The FL in that drama is supposed to be part of laid-back generation without any ambitions which is why she acts that way in the very beginning. And her not wanting anything is why ML allows her to be close to him — she’s literally the only person in that world who doesn’t want anything from him (almost everyone wants to kill him). There are mysteries around the character FL uses as a body, FL progressively becomes more & more powerful (dual cultivation!). Just HOW powerful she becomes and what happens would be a spoiler, but definitely give it a few more episodes ☺️
P.S. “Love Between Fairy and Devil” is what many people compare WDBTD’s couple/relationship to. It has similar vibes :)

She thinks ML destroyed GMD, so it’s logical for her to assume she started to get better after visiting Bo clan house and then got even better after drinking SL’s heart blood.

He has only one negative trait — he wants to resolve everything by killing 🤣

She think it was a combination of visit to Bo clan place (because she started to get better after that and before drinking SL’s blood) and drinking SL’s heart blood. She doesn’t suspect ML gave GMD to her in a pancake 🥞 because she’s sure that he destroyed it.

I think he has to remove it to put her real name on there. But we all know it’s going to be a HE, so no worries 😉

I think all dramas try to cast leads that would have good chemistry. But what makes “When Destiny…” so unusual is the amount of intimacy. It makes you wonder why more dramas don’t do it more often (clearly, censorship doesn’t have a limit on amount of kissing 😘).

C-dramas actually are spoiling people with fast releases. Many other countries do 1 episode per week (like Japan, Philippines, even the U.S.). Korea does 2 episodes a week for high-profile dramas. So let’s be a little patient ☺️

The lead couple is very nice together!

Have you watched “When Destiny Brings the Demon” yet? That drama probably set a record for most kissing/makeout scenes ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥(if not all-time, then certainly for 2025). The Dual Cultivation guide that FL in this drama is reading — the couple form WDBtD probably wrote that book because they did it A LOT 🫣

This is a very valuable lesson to learn from this drama — do good things NOT because you want someone to owe you a favor (be indebted to you, like you, love you, etc.), but because it’s a good thing to do. Especially in relationships — ML isn’t flaunting what he’d done for FL and not even trying to force her to return to him. He’s giving her space to do the things she must do before they can re-evaluate their relationship.

We all want great ratings for our favorite dramas, but MDL ratings are subject to manipulation (especially from groups who make multiple accounts to downvote/upvote certain dramas or actors). So even if this doesn’t get to 8.9 like you hope, don’t worry. Chinese entertainment industry doesn’t care about MDL ratings, so as long as a drama is popular using metrics used by platforms/creators/financiers, it’s all good. This one hit 10000 heat index recently so it’s fair to say it’s doing very well ☺️

It’s actually not nearly as bad as some other dramas. Well, at least, it’s not as annoying because things get resolved quickly. For example, second season of Flourished Peony (In the Name of Blossom) had so many annoying tropes (for example, about a hairpin) which caused misunderstandings and drove viewers mad 😠

They need to do a collab with a pancake brand or something 🥺

I think his father is the ultimate bad guy, but he might turn to the dark side after being rejected.
