Wish it could be more romance
Loved the acting, the music and how was filmed. The story is nice, nothing new, but dragging at some points. I wish it could be more story to the characters love. It was developed slowly, but not to much time to it. The writer wanted to show that they fall naturally, but it could be more romance involved and show less of political fights over and over again. Beautiful osts, beautiful graphics. I do love Zhao Lu Si, she is growing with every drama, which is good thing. Yang Yang - i saw him here more natural, than his usual. I really believed the tears of both of them in the last episodes, naturally heartmelting. Was this review helpful to you?

Started well but
The story itself started well and really expected something beautiful, but it let me down completely. The actress is so plain, i mean her acting and the whining character itself. No self respect at all. I do really wonder in lakorns, why women writers can come up with something like this. Mostly of the time the dramas, lakorns an romantic staff are watched by women, so as a woman would you really forgive things like that.
The ML sleeping with her sister and after coming to her and say "what i had with your sister is different as with what i have with you". Omg forgive me if i can understand such an overhelmed statement. Really? Having sex is already a pleasure, you kissed her, you touched her, you did all the things with another woman and you claim you love her so much. When you love someone you choose a different method of revenge. Also there is so much of unwanted physical contact to the FL, i would say as a sexual harassment, it could be good to have a bold man, but not to the point you feel uncomfortable.
Anyway this is my rant and i do understand that in lakorn this things happen all the time, but i still get frustrated.
Maybe i didn't love anyone to the point to forgive such a thing and get happily married afterwards.

Jing Bo Ran a discovery
This is a nice one with beautiful scenery. Very nice acting and Jing Bo Ran a handsome discovery for me, i saw some other dramas with him, but didn't pay so much attention. The series go well, but very slow.
Loved the places been filmed, loved the snow and part of the story, but i think it should me more imput from ML. I didn't like when the FL was pregnant and he said he will not be there for her. Even though they had parties within their base. I didn't like when they were in the hospital and his baby was born, he didn't go there to see her or the FL to bring her for him to see her. Everyone came to see him, so they could've make this moment very special.
I do understand the thing being is Special Forces/ army you have to give up more on your family, but for life events like this you should be there. In all China is only one person that can do the job? I just didn't feel his love in the end.
Well this was my rant :), but i still enjoyed it.

How can you re-watch a drama for 5 times or more...
I watched this so many time, that i lost count and this is just my opinion and brings me joy, love and happiness :). For me is the best costume drama of all times and i watched all of the best dramas.Prisoner of Beauty is a sweeping historical romance that blends political intrigue, emotional intensity, and breathtaking visuals into an addictive slow-burn love story. While it follows some familiar C-drama tropes, its strong performances and rich atmosphere make it stand out.
This is the first time i saw the male lead and to be fair he is not in my top favourites, but really loved the changes in him from a very powerful ruler to the innofencive child in him.
At the beginning i thought, ahh another costume drama of revenge and first couple of episodes you want to kill the ML at least a hundred times. The ML family was killed by the FL family and of course he wants every single member of that family to pay the debts. No mistakes there, they really been killed. Her grandfather decides to marry FL to Wei Shao, you can say is something that you saw so many times in so many dramas. They do marry and there how it starts the beauty of this story. The tension between the leads drives the narrative, especially in the early episodes where suspicion and emotional restraint dominate their interactions. It has very dramatic scenes, very funny ones, romantic and childish (not overly). The chemistry between the main leads is electric. Wei Shao at the beginning is restrained to emotional love—cold and calculating on the surface, but increasingly vulnerable as the story unfolds, the child in him hahaha.
Xiao Qiao - i liked this character that it was made so smart and really pulled all the benefits that she was taught by her grandfather, captivating with her beauty and this becomes both her weapon and her curse. She shines with quiet intelligence and emotional depth, making her far more than a “pretty face” archetype.
I love Song Zuer and i saw all of her works.
Visually, the drama is stunning. From intricate hanfu costumes to grand palace sets, the cinematography enhances the emotional weight of key scenes, some of them really made re-watch and re-watch and re-watch.
If you enjoy palace politics, layered romance, and visually rich storytelling, this drama is definitely worth your time.

Is not what it looks like
I went for a youth drama and find out to be a mystic very mature series. It touches some psychological issues, but i loved the cast, the acting and i felt so warm after watching it. I can's say there is romance, or to expect a great love, is really something different. The ending is not what i thought will be.
The main actor, this is the first time i am watching something with him and really loved how naturally he played, at some point it seemed like he was explaining it to me. Very nice quotes too.
Is not a masterpiece but i will re-watch it at some point.

How did i miss it untill now...
Not sure how to start as i had such a nice time watching this. Loved it completely and will definitely re-watch it.Chae Jong Hyeop is a new discovery for me, he has such a handsome charisma, impossible to resist.
The drama is about love, sports and perseverance for the things you love, in this case is badminton.
I really loved how straight forward is the ML, if he has to say something he will say it without taking corners. I believed in him from start till the end.
What i didn't understand through all the series why only mail female lead was blamed for the accident. The other girl/woman who was 22 at the time had fun, drink and went for skateboard itself, maybe the main female lead proposed it, but she is an adult she could refuse no problems, so why the other part was to be blamed. Only the male mail lead mentioned a couple of times as it was an accident. I think Park Tae Yang only fault was that she came with the idea to have fun and didn't tell the truth afterwards, but not the gravity to be blamed to such extent.
Another thing that made it worth it as all characters are interesting in here. Chemistry is absolutely gorgeous between Park twins.
There is a lot of sad moments in this drama, but not sure why it felt so warm to me.

Loved it form start till the end.
This is a mature drama with different type of feelings, and what i loved the most that i could place myself in all characters shoes and think from their point of view what can be done in such a situation. Also i quite like that this it seems as a real life, not with crazy people around and doing stuff which mostly of us will not do it - this is happening in a lot of series, just not real. The story is not new, but the dialogues are very interesting and smart. The acting is also beautiful and you go along with all of their emotions. Wei Qian Xiang (English name: Shawn) is a discovery for me from Nice To Meet You and don't know why he doesn't have more main roles, as he has a beautiful charisma and plays very well. There is romance, hate, revenge, no big misunderstanding and loved how the main hero explains why he is done that and how he regrets it for a long time, and the FL also loved as she didn't give in after a episode or two, but at the right time when my frustration was gone, perfect.Overall i really enjoyed watching it.

Waste of resources
From time to time, I watch Lakorns, although I often find them stressful and end up reminding myself that I should read reviews before starting a new series. It begins like a typical drama, centred on a love triangle — or even more complicated relationships — combined with hatred and revenge, which feels unnecessary but seem to be a standard feature of the genre. The male lead is an actor whose previous work I have enjoyed; however, in this role he appears unconvincing, with limited emotional expression and little depth to his character. His storyline feels overcrowded, as he is involved in multiple complicated relations at once. His former partner returns full of regret and in need of financial support, and, despite the circumstances, he is the only one shown caring for her in hospital, with no apparent support from friends or family. Why all exes don't have family, friends to support in such scenes. Afterwards, he decides to support his brother’s pregnant girlfriend, who is in love with him and even asks him to divorce the female lead. Not long after, her feelings suddenly shift towards the second male lead, which makes the plot feel even more inconsistent.
The female lead is portrayed as endlessly forgiving and understanding to an almost unrealistic degree, accepting everything that happens around her without question, usual thai lakorn.
One aspect that I find particularly frustrating, making my blood boil is the recurring trope where the male lead uses physical affection as a way to assert control, such as threatening to kiss the female lead if she speaks or disagrees. This is a must in all thai Lakorns and does feel repetitive and uncomfortable rather than romantic. Is the only way to convince a woman in there?
So that about it, the story ends, nothing else, no chemistry, didn't feel any love at any point, waste of so many resources.

Wasn't expecting to be so beautiful
I really loved the story and the acting of this drama. Started to watch it with no expectations and ended hooked to every single minute. Very well played by all the characters and filmed very nice, but the FL did the most amazing job. I will rewatch after sometime. It starts with a story which i was confused at the begining, but it all makes sense allong the way. In period dramas i always watch the ending first, even if i watch the 30-40-50 episodes i will not be as disappointed as if i don't know it. When i fast forwarded the last episode, i thought ahh what is this, but gave it a chance and no regrets here. I wish they could show a little bit more of their life together, how she beats the illusions and returns to reality.

Interesting, engaging, just beautiful
Taiwanese drama has gained international popularity over the years for its unique storytelling, diverse genres, and talented actors. They are so appealing to a wide range of audiences.I like Taiwanese dramas for their novelty and dramatism, even thought i am more into fluffy romance, sometimes i end up watching this types of series.
Also i don't really like time travel, but i've got hooked with this from the 1st couple of minutes. The story is very interesting and engaging, i couldn't forward at all, not even one sec. I enjoyed the love, the drama, the crying, the laugh, the characters. What i love the most in taiwanese film industry, how the actors are getting into the character so well, that you believe the story as true fact. I believed so much in the emotions, tears, looks, feelings.
Greg Hsu - his wide smile got me completely and made me to look forward for his new works.
I will not get into the depth of the story as it was written a lot, but is a definite must watch.
