I may have watched a different ending because at no point do they explicitly say that mongwoo will stay in Joseon with the king. its a very weird open ending and I don't like that
I highly disagree. It made sense for the who she ended up with. Love is timing and effort
lmao your contradicting yourself here. she went to china twice with Choi Taek and 90% of the time he wasn't there and in this series it represent a couple years. With Jung Hwan however she lived and saw him everyday for those couple years it makes way more sense for her to be with him. the writer just refused to give him a backbone.
reply 1988 could've been one of the greatest drama if they didn't ruin the romance between Deok Sun and Jung Hwan !!! literally the drama was missing the romance aspect so bad just for Deok Sun to end up with Choi Taek in the very last episode and they didn't even have a great chemistry. one of the worst writing mistake ever for me.

i agree but i can't also help but think the producers chose to show the FL in disguise for almost all the scenes.…
don't feel like that's a valid argument especially if you compare her with Park Eun Bin in "the kings affection". Eun bin was a man in 80% of the drama and showed so much versatility while still being believable a lot of the time. here SSK just has watery eyes and lipgloss going on
Just finished episode 1, I was too curious and caved. I think I can get behind the female lead dressing up as…
I said the same thing about the glossy lips like what ??? and she is the only "guy" wearing lipgloss too like might as well tell us everyone is stupid for believing
