The 7.9 rating is concerning, but... the FL is one of my all time favourite actors, and I like the plot a lot. I wouldn't watch if these factors were not present (imagine a lead I didn't know much about or didn't like and a recycled plot). But they do exist, which means I'll definitely give it a try.
I did not like the FL in Snowdrop (that was the intent, I assume), and I've had a bias ever since. Not sure if I should pick this up considering this + my lack of interest in romcoms lately.
I've always wanted to watch this because I enjoy mysteries and thrillers, not so much melodramas, but I overlooked that. I'm 10 episodes in, and honestly? It's been underwhelming; I expected to love it. I'm hoping it'll get better, so I'll continue watching it. As of now, it's just an 8 or 8.5. (Personally loving a drama is equivalent to a rating higher than 9/9.5.)
The comments are also divided; half claim it's the best thing they've ever seen, while the other half dislike it enough to drop it. I hope this is one of those "I'm glad I stuck around till the end" moments.
I spoiled the ending for myself by clicking on the spoiler-tagged comments, knowing they'd reveal the finale. Sad endings don't bother me, but I wish I hadn't done this so I could "feel" everything instead of focusing on the "why" and "how."
I haven't been free recently, so I'm hoping this will be worth my time. I chose this drama over Beyond Evil, Vagabond, Taxi Driver, and Save Me. (For no particular reason; it was a spontaneous, impulsive decision.)
I'll point this out again: an 8 or 8.5 does not equate to a "bad" drama at all. (Anything above a 7-7.5 is a good one.) I simply wanted something phenomenal, you know? When you're short on time, you want only the best. If I'd known I'd feel this way about this drama, I'd have chosen another one from my list.
As someone who's sick of predictable-airing romance dramas, I'll make it a point to only watch dramas from this list once I'm free. (I only watch airing dramas lately as I don't have the time, and you can't really binge-watch them.)
I just want the FL to get custody of her daughter. No kid deserves a step-mom when the birthmom's still alive and cares for her child. Whichhh is not going to be easy because of her condition, but oh well.
1. How many 2023-release dramas did you watch? a) 30 Dramas
2. What country did you watch the most in 2023? a) South Korea
3. What genre(s) do you usually watch? a) Drama, Thriller, Romance, Action, Mystery, Comedy, Fantasy, and Crime.
4. What is your top drama listed in this article? a)Moving
5. What is your top drama NOT listed in this article? a) Bloodhounds and Death's Game. Bloodhounds was phenomenal, albeit short; it still had everything you could want from a crime/thriller, and the car chase scene left me gaping, which not a lot of scenes have accomplished before. Also, the character dynamics left quite an impression on me.
The second half of Death's Game aired this Friday, so I understand why it wasn't included, but part one was brilliant; it was refreshing to see something new in terms of a good fantasy thriller.
Here are other notable mentions: Castaway Diva, Revenant, and The Uncanny Counter S2.
6. How was your drama journey in 2023? a) I saw a lot, and by that, I mean a lot of airing dramas this year. (Out of the 45 I saw this year, 30 were airing ones.) I wish I'd seen more, but unfortunately, one has mortal obligations. This was a year of catching up and wanting more.
7. What is your wish or plan in dramaland in 2024? a) I want to watch more dramas from my list than simply consume all kinds of airing dramas. It is fun to watch them, but I have way too many classics to watch. To keep it short and simple: Watch the airing dramas that catch your eye; leave enough time to watch (slightly) older must-watch dramas.
This is also happened with me during Hidden Love, i gave 9.5 to it but i knew that show hardly deserves 8.5-8.6.…
Same, surprisingly, lol. I gave it a 9.5 too because I rate based on my emotions right after finishing something, and I did love it, but thinking about it now? 8.5 would be suitable; it's nothing extraordinary, just a good, addictive one-time watch. I should change the rating, but then, as I give pretty high ratings, I'll have to do the same with a lot of dramas.
I love time-travel dramas, and I did like this too. I just... don't love LOVE it? (ifykwim) I felt wholesome and at peace after finishing it, which is why I rated it a 9.5, but thinking about it now, I think the maximum it deserves is an 8.5 or a 9 if I'm being generous. Don't get me wrong, I did like it a lot, but when I compare it with my other 9.5 dramas, I don't think it's just to do the same here. I'm probably in the minority here. It was a good drama, but not a mind-blowing one. (I give high ratings so 8.5 is slightly on the lower side; my 8.5 could easily be equal to someone else's 7.5)
You will definitely burn out, lol. I was like that for probably close to the first seven to ten years of being…
Ohh that sounds wild, being a drama enthusiast for years and then having a burnout. Do you have any tips to help me ease out of the obsessive phase? I've already had a few burnouts so far, but I often have exam seasons, so that helps me with breaks lol.
But they do exist, which means I'll definitely give it a try.

It's not on mkv or dday yet.

And MDL isn’t getting rid of me anytime soon :))) 🫣
