I felt the same away. the parents storyline kinda drags the pace. Made the story out of focus (should be better as minor flashbacks or spinoffs instead of full flashback), but the veteran actors did a great job.

however, what actually kept me interested in the drama, is Go Youn Jung. She gave life to the drama

hear hear. Yea i thought it was gonna be all dark and serious, but it might become like due to the invasion. I'm mentally prepared.

In ep 1, they have showed that "old woman" in prison, I think that might be Gil Chae in the future.

then we have Jang Hyun in his last stand, against bandits or bounty hunters. He might be accused for treason due to him hanging out with the gangs of Manchuria, Japanese, and Joseon.

this drama exceeded all of my expectations. I have never seen any sageuk like this.

At first i thought it has a boring start, but as soon as Nam Goong Min & Ahn Eun Jin showed up. WOW

this drama is more bright and more fun than I thought. I kept laughing.

and the music and the cinematography ARE SO BEAUTIFUL

this is definitely NGM & EUJ's best acting imo. I love how NGM looked at AEJ, with his teary eyes and smile. it's very sincere.

Jeon Hye Won is a side character again :(

I agree, i was like that too. After "See You In My 19th Life", I decided to give Mr Queen a try, and i was not disappointed at all! :)
