So far it's the same. I think the intensity will remain the same but somethings then and there will be changed. Like for example, when little Jane saw the American I'D of Big Jane and realized that Big Jane is 27 years old just like Put had told him, he immediately confronted Big Jane about it. But in the novel, he doesn't, he got scared so he didn't ask Big Jane about it. He even told Put about it and cried and little Jane tried avoiding big Jane but he eventually cornered little jane about it (omfg his line was so chillingly sweet. It was "Darling.... Since when did I became someone you hide from..?"
and they had their first big argument.
