My defensiveness is a reaction to how you started the conversation. Your reply in my eyes is condescending and disrespectful. You can pick apart my wording however you know what I meant by what I said sure it came out wrong but you got what I was trying to say right? Just in case you didn't what I meant with my first sentence is I recognized you thought differently about it and then the whole alienting part was about how you came off very condescending and disrespectful in my eyes with your initial reply to my comment so I am not really exactly open to have a discussion with you right. Again you're absolutely putting words in my mouth and generalizing what I believe by stating "You DO seem to be of the mindset that magical things happen at midnight on our 18th birthdays...19th...21st...24th?" which I already addressed in my initial comment so you restating that gives me the impression that what I am saying isn't being heard and you aren't taking the time to understand what I am saying. (I did see you added the word seem in there) There is nothing illegal about it but that doesn't mean that it can't make me uncomfortable you're talking to me as if I am being homophobic which I am not. This type of relationship is very much a gray area right whereas not approving of gay relationships is pretty black and white at least in my eyes. It is a case by case basis which this specific case bothers me because of how they met right, like the dude was nice to him but he still actively forced him to hide him and all that right. To me that's taking advantage of someone which right out of the gate is a 🚩 especially since the dude is so much older than him right. Now if we are talking about it overall generally an age gap like that would make me uncomfortable because it could be an amazing relationship but it could just as easily be a toxic one right which it's either really one or the other for this type of age gap. So in general yeah it makes me uncomfortable but it's not something I would object to especially if I don't know them personally. If someone in my life had a relationship like this it's not like I wouldn't be open to it right it may make me uncomfortable at first but once I see that it's a good relationship then they can be right. I don't plan to continue this discussion to again reiterate what I said earlier in my comment. Your replies have come off to me as condensing, disrespectful, and I’ve already shared why I don’t feel listened to or that there is even the willingness there to understand what I am trying to say.

my issue is how the writer is writing his character he is supposed to be a main character but it’s like he just exists for the plot not really even as a character we don’t get any sweet moments or anything unless it is essential for the development of our main couple. I don’t know where you got all the other stuff from maybe I just misphrased something or worded something poorly

I mean western media is a whole thing in itself there is representation or representation has starting happening there now I was referring to specifically kdramas as I am unfamiliar with the western aspect. A lot of people that watch kdramas don't necessarily watch western shows you know. I don't like how his character is being used merely as a prop for the plot its like hes just there to be a filler character when he is indeed a main role

I would say no... the main couple has weak chemistry and the plot is so cliche and just unrealistic to the point where it doesn't make sense

ngl I was absolutely loving it up until the end of episode 8 but now I am honestly over the show its so cliche and unrealistic the characters are claiming to be eachothers everything but they can communicate and have conflict of the dumbest things and then the chemistry is so weak oml probably the most lacking chemistry Ive seen neither actor is giving and then the way they are using a gay character like we never get really any sort of representation in the media and you wanna portray him like this?

I didn’t see it as simping at all he was just being like a second older brother which makes sense because her brother and him we’re literally like brother it’s mentioned that they were stuck to each others sides. Besides the way he looks at her when she was young between when he fell in love with her is so different you can see it in the eyes so idk where it appears to be weird lol

maybe it’s the subs but to me he’s giving her a bunch of unclear answers
