As a big fan of Cp First Khao, I was really looking forward to this series ever since the trailer was released.
Despite promising myself never to watch an ongoing show again, I couldn’t help but tune in every Wednesday. I enjoyed the first two or three episodes. As always, First and Khao’s acting never disappoints, and the dynamic between Fadel and Style was entertaining.
But everything started falling apart after the fourth episode, I guess. It felt like everyone—the audience, the actors, the screenwriters—had forgotten that this was supposed to be a story about two hitmen and a narc. Instead, it seemed like that premise was just an excuse for the two couples to flirt, be lovey-dovey, fight, and break up.
I usually don’t mind cute and romantic scenes, but in this case, I expected more action, more development regarding their jobs, and more background on "Mother."
The four main characters are complex, and their relationships are intricate. Thankfully, the actors portrayed them well—except for Dunk. (I love you, Dunk, but you really need to improve your acting skills.)
By the eighth episode, I had completely lost interest and dropped the show.
I picked it up again on Friday night, this time with a different mindset: just watching for the romantic moments. That made the show more bearable, but I couldn’t unsee how bad the action scenes were and how weak the plot was.
Many of us want GMMTV to move away from their usual university/high school plots, but the results just aren’t there. I felt the same disappointment I had after Kidnap
Cute and conforting story. What I learned after almost two years in BL, is that everyone have different taste. If you want to watch a cute couple without too much drama, go for this one. And one other good thing with this one, the plots, the two leads back stories, their choices everything is coherent. One is naive, had some deep pain, and the other side is used to bear everything on his shoulder. Like how Lui Li at the end fight for their relation and love the You're mine cameo.
I never hate a character the way I hate Meng Meng seriously. What she did is not only wrong but the next day she even expect they would tell her all the details, plus she never understood what she did wrong even if she apologized. 🙄
I finally finish the serie, after being warned by everyone that the ending is traumatizing. But I'm still shocked. I thought at the 16th episode that may be Xi Gu will die, but I hoped I was wrong. And then they put all the dead flag in the 17-18th episode. They made us loving this couple, just to take it away at the end. However, I don't agree with people who said the ending was unnecessary.
I found out this series the 24 December when I couldn't sleep and I knew from the start it would be good. First, it's easy to fail an heavy theme like the euthanasia by just simplifying it with the pain of the patient and the moral of killing someone. But through the 8 episodes they show each side of the situation: how it's tiring physically and financially the family until they ended up being insensitive, how desperate some members to save their relatives despite it means more pains, how the disease took all dignity to the patient, because at the end of the day, they couldn't do anything and depend to people around them, when even their last wish are not fulfilled. The lack of physical interaction between the two male lead didn't bother me as it a part of their story. Dr Kan tried multiple time to get close to Wan but couldn't because there are always this wall between them. Because Wan didn't fully trust Kan but tried to trust him, and Kan always felt guilty because let's be clear even if he always thinks what he did was the right thing, parts of him felt guilty.
