Hoping this drama will get more interesting as we get through the layers of the characters and the story. Despite banxia being scared and terrified she is spontaneous and nurtures her confidence and spirit accordingly. She is definitely courageous to come alone in guanping without any closed ones to find her father and discover the truth and then again fighting with the demons is another level experience for her.
Yan Zijing's suffering is truly brutal since his childhood. People might say that the poison plot was not necessary but it is how the level of cruelty was and showed how inhumane the black dragon bandits' were( well they were called bandits for a reason because they had no mercy) and Yan Zijing unfortunately couldn't escape this. Yan Zijing is truly a gem, his unconditional love and understanding for Duanwu is so precious. Him reminding Duanwu now and then to always go ahead in life and never be stumped by anything or anyone made me realise that how gem of a person he was and he didn't utter a single word from his side about his pain and continued to hide so that Duanwu doesn't feel helpless and watch her beloved in pain and die for which he even wanted to leave( and probably left too by leaving his ring to Duanwu as a token of love and always being their for her from above🥹)On the other hand Duanwu our girl overcame so many inhuman situation and difficulties from the pearl field and finally built her destiny and fate and even changed so many people's destiny and she is an inspirational figure. Her wearing Yan Zijing's ring in the last ep in her last scene made me emotional honestly🥹
