Xiao Wu fell in love with Mo Xi in that novel. They were together building a new life for themselves in Shanghai. That is the best ending for both of them.

Mo Xi will always look after BFY and vice versa although they are not together.

Sean Sun. The pairing is awesome. In the novel, CWD treats MX very well. He loves her although he knows that she is pregnant with WJG's child and is willing to give the boy over to his biological father. In the end, he decides to let MX keep the son but MX decides to give up her son because she wants to remain on CWD's side and refuses to let her son grow up to be a bandit.

Title Gone with the Rain Spoiler
The worst tragedy is when sisters cannot reunite in their life time.
In the novel, they separated when CWD captured the city and made a deal with WJG so BFY was released. MX told BFY that she was pregnant with WJG's child.

The current momentum in the drama is rather slow. Although CWD's appearance has made Episodes 13 and 14 better to watch, I find the side stories are rather bland.

I guess the novel focuses on Mo Xi's daily activities so if the drama follows the novel 100%, it will not be as good as the current version is.

In the novel, he was handsome but with grey hair in his mid-thirties but a total rough person.

The Dowager Empress' scroll? Is CWD looking for the scroll to win favours from the Dowager Empress?

The school is not a college for courtesans. It's a finishing school for the rich society.

I really hope that unlike the book, Mo xi and FY eventually reunite towards the end. I see that they are changing…
If CWD is forgiven by the emperor. This is the only way for both cousins to reunite.

Title Gone with the Rain Spoiler
In the novel, MX and CWD never married. BFY and WFG married in the last chapter.
That is one of the saddest parts in the novel.

For anyone reading (or wanting to read) the novel. It's set in the beginning of the People's Republic of China.…
It's quite a short novel. But, Mo Xi's life is so sad.

What bad luck that the useless son wasn't the one that keeled over.
He survived all tragedies in the novel.

I think Wang Yu Wen was better in "The love you give me". I was never impressed by Zhang Nan in AMA, Court Lady…
It's the director of the drama. The pairing between Sun and Zhang Nan is perfect as their age gap matches the age gap between CWD and MX in the novel.

Hope there will be more in the following episodes.
Honestly, the interaction between Mo Xi and Chen Wen De makes this series entertaining to watch compared to Beauty of Resilience. I stopped watching that one once I had seen Episode 1 of this drama.

I've just watched the trailer on Viki and this drama looks like fun! Not sure about 37 episodes though 😮‍💨
The cast is rather small so 37 episodes are adequate.

I watching The General and I while waiting for Episode 14 to be available for me to watch. Sean Sun's He Xia is explosive.

In the novel, Mo Xi hadn't wanted to learn how to read or write.
The Bai family refused to pay for her studies nor she was interested in education.

I wonder why BFY hasn't taught Moxi how to read/ write, she is a teacher after all. Hopefully that will happen,…

This drama seems not suitable for you. Not sure what you are expecting when you started this. Personally I didn’t…
Agree but the story evolves around Mo Xi and her world is nothing but isolated in the Bai household or the college. That's how your observation has so far concluded.

But, from Episode 13 onwards, there will be more screen time with the MLs.
