I liked imperial coroner too. There the story was better than this one but autopsy scenes were not up to the mark. But here I feel that drama gave justice to the word 'coroner' in the drama title. Autopsy scenes were really good. Anyways, waiting for Season 2 of imperial coroner.

Just now someone spoiled me on those scenes I mentioned above. If they follow novel, probably those scene where emperor looking at Yanli (side-eyeing him in ep 22) and his mom's flashback would make sense. Let us see. I am not sure either.

Slight hints are there. Like how he stopped ML when he was talking about brothers fighting over throne. Another is how emperor looked at Yanli in ep 22 and whole flashback of Yanli's mom, the way she looked at emperor when she received the title. Another major one is Prince Sui who hesitates to go to his father.

Then how come they don't recognise their husband? Were current emperor and brother twins?

Let us not trust emperor that much. He seems to have an another face which he is hiding. Like how in ep 22 he was looking at Yanli and that little kid Prince Sui (ep 23) was also not going to his father when emperor called him. That flashback from Yanli's mother seems like she knows something more that what it is (ep 23).

As a personal opinion, it did surpassed for me. The chemistry between actors is fire anyways 🔥 but overall story is amazing as well especially suspense. Also cinematography, bgm, visuals and even stylists nailed it with appropriate costumes and designs.

I agree that lack of subtitle and cut due to censorship has affected but that is not in the hands of producers or actors or screenwriters of this drama. We cannot blame them so if you bare with this issues then drama is really good.

They developed her character extensively in the last episodes so that they can kill her off and the audience would feel empathy. That is a silly writing. Character development should be done throughout the story and not suddenly before they have to die.
