Wei Ruolai survived the Long March and continued working with Shen Tunan in finance.
I cried a lot during the last two episodes, especially when Wei Ruolai's comrades died and during the Long March scenes. I was really hoping the little girl NCM would make it too. Secretary Huang's death got to me as well. I thought he might cause trouble for STN because of his jealousy towards Wei Ruolai, but he proved me wrong by staying loyal and sacrificing himself to protect STN.
I liked seeing Shen Tunan and Wei Ruolai working together. I had a feeling STN would eventually support Wei Ruolai, but I was surprised by how well they cooperated (secretly) during the tungsten exchange.
I'm not sure if there will be a Season 2 or none, considering how far China still has to go before gaining independence from Japan. It's good to show the master and apperentice cooperation in finance industry. Either way, I'm okay with it. I'd be happy to see the cast working together again, even in a different show with the same director and writer.
Watching this drama was definitely worth my time. I wish it a big success! π
impacted my mental health ππππ SAME ππππ maybe because it is close to my history, im not…
Yes, in our country, the Philippines, we were also colonized by the Americans, Spaniards, and Japanese. One of our historical heroes, General Antonio Luna, was betrayed and assassinated by his fellow Filipino revolutionaries during the Spanish and American war, which is very heartbreaking. As I watched this drama, I could see how the Song family, especially Song Ailing, a.k.a. Big Sister, corrupted their own Chinese citizens for their greed. I also noticed that the most affected in this kind of war are the ordinary people, while the rich are the ones who are safe and enjoying the money they gained from the people. It's so sad that those with good intentions and those who fight for the country are the ones who have lost a lot π, referring to Wei Ruolai and Shen Jinzhen. Meanwhile, Song Ailing lived until she was 89 years old, primarily in Shanghai, China, with her wealth from the people, before spending her later years in America. I hope Shen Tunan will come to his senses and let go of the Kuomintang then join Wei Ruolai (I'm expecting a huge twist there). Anyway, I'm excited and a little bit sad to watch the latest episodes. π
Perhaps some viewers might find certain scenes to be somewhat fragmented, especially in the latest episodes. This is due to Chinese censorship, which limits the total number of episodes to a maximum of 40. Originally, this drama had 40 episodes, but it was reduced to 38 to remove some disturbing scenes. Many tragic events occur during this period, with numerous casualties depicted in the drama. The Kuomintang carried out multiple massacres, including the encirclement and massacre of villages. Despite these challenges, the drama is aligned with Chinese history all in all, as people in China who watched this drama has been discussung about the plot and the history that was shown in this drama.
Now that I've watched a total of 36 episodes, I'm contemplating whether Wei Ruolai will survive until the end, considering his upcoming involvement in the Long March. According to Chinese history, many soldiers perished during this event, though it's uncertain whether Wei Ruolai will be among them.
In the historical context, after the Long March began, Jiangxi was massacred by the GMD, disrupting Wei Ruolai's father's plans. Only 30,000 people returned from the Long March, leaving Wei Ruolai uncertain about his fate. Despite this uncertainty, it's said that only two people ultimately benefited from the bank. As the Long March (Long March, (1934β35),Β the 6,000-mile (10,000-km) historic trek of the Chinese communists) commenced, Japan had already occupied several provinces in China, increasing the hardships faced by the Red Army.
Regarding the ending of "The Storm Chaser," some viewers consider it a bad ending due to Shen Jinzhen fate. However, Shen Jin is portrayed as a devoted supporter of the proletarian revolution, embodying resilience and sacrifice. Her demise symbolizes the challenges faced by the revolution, particularly the failure of the fifth counter-encirclement and suppression campaign. This led to the occupation of the Soviet area and significant losses for the revolutionaries. As the Red Army embarked on the Long March, casualties mounted, emphasizing the harsh realities of their journey.
Wei Ruolai is one of the most miserable male protagonists, everyone close to him died, so he was left alone.
Anyway, a good drama aims to accurately depict history and present it for the public's viewing. It should feature uplifting and leading roles. Also, a good drama will make people think in different perspective. "War of Faith" is certainly worth watching.
This is the first drama that has significantly impacted my mental health (I'm not exaggerating π).
I just wanted to share a part of the letter Wei Ruolai wrote to inform Shen Tunan about Shen Jinzhen's death:
"...Ruolai failed to protect Jin Zhen. He is overwhelmed with grief and emotion. He feels no shame in asking for your forgiveness.
It should be 40 episodes but they made it 38 eps only. Maybe this is this reason, they edited out many scenes…
This drama is being broadcast in CCTV (one of the primary TV channel in China) and I think it has something to do with that. You know censorship... or they wanna make it compact so it will follow the provided date of the release of the last episode which is April 8
My guess is he really went to the 'other' side. I still haven't watched the new episodes but I've read a lil bit spoiler. Waiting for the battle of master and apprentice! I'm ready but not yet ready for the drama to end π₯²
They changed the the ending song of War of Faith. Major spoilers. Don't watch it. I regret a LOT. I don't know if they will chenge the international ver tho.
Gosh, I'm so frustrated to aunt Zhou. Wei Ruolai clearly told them that they should sell their stocks repeatedly and don't borrow money. But they lied and never listened to him. They're blinded by greed. In the end, aunt Zhou blamed Wei Ruolai. Tsk. Poor Ruolai, he felt so guilty
