I get the initial surprise and the whole innocent angle but she should eventually ease into the kiss and/or eventually kiss back. I felt so bad for Yang Yang... he tried really hard to make it work, but it was like kissing a concrete wall.

Love O2O's kiss scene was also painful to watch, the female lead was like this the whole time (👁👄👁), eyes WIDE OPEN 😂

Personally I think its on par with Yanxi Palace, they both have their strengths. They are each other's natural follow up drama.

Helicopter parents are the worst, if she is so protective, why would she consider her daughter for a romance drama? Its really anticlimactic to get an awkward kiss scene after so much work has been put into a story, the cringe is unengaging to most viewers

Story of Kunning Palace, came out last year, still not over it.

I think a lot of people are forgetting the times, THE TRAUMA and how the ML was raised. This man's father was Duke Xue, he mistreated ML and tried to kill him, THEN XW saw 300 kids massacred in front of him only to THEN be raised and be ABUSED by Lord Pingan, the man that killed all of these innocent children. Afterwards he finds out that his mom tried to look for him and died of sadness, while his biological dad was sleeping around and impregnating the mistress. Honestly, I am so impressed about how well and REALISTIC XW turned out even with major PTSD. He saved and protected the FL MULTIPLE times, saved the Yan family and ended up freeing the people from a corrupt monarchy. Personally, I think the whole flag system is not for period dramas.
