Compared to other historical dramas like RenJia's L&C, which only got a 6.6, this drama is worse. Why did it get an 8.6 here? Could it be because of the large number of teenage actors in this drama? Or is it something by design?
ML, has a mental disorder that makes him afraid of having a serious relationship with a woman (although the past events that cause it are not strong enough to be the cause). The model of a childish romantic relationship. Interspersed with comedic situations. A stark contrast to the actions of the Antagonist who is serious and smart, continuing to strategize to take over the company. And worse, the casting of ML/FL is very inappropriate, too old for a childish romance.
This is an idealistic and egotistical work. The author doesn't care whether his work is understood by his audience. I, too, failed to understand this drama. FL's performance is also terrible, she often seems like an idiot. It's been a tiring 15 episodes. By the way, in episode 15, in the final minutes, who is the man FL sleeps with? It doesn't seem to be Yu You or Yuming.
I miss dramas like this. The story of someone's struggle from "zero to hero." CX is perfect for playing the innocent, determined, and intelligent GPY. Perhaps there's one thing missing from GPY's character: to be able to overcome all the challenges of that era, he should have been a martial arts expert. That's what's missing.
I love the story of this series, the details are great. But there's a casting flaw here, why is the handsome (fourth) Prince paired with a dwarf woman? I have to skip every time she appears
At first, I expected this to be a great show, bringing together the two "grade A" Main Roles, Ren Jia & Peng Xiao. But unfortunately, the storyline turned out to be bad, unfocused, and the details of the story were haphazard. Maybe this is because of the source script (the novel). The title of the novel is My Empress, Love & Crown. But the intimacy/romance part between the two Main Roles was neglected, even emphasizing too much of their misunderstandings. To the point where it felt strange that FL suddenly got pregnant twice. And, the exposure of the Second ML's good/romantic activities was too excessive, so I couldn't believe he betrayed the ML.
Up to episode 20, the King is looking weaker and weaker, from all sides. And the Queen, whom the King keeps sacrificing himself for, still hasn't emerged from the sea of misunderstandings. Even though RJL & PXR are my favorites, I don't like this storyline. ML should focus more on his kingdom, have children with other women immediately, and not be shackled by love.
Peng XR always acts well in all her projects. But why do some of her dramas have similar storylines, namely misunderstandings (which are exaggerated to be miscommunication) in a couple's relationship?
There are 2 bad characters that the writer of this story created for Jumong, which should not happen in a Drama project of this size. 1. Jumong is often too slow to respond/express his thoughts so that he seems less intelligent even though it is impossible to be the character of a great hero of a nation. 2. Jumong seems as a cold man towards women, it disturbs my common sense. He is a perfect man with 2 perfect wives, why are there no intimate scenes?
I started to lose my enthusiasm for this drama after learning that ML ultimately focused more on his love life than avenging his mother's death, caring for his sister, and upholding justice in his kingdom, while still allowing the empress's clan to rule. He should have been the King.
There are 2 great Main Roles in this series, even the Support Roles are also great, getting a score of 8.0 is certainly not satisfactory. Zhao, I hope all your hardships will pass quickly, so I can see you again in your upcoming series, Zhao....I always miss you... so much.
For ML roles, I keep waiting for ZWY, ZLH, SWL, WC, RJL, CY, BJT, LHY, ZYC, LW or YY, but why do these bad ones always come up, RC? There's something wrong with the casting management in Chinese dramas.
To ZYK (FL): You are a perfect, beautiful, and graceful woman. Never mind the 7.3 above, you deserve a 9.0 for me. I'm always looking forward to your future dramas.
Do Won = 4.5/10 ....
