Does anyone know why he hasn't done a tencent drama in years? Tencent is not doing that great this year but they're still the biggest platform. All his current 🍉 are youku , iqiyi, or even mango.

I can understand when the platform wants to find new talent in directors. He auditioned for I am nobody and that director has had success in crossfire. For unclouded soul, at least the director has had a massive hit with the knockout and tsy has a very strong general audience appeal.
I hate it when he gets used and storylines get butchered to promote other people. DY and Fof were used to promote the 2ml. Quegu is trying to promote the fl, i just hope the script is logical.
I also hope these dramas coming up are big hits so he gets offered the best projects in the future and maybe some time to breathe, rest and recover.

Yeah, hesong is useless but he is popular enough to have a choice because he is looking at several scripts. I just don't think he's established enough to see beyond 5 episodes worth of scripts. For example, he chose the unclouded soul over litc last year. Litc's next choice for ml didn't work out for whatever reason so they went back to minghao had him sign the contract early and officially annouce the cast several months ahead of shooting.

Probably top 5 within his age group. Of the ones you listed, the first 4 have a bigger fandom but he has a bigger fandom than xk. International fans dont really seperate by age so maybe top 10 amongst "idol" actors.

Is anyone else worried about him airing dramas so closely together like this? I know international fans don't really care about ratings in china but that hugely affects what types of drama scripts he gets in the future. Airing dramas back-to-back was great for Song Zuer and Liu Yuning but not for Cheng Lei and Wang Yinglu.

When would this variety show be scheduled? If it's real, I hope he'll be finished shooting his drama and won't have to travel back and forth.

Yes this melon person seems pretty new so the modern drama with Zhang Jingyi is very unreliable. According to meilongguagua on xhs he is supposedly looking at a modern script though.
