The Writer seemed to be promoting the adoption of orphans. WR & SJ adoption of a young orphan girl in the last…
Ditto. You hit the nail on its head. I was pleased with the ending. I would have even allowed NY to say she's healing so she can be a good mother to her son. I would have also shown her continuing to receive mental health care. It was also fitting to see JT also reflecting on his mistakes. However, I would have had him volunteering at a community medical center or something like that. He was a great doctor after all.
SU JI & U RI is indeed a heartwarming family drama. Although it has its fair share of flaws, I have enjoyed…
You all made watching it much more enjoyable. It was cool going through the ups and downs of the show together. Watching the longer dramas reminds me of the telenovelas I watched when I studied abroad in Mexico when I was young. I found a new love in K dramas too.
I was satisfied with the ending after all. It was fitting to have NY and JT off, reflecting on their greed while improving. The ending results for the family was good and I loved how this series promoted adoption. I will see you all in the next series somewhere else I'm certain. It was fun!
It was the same for me. Now? There is no crescendo or revel. It is such a letdown of an ending with no substance…
I agree with you. No one should feel forced to stay with someone, even when the other person is struggling with mental health issues. NY targeted him and manipulated his family for her gain, that is why HS divorced her. He even gave her a way out when he wanted to move to the US, but she refused and continued scheming. As far as the writers, they aren't as bad as some . . . I've watched others where the leads are jailed while the villains commit murder etc., and at the end, they still get the redemption card.
Women's reality check in Korea - Some of you are rejoicing that NY has been deprived by her mother-in-law of her…
While it's true women continue to struggle worldwide for our rights and equal representation, according to the data women in South Korea in divorce cases have made progress. Here is what I found using Bing: Best Interest of the Child: South Korean Family Law prioritizes the best interest of the child when determining custody. The Supreme Court has established a presumption favoring the parent who has been the primary caregiver. Parental Authority: Both parents retain parental authority unless otherwise decided by the court. Joint custody is rare, but the non-custodial parent typically retains visitation rights. I'm not claiming to be an expert nor am I saying you are wrong because women have a lot more work to do to gain the equality that we deserve. I just want to add this information for us to consider. I love K dramas, but sometimes they paint the culture in a very exaggerated light, just like our shows do in the US.
