Idk why people are so disappointed with their characters because in this series they are meant to be like this.

Well- the reason you don't see romance because they are busy most of the time working on solving the case. It's a slowburn romance. Also the romance is secondary I will say because the focus is on the murder mystery. Which I personally love. However I'm sure that the romance will develop in the upcoming episodes.
