Some said Yueqin killed his brother, but in fact, he didn’t really kill him and just wanted the throne to have power. The brother took out the sword trying to kill him first, and then the father ordered the killing. The brother is acting like a jerk and stupid; if he become a king, Xiyan would fall instantly, or the people would suffer LOL. So this is a different case compared to CP & ML. His kingdom relies on the little fortune-telling magic thing to find the heir. I mean, if he didn’t get that woman to work for him, he would have just been killed, haha. Plus, Xiyan king appears too cold and has no love for any of his sons; it is expected that his son will not love him back and would even manipulate him. Parents love affects the child a lot. Besides obsessing over the girl he likes, SML is still better than CP. It is true that he has a lot of ambition, but he wouldn’t mistreat his people/citizens.
* And if there’s no bad guy in the drama to stir up conflicts between the leads, how boring is it going to be? The last couple of episodes have been quite boring already. My family is actually waiting for scenes that we can’t sit still now lol. Trust me, although a drama with side characters like this isn't very pleasant, they will become more famous when there’s more stuff going on. We will need this tension to keep people engaged and rate the drama well.

They’ve changed a lot in this one compared to the novel. They will do everything to give the main couple the spotlight even if it’s ruining the side characters' images LOL. A lot of drama's purpose is for us to hate most of the side characters and this one is working in that direction quite well. I feel that they will ruin Yueqin's image more in the future; that’s why they cast a pretty known actor with good amount of fans for this. Or else, in China, they would have cursed his character so much LOL. And I noticed that he even have the poorest costumes, it’s good that he is handsome or else the costume would have terribly ruin his visual 😂

Lol, that’s what jealousy in love is. Isn’t he already explaining that it was the CP in the letter? lol Jinghe mentioned Yueqin's name in a bad way to Meilin before, LOL. I’m not going to blame them for being jealous and fighting over someone. Got some rumors from the insider that SML might help them later on and he’ll lose a hand cause of this but he might also made some mistakes along the way since he really loves the girl lol… (these are just rumors so cannot rely on this info)

But I still think that if he hadn’t worked with the CP, the CP would still have tried to kill the beauties in a different way without him knowing, just like the girl who died in yesterday's episode. The emperor is friendly to him but it’s not good to abuse or overuse that because in the emperor’s eyes, he’s still a spy from Xiyan. (Just my opinion…lol)

Why did they couple the princess with the king? He’s like her dad's age; it’s just messed up lol. They should have planned these roles and partnered them up better. For example, Jinghe and Meilin (of course lol). Yueqin and Luomei because these two caught my attention during the promo event plus it would be pretty cute to put a softie with a cold one together. And lastly, the crown prince with the princess. He’s evil and maybe her childish innocent personality might change him lol

I think that pretending to work with the Crown Prince gives Yue Qin an advantage in knowing what the Crown Prince plans. Maybe that was his initiative when he decided to go see CP. I have a feeling that this might help them in the future lol

The CP would have killed the 10 beauties in other ways if he had not used YueQin's hand to do so. YueQin pretends to fall into this and has his own strategy. That was actually a pretty smart move.

It’s nice to see the cast having fun and getting along so well 😍 and wow… ML and SML is like bro outside. I heard they went on a trip to Korea together after filming ended. And our FL is having a baby, wondering if it will be a baby boy or girl… how cute lol

The frame was resolved as he explained everything in his letter to the FL. In the end, he just wants to protect his Xiyan people. Ahh, that's not bad, although I want a stronger move from him in the future. Being the only 20s male in the leading casts was quite captivating. If he play the manipulator, it would have been much cooler lol

The SML actor is a pretty cool and funny guy outside of the play. If he was able to portray a crazy obsession with aggressiveness in love like his "character description," that means he did his job correctly, being able to perform the character's traits that persuaded the audience to believe it. I also feel that he might be the show's main antagonist and not the Crown Prince based on their drama promotion event in China. I feel that this character adds uniqueness to the drama. This actor fandom is pretty great in China, and they support this drama a lot. And it’s good to see that.
UPDATE: Never mind, I take back about SML being the main antagonist; he could be on the nice side, but he might look evil and use strategy to help the people he cares about. Although I secretly hope that he’s one of the bad guy so the drama would be more intense lol

Lol agree. I feel the casting for male characters is quite remarkable. Boron is in his late 40s and still looks so young. Xueyi looks very handsome at the age of 30s. And Wenjun is also super handsome in his late 20s. It’s kinda like they cast a different or big age gap between the male actors for this drama. 40s, 30s, 20s 😂

Can’t wait to see Yueqin turn dark. More madness is more intense in this drama. Side characters are important in the drama; they add tension and twist scenes, which make everything more suspenseful and create intensity before everything gets resolved. I like that they also added the female general. Most popular dramas have complex plots and characters. An easy or simple play won’t go anywhere. We all know that ML and FL will end up together, which is great, but other characters will add extra colors to the plot. Without them, no one will stir up the central conflict. I haven’t seen any drama with just 2 characters anyway lol, but overall, this drama is worth trying out.

I’m coming back here after realizing that the Yueqin actor BWJ is a male lead in a bunch of other dramas. It stated on the drama's official Weibo that he is special-starring in this drama. So is he like a guest role? Anyway, his other dramas showcase his beauty and talent more. ALL the characters in this drama are wild and weird. Maybe that’s what drives this drama to be awesome and unique!! 😍 I’m not even gonna blame any character for their traits cause all of them seem to have problems somehow but that’s what I like. The craziness and obsession are so interesting.

Indeed he is… starting to like him now after checking out his other dramas. Sweet Teeth, Warm on a cold night, and Link click looks good 💕💕 but I will watch Sweet Taichi first since he look like a domineering college boy who will teach his love interest karate lol

All the characters are doing great jobs. It was an excellent play with a ton of good-looking actors and actresses. However, I was a bit taken away by the Xiyan’s sibling. Yueqin (BWJ) and Zigu (HRY) look so cute together and have wonderful chemistry. SML is so gentle, handsome, and adorable. Same with the princess too. Wish there are more scenes of them 😍
ML and FL are fantastic together. And I hope that if the storyline has some twist that the Xiyan siblings are not biological siblings and made them end up together, it would have been extra great. Cause rn I feel bad for SML pure unrequited love lol
