The big difference which I think you are missing is that the girl was carrying a baby and when someone is pregnant, they tend to be hormonal and do things that don’t seem normal. In order to understand that person, your partner needs to be understanding enough. To add to that, she was scared to death because she was a teenager and that too in a small town where people talk about everything. Even though it is just a show, I clearly understand the emotions the writers tried to convey through her character.
Can someone tells me what actually happened when Li Xun pushes Zhu yun away for the first time? I mean when he meets Lu Xina and then takes away Zhu Yun’s shares and gives them to Jian Hong? I remember he says that does Zhu Yun know what he is doing for her? I mean they never really cleared this part like what exactly did Li xun did for Zhu yun with the shares?
I just finished the drama and I know what a lot of you are feeling right now. This show definitely has created a huge void that you all are looking to fill.
If yes, then you should definitely watch When I Fly Towards You (if you have not watched it yet). It’s by the same creator who made Hidden Love and The First Frost. Trust me and watch it, you will not be disappointed. As much as I loved TFF, it has become my all time second favorite asian drama because WIFTY is my all time favorite.
SPOILERwdym she spent a passionate night with a guy only to walk down the aisle with another guy just the next…
Based on the phone call she recieved towards the end of the episode, it looks like she was forced to get married. There is a lot more to the whole story I guess.
Yes, there can be multiple leads in a show. But the order in which you see the name of the actors on MDL is the order of their importance in the show. In this show, PHS in the first main lead.
I see what you're saying, and I agree that portraying the stigma in its raw form is necessary to challenge it.…
This show is a slow burn, it's meant to be slow. Just because the synopsis mentions that people call her a "witch" doesn’t mean the story should immediately time-skip to future events after showing only 10 minutes of past events. Any good creator takes their time to build up the story, carefully presenting the past events that will eventually lead to the present. While you were losing patience over the pacing, you may have missed how beautifully the creators structured the narrative—first showing the past from the ML's perspective in episode one and then from the FL's perspective in episode two.
The fact that the ML doesn’t interact with the FL in the past (up until episode two) does not mean he is reinforcing those superstitions. He is simply a scared high school teenager with a crush, hesitant to approach her. His feelings are evident—he defends her when his friends badmouth her, helps build a shed over the bench where she eats, and even visits her house to give her flowers at the end of high school graduation ceremony. I don’t understand how you concluded that these scenes "unintentionally reassure the audience that there might be some truth to the superstition." It seems like you may have misinterpreted the storyline.
The ML actively believes in and stands up for her—just not directly in front of her. In fact, he even chooses a career in data mining because he wants to solve this very problem. The moment at the end of episode two, where he questions whether PMJ is a witch, simply reflects the fact that, statistically, that was the only conclusion the data suggested at that point. However, statistics and reality are very different, and I’m sure he will eventually realize that there is always an unknown variable.
Only two episodes have aired, there are still eight more to go. If you're the kind of viewer who judges a show based on just the first two episodes, then this show probably isn't for you. I believe that this show will be a masterpiece by the time it finishes airing.
The pregnant female student just pissed me off. She treated her boyfriend like shit. He had to give up everything…
She was acting like that(In the beginning) because she was scared to death, which is how any teenage girl who is 6 months pregnant will react. She was furious when her boyfriend said that he will drop out to take care of the baby. She knew how much he was sacrificing and in the end she accepted his decision of him taking a GED later on. In no way it was the female students fault. From the moment they decided to keep the baby, they were both very good to each other.
