I'm curious to know why the main character had a connection with the dragon and who his parents really were.
I also wonder why the dragon is so angry toward the royal family. Or is that simply his way of trying to escape?

I think the princess is probably dead and that is driving his revenge to the point of madness. He's just killing everyone in his path. I agree that everything is tied together, I also think the emperor has something to do with it. He seems so shady.
