I have no idea what to think about this series yet. just finished episode 1 and it’s not awful but it’s not super fantastic. ALL the tropes were hit like they were playing BL Bingo. it might be fun. it might be fun to make fun of. who knows.

I squealed when the sign said “Midnight Chicken” so I pushed it and went back and was like “The sign’s in Thai!!! Yes!!! nice shout out to an amazing BL series!” and I didn’t question it..and just when I thought it was safe to hit play, BOOM! here’s Earth! speaking Japanese! which I rewound a few times cuz my brain started short circuiting…then he disappears and BOOM!!! Mix?!?! what the heck is happening!!! This is the point I just started grinning ear to ear and squealing. 🤣🤣🤣 I really wish everyone could have had the same experience. :)

I had NO idea about EarthMix and it literally stopped my brain from functioning!!! lol. soooo good!!!

episode 4 CAMEO!!!! OMG!!! I had no idea and I literally had to pause and rewind a few times…stop..squeal…watch it again.

I thought about this a lot. even though my heart is with the asexual assignment I think that’s something very appropriate for Japanese culture and thus I’ve got to be okay with the Thai version too as thinking it’s appropriate too. but I love how she fights back and stands up for herself and no one comes to her rescue. i absolutely LOVED that part. I may have done some yelling and fist pumps.

whyyyyyy is this completely different from the BOOK?!?! all my favorite plots points are completely gone. Mai and Jade’s first meeting would have been subtle comic magic but they completely changed everything because now instead of being in parallel with the Bed Friends plot it’s set AFTER?!?! now we’ve got new characters to compensate for the changes and what is with the yelling? I’m going to keep watching but I’m a tad more than frustrated with all the completely unnecessary changes.
