i went back to ep1 and rewatched the first 20 mins and everything finally makes sense!! he said "oh it's you" which confused me back then and then he basically lets her go back in time!! They were standing there for a solid 3 mins before she got sent back - he totally could have killed her/stopped the whole thing. he allowed her to go back
