Imo, people should understand that what an actor means. Their job is to act.
Playing a queer role doesn't make an actor gay, similarly like playing a criminal role doesn't make an actor a criminal.
I feel the society is more hypocritic than conservative. They are okay when with gay series and movies when not so famous actors are casted. But at the moment a popular face, decides to act on one all of a sudden their homophobia surfaces and they starts hating the actor. They write comments like, it's trash, didn't expect you were gay, so disappointed etc etc...

I haven't watched that series , and was not aware of him. But it just broke my heart after I saw a post on insta about him getting soo much hate....
I remember watching the trailer and being excited about the series.
But getting hate for just playing a queer role. Omg!! This is just soo unfair .
These Korean people are crazy.

Ikr.... people these days casually and easily label someone as a green flag or a red flag. So much so that this has become a trend...
Imo, learning the perspective is very important. Let me give an hypothetical scenario;

Let's say a guy has a very important interview that would decide his career. Then the bus he has to take didn't arrive in time and he is running super late for the interview. He is running his best to make it on time. Meanwhile, at the crossing someone asks him for directions and he just ignores that person and runs away.

People, would immediately start calling him a red flag because he didn't help the person and instead ran away also didn't say sorry. But we know that at that moment his priority was to somehow make it to the interview on time and probably since he was stressed out because of that he didn't say sorry. Should he have helped the person?Yes , Should he had said sorry atleast? Absolutely yes, but
Do you think he is a bad person or a red flag? .. No right... 💁
Why because we now understand what conspired him to act that way.
So I think labeling someone as a ed flag or a green flag is just not justified.
Yes, the situation or the act can be labelled as a red or green flag action but not a person.

For people who don't want to watch a queer series can not watch it. Nobody is forcing them. Why spread such hateful homophobic remarks to an actor, who just merely wants to explore a different genre.
It's soo disappointing.

That's the worst, I would have still understood if there was any scandal or something wrong with the series . But this is clearly homophobic. It's soo sad , how everyone is just bashing him calling him trash, gay etc etc.
I literally don't know this actor soo much but I really think it's unfair to just hate an actor since he is exploring different genre..

I also came across him recently and seems like he is pretty popular and this is his first gay role.
I researched some more to see if the fans were angry about something with the series or had to do with scandals... But it was not. The are just homophobic and don't want an actor who has acted in straight roles to do a queer role.
When I saw those comments, It made me soo sad.

I reported some of them, but was surprised to see there were soo many. Like they never end. 🥺..
Here I was excited that finally they are producing a high budget KBL (since it looked like it)... But now it makes me think why they don't invest in BLs. Because the Korean society is homophobic as hell.
