So . . . Man Er is not the brains of the operation, and she doesn't listen well. Her father tried so hard to warn her, but she didn't listen. I don't understand they made her so careful early in the series, but now she throws caution to the wind. Anyway, she's good at making money, just not good at keeping it. Well, she does get credit for her creativity, she just needs Shen Nuo to be her manager. Also, the other thing bothering me is Man Er should be careful . . . she must know that Wang You Heng likes her, and she could be seen as using him. I think WYH's father came to her rescue because he plans to marry her off to his son soon.
I’ve read some negative comments about the uncle, but I’d like to offer a different perspective. I actually…
She's actively searching for the antidote and trying to take care of him. She realizes she was wrong. However, it really sucks to see how her decision is making him suffer so much.
Overall, this was an 8.5 drama for me, yes it had flaws but I really enjoyed it. That says a lot because sometimes I get behind in a series just because I'm not motivated to watch the next episode, that never happened while watching this. However, I will admit it would have been great if they had cut unnecessary side plots. This series would have been better with 24 episodes.
While watching ep 6, I thought that HJL also had some "good intentions" for him (apart from doing it for herself),…
Still giving someone a mind-altering drug, even if you thought is what is best for them is wrong. What right did she have to take his love away? I empathized with her not wanting to marry him, but that was a cruel solution no matter how you look at it. So, when I see her suffering, I'm like... "yeah she deserves that." I've only watched up to episode 8 but I haven't quite lost my anger toward her yet either. It sounds like things won't improve much up to 10 (I will watch that on Viki tomorrow). But overall, her good qualities outweigh her bad. I'm sure that spoiled little girl will have to grow up as the series moves forward.
She didn't want to marry him, which is understandable, but giving him the amnesia poison was a major mistake on her part. Her character is just a spoiled and selfish child in the beginning. In spite of that, I think this is worth watching because she does have some redeeming qualities, she's brave and can be kind. I'm sure the writer will have her mature into someone we'll love. I don't want to say too much and spoil it for you though.
I’ve read some negative comments about the uncle, but I’d like to offer a different perspective. I actually think the uncle is being kind considering his suspicions that the FL is the one who poisoned the ML. If someone hurt my only living relative, I’d want to keep them away as well. Her mistake was major, and I’m glad she’s taking responsibility and trying to fix it, but that doesn’t undo what was done.
So, I understand why the uncle separated the two leads. At least he’s not trying to throw her in jail or worse take her life. The FL’s father also has his suspicions.
That said, it’s nice to see the FL mature and let go of some of her selfishness and self-pity. Her brother is a great motivator and role model. He’s the only one who doesn’t baby her all the time. Yes, her dad can be tough, but he ultimately spoils her. It will be nice to watch her character mature.
Her big brother gave her poison and said if she gave it to him, it would make him forget her. Of course, she was naive and took it not asking about side effects or anything else.
In episode 6 I really hate the fact that the FL basically poisoned the ML. She gave him the drugs only thinking about herself while failing to think about the consequences for the ML. I know I said I liked her yesterday, but this gave her several uncool points in my book. She doesn't deserve the ML. I'm glad she fought to save him, but that doesn't change the fact that she poisoned him. She feels bad, and she should. I will probably like her again later on but today I don't.
Also, the other thing bothering me is Man Er should be careful . . . she must know that Wang You Heng likes her, and she could be seen as using him. I think WYH's father came to her rescue because he plans to marry her off to his son soon.
