I’d like to believe they initially promoted it as a genuine thriller, rather than just an erotic thriller, thinking that might help secure early weekend bookings. When that didn’t work, the cast started discussing the explicit scenes in interviews and press conferences, which seems like the easiest way to promote it at that point. While it might seem a bit odd, that's likely the only option left for them. It would have been simpler to promote it as an adult erotic thriller from the start.

Well firstly mild bed scenes doesn't even begin to describe it. Secondly probably the show you're talking about doesn't even require those as its a different genre.

This has got to be the most confusing marketing strategy for any Korean erotic film, let alone one directed by Kim Dae Woo. They released soft posters and a very mild first trailer, prompting people to assume it might be a light adaptation after all. While the second trailer was a bit more intense, this is probably the only Korean erotic film to have not released any adult trailer to go with it. It seems like they were confused about whether to promote it as an erotic thriller or just a thriller. I wonder what stopped them from promoting it as such—maybe the goal was to surprise or shock the audience with the explicit scenes. Funnily enough, they chose the November 20th release date to avoid competition, only for Wicked to come and dominate, with Moana following a week later. It’s definitely not going to be easy for them to do good business at local cinemas.

I’m aware that this was commissioned in 2021 and shot before Ji Hyun became prominent after appearing in Reborn Rich. She may have agreed to the role because her career wasn’t moving in the direction she wanted, though in an interview, she stated that she might have taken the role regardless of the timing.

She was fantastic in A Shop for killers. Looking forward to seeing her in more prominent roles.

Well, I guess i am gonna mark this as spoiler. Looking at few clips online I wonder why they didn't promoted it as a full blown erotic thriller. Don't think any other mainstream actresses would come close to replicating what ji hyun has done here. All the posters are soft.

It's great to see the film maintaining strong performance heading into its third full weekend, despite the release of multiple big titles. The word of mouth seems to be really positive. Although an online release still feels a bit far off, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it.

The initial trailer felt like it was leaning more on the thriller aspect, but the second trailer confirmed that it’s not going to be a lighter remake. Park Ji Hyun is probably entering a space where there’s little competition for mainstream actresses doing nude scenes, unlike Kim Go Eun, Lim Ji Yeon, or Kim Tae Ri, who were rookie actresses at the time.

It’s funny that they promoted it as a thriller until the last week, where suddenly interviews were all about Park Ji Hyun’s bold exposure, as if that was their main selling point.

Either way, the director would have likely cast a rookie actress for the role. Good luck to Park Ji Hyun, and I hope it goes well for her.
