting was pretty good, and I guess the chemistry was okay, but the plot and weird pacing threw me off, and I didn’t really like it that much and wouldn’t recommend it very highly.

291. 2 Brothers
Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
This wasn’t perfect, but I liked some aspects of this series, so it was relatively enjoyable for a bromance series (not a BL!). This is about Pete, a handsome businessman who begins searching for his new brother, Phat. Pete’s grandmother is in the hospital with a tumour and refuses to get treatment after her son and his new wife left after a family brawl and hasn’t visited for over 15 years. The only way he can identify Phat is by a necklace that the grandmother gave the family after they left. Eventually the search leads him to Tony, a young beggar living a poor lifestyle while carrying the necklace. Pete discovers that his grandmother’s son and wife, along with their child, had all died 10 years ago. Tony and Pete were good friends, and Phat gave Tony his necklace before he died. Pete asks Tony if he will come back with him and convince his grandmother that Tony is her nephew, so she will accept the treatment. However, when Pete’s power-hungry uncle steps in after discovering their secret, how long can they avoid the truth before all is revealed? The plot of this series was quite enjoyable and worth a watch, but I wouldn’t hype this up very much as it was a little too typical and cheesy for my liking. The acting was very poor, and the bromance between Pete and Tony was cute but not that great. Although I did enjoy watching this, it’s not something I’ll ever rewatch or recommend to others; all in all, it was quite forgettable.

292. Capture Lover
Chinese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
Sadly, this was very low-budgeted with quite a bad acting choice; however, the main couple was really handsome and acted well, which made this series bearable enough to finish. This drama tells the story of Ding Junjie, the deputy general manager of a cosmetics company, and Ying Jiaming, the son of the chairman of the board. Although the two fight like cats and dogs, after a small misunderstanding they gradually grow closer and see each other as more than the annoying boss and calm employee they viewed each other as before. Despite the low budget, some bad actors, and a short but weird plot line towards the end, it actually wasn’t too bad. I think the main couple did have a lot of chemistry, and I thought they were both (but Junjie in particular) really handsome. If it had a better budget and had some better actors, I think they could have pulled it off, but sadly the story fell short because the script was all over the place. I’m glad I watched it despite the bad reviews, but I won’t be rating it very high or recommending it at all.

293. En of Love: TOSSARA
Thai Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
I honestly feel so bad for the main actors because of how much hate this series got. Although this series had many shortcomings, I did enjoy it a little bit; certain scenes were really fun and sweet. This is about Gun Tossakan, who is a medical student that one day finds an engineering gear on the floor. Later on Facebook he sees an account asking if anyone has found one, which turns out to be Bar Sarawut, the boy Gun has had a crush on for years. He approaches Bar and tells him he found his gear and he will return it only if Bar lets Gun flirt with him. Bar is hesitant but says yes to get his gear back. However, how long will it take before he gives Gun his gear to keep, along with a confession of love? Win, who played Gun, wasn’t a very good actor, and I will admit that even though the hate he got based on his acting and looks was disgusting. I know that he wasn’t as handsome as Gun was described as being; in the series, they described Gun as looking fair-skinned with muscles, while the actor Win looked nothing like that, and his acting wasn’t the best. However, Folk, who played Bar, was such a good actor and so good-looking I was actually intimidated. If you watch it, you probably won’t like it that much, but the last two episodes were pretty good, and the series itself is pretty short, so I would suggest if you’re interested, give it a go and see what you think.

294. Bad Romance
Thai Drama - 2016, 13 episodes
This is based after the events of Together With Me the series, and technically you are supposed to watch this one first (which I did not do lmao), so you can start with either one. This is based on a college girl named Yihwa who has no interest in boys or dating, viewing a boyfriend as like an accessory you use to show off without actually loving. One day she joins her friends in celebrating her best friend Korn’s anniversary with his boyfriend Knock. This is when Knocks best friend Cho shows up and expresses an interest in Yihwa. The only problem is, she thinks Cho is gay and likes Knock. Will Cho be able to prove himself to Yihwa, and will she finally open her heart to love? This is a pretty interesting series with some really weird plot twists. If you are looking for a serious, realistic BL series, then avoid this one at all costs lmao. This is funny and weird; it’s not an awful series but definitely not one I’d recommend that strongly. The BL is only on the side, so I would recommend watching Together With Me instead and skipping this one. However, the ending of this one is so cute it actually made me cry, so if you’re interested, try watching Together With Me, then come back to this series episode 13 and watch the last 15 minutes (around 1 hour 2 minutes in). You won’t regret it!

295. Han Zi Gao: The Male Queen
Chinese Movie - 2016
I really wanted to like this film, and while I loved the scenery and setting, the acting and plot were very lacking for me. This is about Han Man Yi, a 16-year-old commoner who is attacked by soldiers one day but saved by General Chen Zi Hua. He gives Man Yi the name Han Zi Gao and gives him two options: he can take some money and leave or stay by his side and serve him. Having witnessed the death of his friend, he is too fearful to leave and decides to stay and serve the General. He soon becomes his favourite “concubine” and begins to teach him how to use the sword, how to fire a bow and arrow, and how to play the guqin. Over time feelings begin to grow between them, but how long can it last with jealousy looming over their heads? Although the acting wasn’t the best, the actors were really handsome, and I loved the scenery and costumes so much. It wasn’t the best film I’ve ever seen, not by far, but it wasn’t actually THAT bad, and I’m glad I watched it, even if I wouldn’t recommend it very strongly.

296. Red Wine in the Dark Night
Thai Movie - 2015
Okay… This movie was incredibly disturbing, and the plot was kinda messy, yet there’s still something interesting about it. This film is about a boy called Wine who is dumped by his boyfriend Tee, who cannot admit his sexuality. One day, Wine meets a boy he names Night/Nam, who has amnesia. A bond is created between them until Wine realises Night is a vampire. When Night starts to get thirsty, Wine lets Night drink his blood and begins taking care of him. In the meantime, Tee and Boy, a businessman who had loved Wine for a long time, were both trying to get back with Wine. However, Wines heart remains with Night, so he decides to kidnap Tee and Boy, using them to give Night the blood he needs. The plot may have been weird, and (spoiler alert) there is a sad ending, which I’m not the biggest fan of. However, the acting was really good, the series was well budgeted, and the actors played their parts perfectly. The music was also really good, and admittedly, there were some cute, light-hearted moments with a few light sex scenes. I don’t think I could ever rewatch it, and I don’t recommend it very highly, but if you are someone that likes BL, the supernatural, violence, and kidnapping, then you could give it a go and see what you think.

297. A Round Trip to Love Part 2
Chinese Movie - 2016
This is the sequel to A Round Trip To Love, which continues after the events of the first film and is where the toxicity really stepped up. Xiao Chen and Lu Feng can only be happy for so long until Xiao Chen’s mother finds out about their relationship and collapses from shock. Xiao Chen’s brother, Cheng Yi Chen, is mad and starts a fight with Lu Feng, which backfires after Lu Feng pushes him into the corner of a table, which left him paralysed. Xiao Chen is heartbroken and breaks up with Lu Feng, moving in with his brother and brother’s lover, Qin Lang, to seek treatment for Yi Chen. Lu Feng does not believe he is in the wrong for what happened, and because of this, he ends up drugging and kidnapping Xiao Chen, locking him in a house far away from his family. There he assaults and rapes him multiple times out of “love.”. In the end, Yi Chen and Qin Lang manage to locate them and call the police. The question is, will they make it in time to save Xiao Chen? Unfortunately, this film did not have a happy ending, and it ended up being a complete disappointment for me. The acting is great, and I’ll admit the chemistry and tension between them was on another level, but the gross and disturbing plot completely ruined this for me, and because of that, I don’t recommend this film at all.

298. Dark Blue and Moonlight
Taiwanese Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
This show started absolutely amazing and was very popular among BL fans at the time of its release, but in my opinion, the plot went downhill very quickly and became almost unbearable to watch for me. This series is about a boy called Hai Qing, who dreams of becoming an artist despite his father’s disapproval. He sees Yan Fei at a swimming pool and takes a picture of him, then later on he saves him from drowning while his instructor is busy flirting with some girls. After this, Yan Fei kisses Hai Qing to thank him and gets his phone number. Unfortunately, Hai Qing’s phone is later thrown into the swimming pool, and he loses Yan Fei’s number. Yan Fei has a boyfriend, Jimmy, who he begins to fall out of love with, while Hai Qing eventually gets his own boyfriend, Ping Jun. Hai Qing and Yan Fei believe they won’t meet again but are proved wrong when Ping Jun’s sister starts working at Yan Fei’s company, and they meet again. Will their individual relationships keep them apart, or will they choose to keep chasing each other and break their partners hearts in the process? The acting and chemistry were both great, but this series is very slow-paced, and I felt really sorry for Ping Jun. I want to be clear that I absolutely hate series like this because I feel like they try to normalise cheating, which is not okay. I also had no interest in Hai Qing and Ping Jun’s relationship, which took up most of this series. Overall, this is one of my least favourite BL’s and personally I don’t recommend it at all, but I know many other people liked it, so if the plot sounds like something you’d be interested in, then you could try giving it a go and seeing what you think.

299. The Moment Since
Thai Drama - 2020, 5 episodes
I’m so disappointed with this sequel, this is the sequel to The Moment the series, and sadly I didn’t enjoy this anywhere near as much as the first season. This is about Bay and Mok shortly after they went their separate ways from the hotel. They later meet at a different hotel to celebrate Bay’s birthday, but jealousy strikes after Bay’s coworker, Boss, brings his best friend Jimmy with him, who ends up developing a crush on Bay and starts to pursue him, angering Mok. This series doesn’t really go anywhere, and I didn’t see the point in it because, other than a bit of jealousy, literally nothing else happened. The only good thing about it was the good budget, acting, and the fact that the main actors are very good-looking. Other than that, I don’t recommend this at all; instead, just watch the first season, The Moment, and don’t bother with its sequel!

300. Sanaeha Diary Series: Buang Sanaeha
Thai Drama - 2017, 11 episodes
Well, this was quite dark. I watched this because I came across an amazing edit on YouTube (that’s unfortunately now been deleted), but unfortunately the series was nowhere near as good as the edit made it seem. This is about a woman called Mintra who is so happy on her wedding day getting married to the perfect man, Peem. But when Jack, a model, shows up at their wedding ceremony without an invitation, things start to fall apart. Jack and Peem have been secretly lovers for years, and now Jack is the presenter of the new product Peem’s company is launching. Mintra soon figures out that Peem is having an affair with him, but she can’t get a divorce just yet since she needs Peem’s money to fund her sister’s treatment and medical bills. She turns to Ton, her junior, who has secretly been in love with her for years, as a comfort and confidant for what Peem and Jack have done to her behind her back. Meanwhile, Jack is angry that Mintra is disrupting his relationship with Peem and tries to get her out of the way. Mintra, however, will not back down since deep down she still loves Peem and hopes that Jack will eventually give up and leave them alone. Peem refuses to choose between the two of them and forces them all to live together, uncaring of Jack and Mintra’s feelings. For the ending, I will say that Mintra gets her happy ending, but she suffers a lot in order to get there. Other than her, no one else is happy, and I’m not exactly upset about that in regards to Peem. They all get depressing endings that Jack in particular didn’t really deserve, no matter how bad his past actions were. I wouldn’t recommend this to someone unless you really like dark BL dramas; it’s definitely not for everyone, and I’ll never rewatch it, but it’s not an awful series overall.
