Now if we are back in the drama's storyline, homophobic and internal homophobia is a massive upgrade of character writing since the set in 2012 in Taiwan, it was not free yet at the time

1. Chinese nuance, the unwritten culture, Chinese people in gatherings always fighting for who pay the food first, and the one who took care the cashier was different than the one who offered the deal

2. No, the lights was indeed off when they were hiding in the closet, the entire conversation between JT and SW + Parents was under the light off, the zoom out shot where it's show the lights on is an "AFTER" scene, "shall we go out now, yes" , not in between

3. It's a convenience store, you would spotted so many paper hang around when they first showed the store when Wang went there for the first time

Yeah, the boycotting agenda is always funny to me, In Chinese site, the rating is somewhere 4 but if you read the comments, most of it are boycotting because the main leads appearance, not because novel itself 💀

I feel like the series didn't speed it up for them getting together as as "couple" as well, they are just in the same pace, the only shocking part "for me" is the kissing scene where it shows jiang tian didn't mind it while it should've been the shocking value for a character that been dealing with his trauma
Because their first kiss in novel was so so so beautiful, and they just throwing it like a joke in episode 2

And to be fair, we will still have THAT side of Jiang Tian coming, there's a scene in the trailer where it showed, I have no problem with the drama either way

This show is nowhere even near as my favourite nor did I trying to raise it but seeing ridiculous complaints like this, it clocks that this show isn't for them and I suggested series that would match their likey 🥲

Novel Jiang Tian is somehow homophobic bcs he has trauma seeing his dad having an affair with other man, so accepting is still his journey, but series wise, we didn't or haven't seen THAT homophobic side yet bcs he literally kiss Sheng Wang by the end of episode 2

The series may change some of it but they stands and stick to its own, the drama Jiang Tian version is still consistent with what they've built for him from episode 1, a caretaker, Sheng Wang was drawn as somehow bratty? And the series keeps it till episode 4

Also boycotting won't do shit because this drama was banned in chins to begin with, it's like lose 0 money from the field they didn't even compete for

I've lost hope in BL series since that garbage jazz for two, it's been months so imma try this one, seems interesting on how can they pull a step brother into a love story line

Yeah, we can see literally no impact whatsoever on those actors private weibo, their CP super group is so quiet it's like 5 people interacting eachother, their Douyin is the only one making noise but the main thing is, this drama haven't touched top 10 real-time mangotv, and their "likes" is so less than you'd imagine, not really, Chinese prefer Bromance but only if it comes from Danmei adaptation, Bromance like this won't get as much attention

It seems like this drama is a massive flop in China, that's so unfortunate, this drama is looks like being produced with a spectacular budget I mean look at those backgrounds actor, set place, camera editing etc, this drama costs a lot but during its premiere, it doesn't even near close to mangotv top airing

Now I can give up for season 2 of them going college 😭
