I think Chokun and KenPaul are the best actors in the series. The way they acted was always on point, and there were some moments that seemed wayyy too natural to be scripted. On the other hand, I think Mick is the less polished actor here which is a shame bc hes the main character. His acting is still stiff and forced sometimes, and I didn’t really feel a strong chemistry between Luke and Mick, the way they interacted screamed bro energy which was so different compared to ChokunAston’s lovey dovey/coupley vibes. But honestly, Mick handles serious and emotional scenes well, it’s just his acting is still lacking during romantic scenes. I also didn’t feel the chemistry between Podd and Papang. They were boring and I kept sighing whenever they appeared on the screen. For me personally, ChokunAston and KenPaul definitely carried this show. But in general, it was actually a cute and enjoyable series.

I think what the director meant by that was, there are feelings involved between them but it’s not the main focus of the story. Also, on Ep 4, they literally had a full on make out session even when it was just a dream. A regular show with no queer elements would never show a scene of two women passionately making out with each other in a bathtub. 🤣

Kim Taeri played a queer role in The Handmaiden, Han Sohee played a queer role in Heavy Snow, Nam Yoonsu also played a queer role in Love in the Big City. All of them are well-known but they can still do it. Friendly Rivalry literally has a kiss scene and a bathtub scene. The director also has confirmed that this show contains a queer element.
