iQIYI prepared outdoor displays around Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu to promote the drama https://x.com/chenzheyuanzi/status/1837107103191777320?t=fockHXeRnsvZugMQD3oK4g&s=19…
How is DNAD performing in china, as per my past observations heat index barely move after first three days, it's…
Both dramas are too different from each other, it's not a good comparison. DNAD is TV series so the ratings are the most important, not like Go East which is a web drama which focuses more on online streaming. Heat index is about online streaming which can climb slowly if the drama is truly good. CZY isn't a big traffic star as TJC to help hyping it up at the beginning. His agency is useless, never buys any hotsearch to promote it, not to mention DNAD just started promotion 1 week before broadcast so it basically had no hype (except amongst the fans circle)
Just finished ep 4 and 5 and the first thing i wanna say is CZY is too handsome that it makes people angry πππ And it's getting worse for me who couldn't concentrate on the plot because i was too busy staring at his gorgeous face and expressions. That why it took a long time for me to finish an episode because i kept repeating to catch what he was saying πππ
Omg same!! CZY and his eyes! They do so much talking.. His ability to shine even in scenes with senior actors…
Yess... also very flexible, very real. CZY's ability to give lives to characters is truly amazing! He makes me believe in that character the first time he appears π Very natural acting! Also it's so hilarious LSB seems to know everyone in Shanghai and can start conversations at anytime with them lol! 'Shanghai-know-it all indeed!π
Lin Shao Bai is so much like Xiao Yu'er. He is smart and scheming. He sees the world in gray. Has similar vibes.…
LSB is indeed the modern version of Xiao Yuer. But his acting has improved so much since then, especially in emotional scenes, lines delivery and eyes acting!
In addition, the scenes that impressed me the most: - The part where LSB was riding a bicycle while observing the people's situation at that time, his eyes were sad and helpless because he was just a small policeman, unable to change the situation, only able to protect himself. - The part where LSB was forced to shoot people from the Communist Party. CZY's acting in this part was particularly so so great, there was no dialogue but it completely portrayed the state of having a gun pointed at his head and being pressured to do something he didn't want to do. His eyes acting were so immersive. - The emotional scenes and heart-to-heart talk with XW after coming out of the police station π₯Ί. This pair is gonna be the death of me when they turn against each other π. - All the scenes of LSB and LZY's confrontation π - All the comedy parts. ISTG CZY is so gifted at comedy! - The part where LSB and LZY was talking on the bus. LZY said to LSB, "That's not restoration. That's a rebirth". That's a very nice contrast to the beginning part where LSB was riding the bicycle. - The part where the two of them went to the Ghost Hand Luo San's house, LZY told him to go in first. Once again, I have to praise his acting skill, there was no dialogue but every gesture and facial expression showing his reluctant was so interesting and comedic to me π
I can only remember that much now, there are actually more small details. All the actors were so so great. In general, as a fan of CZY's acting, DNAD is an unexpected joy for me, I didn't think the drama would be so good and the development of LSB's character would be so interesting. Thank you CZY for spending 4-5 months waiting to act in this drama because this is a worthy role. A very dedicated drama crew and talented seniors are what CZY deserves after 8 years of hard work, constantly striving to improve himself. π
Before watching the drama, I heard about the screenwriter's reputation through War of Faith, but after watching it, I found that both the screenwriter and the director are very good! Screenwriter knows how to insert very good details to develop the characters further later, and I heard that the director was only an assistant director before, this is the first drama he was the main director of, but I found the angle setting very good and the transitions were smooth. The opening scene when LSB was walking in the alley, I don't know if anyone noticed that there was a rather long one shot, which required close coordination between the actors and the cameraman, the director did that part very smoothly, following the male lead's perspective, creating a very close and realistic scene of life in a small alley in Shanghai at that time.
I finished watching 3 episodes yesterday and it was so amazing that i rewatched several times, and his face plus expressions were so handsome and interesting that sometimes i couldn't focus on the subs, just keep staring at him in awe lol! It's a drama that's worth waiting for! Thank you CZY for choosing this script! π
