exactly lmao, go watch your fun bls and leave us watch the deeper ones. there's no problem.
I mean, I like the lighthearted bls just as much as the more complex ones, so it’s not even necessarily about leaving us to it. You just have to be aware of what you’re watching, and understand that in a series like this, not every answer is going to be spelled out for you, and you might have to think a little. It just frustrates me when people expect the answers to be like spoonfed to them, you know?

I think it's 2002, after timeskip is 2014 (when Han Ji Woo's parents passed away) and To My Star is in 2022-2023.
To My Star is actually set in 2027. I’m not sure why, but it was. And you can see the date at the very bottom of the screen that Juyeong is looking at at the funeral home, it’s 2018-11-10. So, pre-timeskip is 2006. Plus, they talked about a series that was released in 2004, so it never could’ve been set before then

It’s really sad to see the bl community so divided. There’s people who only watch bls for the cute, couple,…
You are completely ignoring where I said “and more importantly the violence in himself”. Dohoe wouldn’t lift a finger to protect himself, but when it came to his father’s treatment of Juyeong, he picked up a knife. And then he looked in the mirror, saw himself holding that knife, and he was terrified of who he could become BECAUSE of Juyeong. And I’m not saying that’s Juyeong’s fault, nor am I saying that Dohoe is necessarily in the right, but I am saying that it makes sense why he would leave everything, including—and maybe even especially—Juyeong, behind. He’d always planned to leave anyway. And yeah, for a little while, he planned for that to be with Juyeong, but not after he saw the violence that he himself was capable of

I don’t understand where you’re seeing a lack of motivation, bc it’s pretty clear to me. It’s established that Dohoe does not like violence, and particularly that he doesn’t like people who inact violence on others. So then, does it not make sense that bc of the violence he saw in Juyeong, and more importantly, the violence he saw in himself, that this kid who’d been physically abused his entire life would run away and never look back? Like, where is the lack of motivation in that? Genuinely

God, these comments. If you don’t want a complex series with complex characters, don’t watch a Hwang Da Seul series. And ffs, don’t say you want to beat up someone who suffered physical abuse his entire childhood. I understand he’s just a fictional character, but that’s actually crazy. Like, please, use just like an ounce of brain power when watching this series, I beg

Okay. Please tell me whether the series and this movie have different storylines?? I have watched the series but…
no, they’re the same. it was realeased as a movie in Korea, and then split up into 6 episodes for the international release. I did see someone say they added a few scenes in the series, so we actually got a little extra

Title The Time of Fever Spoiler
It’s well done, but Kim Dong Hee is such a dick, I really hated the story. I liked Unintentional Love Story…
It’s totally cool if you like ULS more, but I personally feel like that’s a really harsh assessment of Donghee’s character. He’s just a scared kid who’s been abused by his father for his sexuality, and Hotae and Hotae’s mom were the only people he really had, so his feelings for Hotae—and Hotae’s for him—terrified him, and he ran. And yeah, it hurt Hotae, and that sucks, but he wasn’t doing it maliciously. He genuinely thought he was doing what was best

I don't really know what to say. It started out great, but later... I think there was no special idea for these…
It seems like you might be unaware that this is actually a prequel for a series that was released last year called Unintentional Love Story. The mains here were the second couple in that. It’s a much more lighthearted watch, if you’re interested. But yes, the really met at the end, all those years later, because Donghee moved back after finishing university

So much better than the parent story! Better acting, better characterization, and deepening of the leads. better…
I couldn’t agree more. This stands head and shoulders above uls on all fronts, and I enjoyed uls! This is just something else

no? i'm sorry but you could NEVER take this show to a queer person and say this is queer media. that's not a romance…
I am literally queer. Dayeol and Taehyun quite clearly have romantic feelings for each other, and express that, by the end of the series. If that’s not good enough for you, that’s your call, but that doesn’t make it queerbaiting. Kissing and other physical acts are not a part of every romantic relationship, and representation looks different for everyone. I’ve personally spoken with a-spec people—a severely underrepresented group in media—who have fallen in love with this series BECAUSE of the romance without the emphasis on physicality. You don’t get to diminish that because it doesn’t fit your idea of a romance, because you are not the only queer person that exists, and this series makes other queer people feel seen
CheyenneSun Oct 31, 2023
I get really tired of people expecting every romance to look the same. And I mean that for real life relationships, as well as fictional. Not every romantic relationship is a physical relationship, and that’s perfectly valid. These two characters were quite clearly romantically involved, and if someone can’t see it just because they didn’t kiss, that’s on them. It’s definitely a romance, and it’s definitely NOT queerbaiting, like I’ve seen thrown around more than once

Review A Shoulder to Cry On Spoiler
there IS romance. the whole show is about them falling for each other, and they even confess to each other. if that doesn’t look how you want it to look, then maybe this show just isn’t for you, but that doesn’t mean it’s queerbaiting. they are quite clearly in a relationship at the end
