XY marries TSJ and leaves Xiyan. Chang Xuan accepts he has lost XY forever and will only be her Ge Ge forever. He gives XY the red flower which represents his authority over his maternal clan, the Ruo Shui clan. Which means Xiao Yao can summon the clan members whenever she is in trouble to protect her. He insists XY to wear the red flower on the day of her wedding to TSJ which she does.
The red flower is meant for CX's wife. So, XY actually marries 'CX' and TSJ on her wedding day. Poor Ah Nian and Xin Yue. They get nothing from CX.
Cang Xuan may not be a love rival but he has all of my heart 😭😭
His character is sad: he's always on the side line watching XY falling in love and feeling broken following the breakup of her relationship with TSJ and yet is unable to express his feelings for her because she only wants to be the only woman in her partner's life.

2. Chen Rong was conquered by Xiyan. It was the last battle that Xiao Yao's mother fought against Qi Yo, Xiao Yao's real father. She was 'supposedly' killed in that battle.
The previous young king of Chen Rong died in an earlier battle before the final battle and his only heirs were his two sisters. One was murdered and the other one Grand Princess Yunshang. Qi Yo became the Lord Protector, hoping that the child of the Grand Princess would one day take over the throne following her marriage to Xiao Yao's first uncle, or the eldest son of the Yellow Emperor or King of Xiyan. Little she and Qi Yo knew that her bridegroom had already been dead for quite sometime and was supposedly killed by Qi Yo in the same battle where the young king perished.
Qi Yo killed a lot of people who harmed Chen Rong, let's put this way. He was not a psychotic monster with a long sword and slash people for fun. He was a hero of Chen Rong. In Episode 26, FFB rebuked Chen Rong Xin Yue when she criticised QY.
CRXY is a member of the doomed Chen Rong royal family. She is probably like a county princess, not a royal princess.

Another scene in Episode 14 when he regretted his treatment against WXL and decided to cure Xiao Yao's broken leg. When he asked XY whether her leg hurt with his gentle voice but filled with sorrow, OMG, that one switched on the water fountain.
