During the filming of The Northward Journey, Bai Lu had to wear a steel brace and a wig. Her skin was darkened with makeup, and alcohol-based cosmetics were applied to her face. While many actresses might have hesitated due to the discomfort, Bai Lu remained highly cooperative and never resisted the process.
Wearing a steel brace is extremely uncomfortable—I have worn one myself, and it can be abrasive to the mouth, even causing cuts. Yet, despite the discomfort, Bai Lu insisted on wearing it for every scene. Even during breaks, she chose to keep it on to ensure she adapted to the fit.
I deeply admire Bai Lu's professionalism and dedication. Her support for our work meant a lot to us. To recognize her efforts, the entire makeup and hair team presented Bai Mengyan with a special banner upon completing the filming, honoring her hard work and commitment.
