I don’t think he in the end never left because he couldn’t. But because there is no reason to. This is why my most preferred sad ending is if it ends with death, cause it’s force majeure, there’s nothing you can do about it. This on other hand… I can’t imagine living my whole life thinking what would have happened if I made different choice.
