You are not a Fan of Song weilong!! this is why weilong fans want nothing to do with that guy, yall always bringing…
Omg are you serious? There is nothing wrong with SWL.. sometimes some actor have great chemistry with other actors.. or may be its because the series was more focussed on emotions of SML.
The lack of chemistry between FL and ML isn’t due to the actors, it’s due to the writing. Like you said, the…
That’s fair, and I agree. The issue was more with the writing and narrative focus than the actors themselves. The story spent so much time building angst around the SML–FL dynamic that the ML–FL relationship didn’t get enough space to naturally develop on screen. With better writing balance, the chemistry would have landed differently.
Even in the princess royal, there was so much screentime and story around SML, but still the chemistry between ML and FL pulled off..
Omg for the love of god, please stop bringing zhang ling he into this. Every time someone brings him up, they…
I’m really not trying to start comparisons or fan wars. I even said I’m a fan of Song Weilong. Mentioning another actor wasn’t about putting him down - it was just a hypothetical about on-screen chemistry, not talent or worth. I agree both are good actors, and people can appreciate one without discrediting the other. This was just my personal viewing experience of the drama, nothing more.
In my brain, I was comparing this with the princess royal where also SML had got a lot screentime and story telling, but still the chemistry between ML and FL pulled off.
I finished the show - basically binge-watched it, though I skipped quite a bit.
I honestly felt the FL had more chemistry with the SML than with the ML. Maybe if the ML had been played by Zhang Linghe, it might have worked better. I’m a fan of Song Weilong, but the chemistry felt lacking because the primary emotional focus stayed on the SML for most of the show.
I think the drama really did the SML dirty. Yes, he had his prejudices against the FL, but he genuinely loved her. He was a coward - overly righteous and more willing to trust nonsensical people than his own heart. Maybe that was his punishment: losing her affection. Late affection is cheaper than grass.
The ML also had his prejudices against the FL, but the key difference was that he trusted his heart. Even after believing he was betrayed by her following his accident (which turned out to be a complete lie, since she was never informed and knew nothing about it), he still trusted his feelings. He saw her hardworking nature with his own eyes and built a beautiful life with her.
Overall, I feel the drama would have been much better if it had focused more on the FL’s relationship with the ML rather than her prolonged past entanglement with the SML. That said, I loved the FL’s bond with her brother, and the ending was super cute.
Just wanted to say that Jingyan was Gen Z Emperor.. he nailed the character.. slayed the 2nd half of the series.. the second half was only enjoyable because of his and princess story.
There is no need to fight or create a fan war.
