Yi Hyun debuted in the entertainment industry with a supporting role in the web drama "Sweet Revenge" (2017). She started gaining attention for her portrayal of Jang Yoon Bok in the hit drama "Hospital Playlist," but her first serious peak of popularity was when she joined the casts of the dramas "School 2021" (2021) and "All of Us Are Dead" (2022). She signed an exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment in 2018 before moving to Artist Company the following year.
Yi Hyun also appeared in the two music videos, "뚝" by Jang Woo Young of 2PM (2018) and "After You" by Jo Hyun Ah (2018).
In 2021, she received the "Best Couple Award" at the KBS Drama Awards alongside her co-star in "School 2021," Kim Yo Han.
In 2023, she received the "Excellence Award", "Popularity Award" and "Best Couple Award" at the KBS Drama Awards alongside her co-star in "The Matchmakers".
