What’s the meaning of red beans and fish? Did he plan it all along since when he bought the red beans and gave her the recipes? At some point he was about to text her then thought if it might be too early….what is it too early?
Are you talking about kiddo? It’s ridiculous and not even a big deal if he had a kid!!!
It just happens that Dr He likes the childish side of our SXF. I bet he finds her super cute embarrassing herself lol. When you are the one, whatever you do is just right. When you are not the one, only your presence can already be wrong.

Let’s pretend this girl was so clear headed. …Oops, this gorgeous doctor seems to have got a son. If I ask him…Oh! is that your son? Situation 1: HSY: Ah, yes, he is my son. SXF: Oh, I didn’t know you had a son. Here is your contract. I’m going back to work. Bye. Then processing this new info in her head…and maybe trying to distance herself slowly and maturely or she would appear unkind. Situation 2: HSY: A son? What do you mean? No, he is my patient. He just likes to call me daddy. SXY: (big smile, no misunderstanding) Ah, you are such a wonderful doctor.
It would be nothing if he said the boy wasn’t his. But if he said yes, it would be quite awkward on the spot. I can understand why she didn’t clarify it there and then.
Her later reactions and how they can develop things further depend on many other things including her and his personalities, how mature they both are, how strong the attraction between them is, etc. A relationship isn’t just one side doing the right thing and it will be enough. He plays a big role in this as well on how he deals with her sudden change in behaviour.

Is it really not a big deal?? A man with a son means ex-wife/partner who will be involve in their lives at least until the child turns an adult age, unless the woman was already dead (which could be worse having to compete for his love with his dead ex). If the ML really had a son and never mentioned a thing all these months of him courting her, it would be selfish on his side. She shouldn’t need to waste time with a single dad if she didn’t want a stepson. Also it would be irresponsible as a father if he wouldn’t make sure any woman he would bring in to his son’s life loves his son. With this little misunderstanding and the FL reaction, the ML would be able to clear that up anyway. He wouldn’t just let the FL draw a line without trying to figure out why. He should be overjoyed knowing she has feelings for him like Dr He did. If she was so composed and didn’t seem to be bothered by suddenly realising (wrongly) that he had a son, he should understand that he had to try much harder to win her heart.
