I think the contract didn't mention which area they allow to air, otherwise GMMTV wouldn't posted it on YouTube in the first place, it's most likely after 2 episodes the Japan company just add that to the contract, they can do that if the contract has something like "The terms can be changed in the future at the request of the copyright holder". This is just my guess tho.
if no illegal source and left alone with eng sub, have to say good bye to this series...jp production did dirty…
They have been adapted things from JP before and it's working just fine, it only happen to this one because the Japanese company want more money I bet. So I don't think it will affect any future projects especially this situation already happen once and they aware of that now.
GMMTV has done some Japanese adaptations before with no problem at all, it only complicated for this one only, so y'all know who played dirty, I bet they don't even have the broadcast agreement in their contract otherwise they won't air it on YouTube in the first place, it's Japanese company who want to play it hard.Don't worry about upcoming adaptation, I doubt that they will have any problem, just do not involve with Square Enix and we are pretty safe.
It's true that we cannot watch this series legally, but calm down everyone, we still can watch it illegal (it's not like we want to do that but we have to), and just have to wait more few days for some fansub groups make the subtitles, maybe late but I guess that's fine. Just sad because we can't support them legally. ... btw I also watched Cherry Magic JP adaptation illegally because there was no way to watch it legally when it was airing back then π
If you think interfans matter that much to Thailand production companies you are mistaken.
I mean, they hold fan-meeting outside Thailand, sell merch for interfans too, and for GMMTV specificly they aim to go global, so it does important for them. In this case there is nothing they can do about it yet since it's an order from Japan - the one hold copyright.
It must be Square Enix with their strict rules, GMMTV are able to get F4 Thailand free on YouTube with no problem. Remember the pilot trailer took around 7 months to release. And the fact that the manga author doesn't even know about all of this, that is... insane. It won't happen with My Love Mix Up and Ossan Love since they're not hold by that freaking Square Enix company, at least I hope so, because Hana Yori Dango (F4) and My Love Mix-Up are hold by the same company (Shueisha), and for Ossan Love (TV Asahi).
So my issues with New's acting start now π€‘He just does not have enough skill to show the vulnerability behind…
Reply your last sentence: Yeah no one stop you to like the Japanese adaptation more, but it still has nothing to do with this series, that's the point. And you're using Japanese adaptation as a standard, they don't have to be like that, like a copycat. Also as I remember, as far the episode 2 of this adaptation, nothing really happened in the Japanese Live Action too (The rooftop scene after the party scene).
I have no idea why, but some people don't know the manga exists (still ongoing) and thought the JP LA is the "original"…
In the beginning, I had no problem with them not knowing the manga is the original, but then some people just being so annoying, they said this one has to be like this, that one didn't happened like that, etc. Sure, they didn't happen exactly like that in the manga, but why Japanese version allowed to make change but Thai version can't? so far I can see the Thai one will include more events in the manga than the Japanese one. I like the Japanese adaptation, it's my first Japanese Live-Action BL that I watched, but I don't like people use that as the standard.
