Although the portrayal of Taichi's emotional depth may not be very strong, I think it's a bit much to say he isn't feeling anything for Kohei. Taichi becomes quite flustered, as evidenced by his reaction when Kohei said he would kiss him and by the hug in today's episode. He clearly values Kohei as more than just a friend. For example, how he spoke about Kohei to his other friends and his reaction to Kohei’s smile suggest that his feelings are deeper than they might initially appear

You see in my mind that would be completely valid if he really cared but he came back and who was his priority? Not Mirae in fact she was the last on his list when shes the one who has truly suffered the most because of this. I think a 2nd chance would be valid if he was actually sorry but thats not what his immature actions have shown. He is the reason Taichi is so passionate. We also saw how he reacted when Kohei told him to be careful. The scene where he was lost in Kohei's smile. We saw how he would yell his name and come running with a smile on his face. He doesn't do that type of thing with his other friends

the scene where he taught her how to ride a bike is EVERYTHING
