well... I think that the fact the they brought a cut out of joke was true but the after scenes were just Jack's imagination? i don't think they'd ever put such a lame scene ON PURPOSE! nobody does!

Also, Jack knew that joke died, but when our loved ones die, it obviously would take some time to heal... it was just hard for Jack to accept the reality!
