well I can't decide if it was lucky or his skills personally, coz the plot just kept getting too engaging i forgot about that... there were times when i too felt like "wtf is this dude doing here?"😭 some made sense even if little coz of plot while some made no sense which was only once in later eps that even now doesn't makes sense to me... I saw BTS clip of that moment and xiao zhan's interviews later... even the actor was aware how reckless zang hai is that if he actually knew combat skills he would have attacked marquis already but would have let himself get killed in his recklessness 💀 haha anyways i do hope you find it enjoyable in your own taste too

see again i think we are losing the plot (i want to keep this conversation healthy in every way not to be protective over the character or anything) all the knowledge you mentioned that was in him since start was geomancy... he is still a genius at that he is literally going through those tombs and making it alive... i called him smart for that but only geomancy can't help you at taking revenge... he is not taught to plan out how to take his revenge. the masters themselves mentioned he was not ready yet when he was sent to the city.😭 when you will move with the story line, you will see he is reckless too at one point so many of my friends also realised he didn't want to live too (which is kinda a spoiler if you will be able to catch that ) as i said he is basically putting himself in the game whether to make it alive or die he is indeed flawed character it's like he is growing too while experiencing all of these in real time again again he is not the typical character of revenge dramas where he can execute his plans as perfectly... the c-netz have been pointing that out for so many days now. the producers and directors themselves said "zang hai while in his way of revenge fails too, multiple times" to show his growth... the story has it's flaw but i guess we have different way of looking at it

I am really happy how Legend of Zang hai turned out I am happy Xiao Zhan is not only getting new fans, but also a new wave of recognition for his acting. I hope after this he gets more such great directors and teams to work with who respect his acting more than his popularity. He really deserves more such good scripts and stories.
