I watched episode 1 last night and this drama looks interesting. I confess I am only watching it because Jing Chao is in it. I know he only is a support role but I will watch anything he is in! I don't know if season 3 is linked to season 4 and 5 but the first episode was OK, just a light girly story so far.

I love the fashion style of Dr Qin Ming!

Mu Ze is the most interesing character of the drama because of his conflicting feelings and ambitions. Jing Chao's performance is once again outstanding.

Mu Ze loved Lu Aran, because she was smart and different from all the other girls. They were married and had a son together. She was more than a tool to achieve his ambition. I understand in the story their marriage had to go in a certain way, but in the second part of the drama, Lu Aran should have been more conflicted because she also loved Mu Ze before finding out he was plotting against her family. This would have made the drama more interesting.

The costumes in this drama are just beautiful!

Mu Ze was happy, with a loving wife and a gorgeous child. Why did he throw everything away? I didn't really understand why in the second part of the drama, this memory of happiness didn't make Lu Aran feel more torn between the two brothers...

I love Jing Chao's performance as MuZe: he is not just a villain, he has several psychological layers, his feelings are deep and conflicting. He is a man at war with the world and with himself. Outstanding performance from Jing Chao!

I absolutely LOVED this drama: it involves three generations of two families whose life are tightly connected. There are lots of flashbacks in order to learn what happened in the past, but I think it's quite easy to follow the plot. Jing Chao's performance is outstanding, as usual: his character is stubborn and determined. The only thing I did not like is how the drama tells the story of his first love: it's not well explained in my opinion. However it is a series I have rewatched to enjoy his performace again.

JIng Chao is perfect as General Fu Chou!

I had to wait for eng sub to watch this series. I have just completed. Entertaining but sometimes confusing. I know there is a Season 2 but Jing Chao is not in the cast so I don't think I will watch that.

Is there any way to watch this with eng subs please?

This drama is very well made. The story is compelling, all the characters are interesting with a fascinating personal history. Cheney Chen's performance is amazing as the main character. I hugely admired Jing Chao's performance as Zhao Qi Rong: so passionate and deep, detailed and impressive as the character grows up. This drama made me cry so much!

I enjoyed this show: it tells the story of 4 men with different paths of life but who always stay together through their strong bond of friendship. Some of the dialogues and situations might have been better written and the story gets unbalanced when it focuses mainly on the character of Tong Yu (played by Zhang Han). However, I think it's a good attempt at making a drama more focused on the male point of view.

This drama is sometimes slow and the story of Wen Nuan (FL) gets a bit too complicated when she tries to remember what happened to her in the past. At first the interactions between FL and ML are weird (but I am a Westerner so maybe it's my fault for not understanding it). I watched this drama because Jing Chao is in it and his performance is very good as usual: his character, Zhu Lin Lu is ambitious, outgoing and fun-loving. But in fact he is very sensitive, delicate, family-oriented and in love with the FL. I think it is worth watching the whole drama just for his performance.

I enjoyed this drama so much! I just couldn't wait for the next episode. My only regret, as usual, is that Jing Chao character, Meng Xu An, didn't get enough love or attention... Will directors ever give him a happy end?
