I'm quite confused with that person who's guiding Yizhong, that Mr. Huang. I'm not sure where he came from or maybe I wasn't focused enough. Is he a real person or he's just Yizhong's imagination? (Maybe he's having mental issues just to cope up with the stress 'cause if I were him I won't be able to handle things with a sane mind)
Definitely not. GYZ iz the weakest male lead among all spies that i ever watched in republican drama. Very weak…
Which makes it realistic, you can't always outsmart your enemies esp that they're also trained spies. While gyz's making plans his enemies were also doing something to counter that which is very true in reality.
I think the Japanese were the common enemy across the board and getting rid of them was a common goal. But they…
Exactly, Chinese people are doing things with different interests on the line. Some for power and money and some are genuinely doing things for the best interest of the people. That's why there are those who appear to be working for the Japanese but they might also work for the CPC. Best example would be Zhou Zhifei, idk I just feel like he'll be doing something I'd be happy about, I just don't fully see him as a villain yet, he's giving off the vibes of someone secretly working for the CPC.
I think that Mr. Li is working against the Japanese. They're agents, I feel like the bigger picture is that these Chinese agents have the same goal, they're enemies on the surface but their organizations are allies. Only those in high positions in their respective orgs knows the real deal and the others are just pawns. It's just that I feel like everyone's doing their roles really well may it be an ally or enemy. In short let's kick those Japanese asses out of China 😆
The title speaks a lot. When the series started I was like "he had a loving family, a special someone and good friends/relatives, how come the title sounds so sad" not until ep11 that I finally can tell it's gonna be a lonely road ahead for Yizhong. I think I know what to expect for the ending. It's suffocating to watch Republican series (but I still do watch, I guess I love giving myself a hard time). I'd be posting my hinanakit from time to time to relieve some stress 😆
I'm expecting a bitter ending for this series 'cause republican era is very chaotic and heroes during those times ain't immortal, usually this type of dramas are very realistic, not all plan will work, the leads won't always outsmart the enemies, this is pretty much similar to Liu Yuning's Heroes. I'm enjoying it though I had to pause for a while and breathe 'cause it's suffocating but this is my cup of tea. I hope this won't disappoint me.
It took me 3 eps to notice that the main lead was not Hu Yixuan!!! I thought it's hyx but it's tian xiwei? My eyes playing tricks on me? they look so similar
I'm more frustrated that her character is tolerated. I understand it's all bout the culture etc but the family…
They did let her be because they knew their mother did that thinking about their future (which is a toxic mindset 'cause she's controlling and suffocating). They did because considering the effort in raising her kids and being a mom they thought tolerating her ways is the least thing they can do. (Until that set up is no longer tolerable.) This problem was actually fixed. This was the whole point of the drama, the difference in expressing their love and care and the importance of communication and respect.
This is the first drama of zlh that I've watched and so far I'm loving it. It felt so refreshing to see linghe in a drama, I'm used to seeing him on reality and variety shows so seeing him act feels so good.
I get it, her mother is annoying but her character development is amazing (I'm currently on EP 32). Very realistic. The situation is actually very common which is why it is relatable. It's like watching daily family problems that is likely to happen to your family and then slowly getting fixed. The series is not the type of series that everyone would enjoy.
Edit: I'm currently at the 3rd to the last EP and it is so realistic. Her mom crying looking at the pictures of her parents shows that our mom has that inner child that would still long for their parents. Like the lyrics of a song "my mom needs her mom too".
