Ham So Won is a South Korean model, singer, actress and broadcaster. She attended the Dance program at Sookmyung Women's University but dropped out. She made her debut in 1995 with a role in the movie "The Hairdresser" and in 1997 she participated in the Miss Korea beauty pageant. She was cast for a few more roles in the early 2000s before she was involved in a huge controversy in 2003. That year, she featured in an X-rated magazine posing nude. Her pictures were a huge hit and recorded sales of over 500 million Won per day. However, her reputation was affected and the Korean government attempted to ban the publication. In 2006, she was interviewed at a press conference where she said she had no regrets for posing nude. That affected her status as a student at Sookmyung University as she first received a warning but was later expelled for indecency. She attempted to re-enter the school but the dean always rejected her petitions. In 2018, she married Chinese TV personality Qu Jiabao, who is 20 years younger than her, despite protests from their families. She now occasionally appears on variety shows in South Korea and mainland China.
