I was absolutely blown away by the script, the cast and the chemistry. The writers did an amazing job with this script. Whoever did the lighting during the filming was able to capture not only the night scenes clearly but also distinctively. The acting, the plot, the chemistry, the intelligence and the humor ar e superb. You get it all as well as tons of action and anticipation. You’ll shed a tear or two. You’ll be mad, happy, want blood and smile so hard.
The overall story is about two people who encountered hardship in their youth uniting to establish their own sense of love, justice and peace. The leads were both charming and smart. There were no senseless games or fights just pure witty and authentic commitment, love and determination. No cliffhangers, just clean and clear and amazing ending. 

I didn't expect this drama to be so phenomenal on all fronts. It's well written, the acting and chemistry of the whole cast is brilliant and than of course the director / production team did a awesome job. Worth while watching if you like the setting in the Republican Era <3

It's hard to find words expressing what a treasure this series is. A hotheaded artist and a suave businessman intertwine their lives against the backdrop of a bygone era. Beautifully made and brilliantly acted

This series does something that was never attempted before in any drama, and it does it beautifully: it takes us behind the scenes of the Opera world of Republican-era Beijing and lets us look closely at every exquisite detail that made up that world, from the precious costumes, to the colourful makeup powders, down to the clinking of the porcelains and the fuming cups of tea. The way this drama presented Peking opera is so vibrant, elegant, and romantic and it's so well incorporated into the story. 

So profound...no words can describe this amazing drama! Brotherhood, friendships bonds, teamwork, loyalty, courage and some sf, mystery and a bit of romance!!! It topped The Kings Avatar

A fantastic well written story, outstanding directed and acted.

I am not watching crime that often but somehow I ended up watching Reborn and never regretted doing so. A magnificent story   

 Applaud for the writer and the production team, it's a well made short lenght series, not too many nonsensical scenes, and the acting is good, it's not overdone, we got the comedic, thrilling, and romantic aspect . I like the relationship between the main couple, very realistic and not cringey! Loved the ML in terms of his love, support, belief and trust in the FL! There was actual logic in his thought process. ML didn't jump to unnecessary conclusions but sensibly walk through the gaps. Loved it even though I'm not the romantic type :))  

Based on true events:

A petty official in the Tang Dynasty is given the impossible task of delivering fresh lychee from Lingnan to Imperial Consort Yang's birthday banquet in Chang'an, a very long distance. He has a short period of time to make the impossible possible.  A fantastic story, great acting an suburb overall. 

Bc lots of people love romance, action or  xianxia they forget about the other well written stories. It's worth watching though 

Based on true events

Legend of Zang Hai isn’t the kind of drama you say you enjoyed, it’s more of an experience.. A story about revenge, it follows our ML who after witnessing the brutal slaughter of his parents, friends and family at the age of ten sets out for vengeance with the help of a mysterious group of people..

The script, direction and screenplay are just impeccable.. And the performances?? Absolutely out of this world.. Xiao Zhan’s portrayal of Zang Hai is unforgettable.. He fully embodies a boy shaped by trauma and driven by revenge, yet unable to let go of the softness he was born with.. There were so many scenes where he proves just how good his acting really is..

Noctis is a good review writer so I quote his words here bc my thoughts about the drama are the same as his, so here it is 

There is no denying this is a hypnotic creation.. Proof once again that even if the idea itself isn’t anything new, a genius execution of an exciting theme can work wonders.. Especially when orchestrated with immaculate rigor.. Every detail in the drama reflects a rare aesthetic.. It’s no exaggeration to say the drama unfolds as a complete experience..

The visuals in this drama are pretty good with some really striking shots.. And of course, BJT absolutely kills it not just in the action scenes but with a powerhouse performance overall.. The execution of the complex narrative structure is near perfection.. Time loops are tricky but the drama handles them so smoothly that while the story may feel confusing at times. In  Overall, this is a truly remarkable drama.. You can see how carefully everything was thought out and pieced together and above all, you can feel the passion poured into the drama by everyone involved.. And that’s why it comes across as such a mesmerizing work.. Beautiful to the eyes, ears and heart. 

Are you interested in the nitty gritty of history, this series is pretty unique. It shows you how the Ming administration worked, how different levels of government could be levelled against one another depending on their jurisdiction, how a seemingly small matter had life-or-death consequences for ordinary peasants, how corruption was widespread, how social inequalities created by land and wealth concentration within the hands of a small aristocratic elite could bring disaster to a whole region… It might seem abstract, but the plot and production make it very engaging, and embody these problems within the scenario and the characters.

This is a well-produced and excellently acted drama that deserves more praise than it's getting. I would recommend it to anyone who has an ounce of interest in Japanese history and samurai culture. Action-fans will no doubt find this enjoyable too. I loved  it without too much critical eye.
