I always love this plot of two bff's falling in love with two bff's. Plus the best part of this series is all the four charcters are interesting and strong. No one is pitiful and weak. Chai Jidan is really good at writing strong MC who go toe to toe with ML's.

Looking at all these comments, seems none of them have read danmei. Chi Cheng is a snowflake compared to other ML's. If it triggers you that much, don't watch it. Yes, she never got to know. In her illness period , mostly Chi took care of her. It's really a bitter sweet scene where she remembers who Chi is and not WSW when she's really sick. Though WSW will introduce Chi Cheng as his wifey to his parents at their gravestone by burning his picture ( chinese tradition). Its a really good funny+emotional scene.

No he just says hurtful things like you deserve all the pain for fooling others etc. to make WSW cry as he didn't cry at the funeral. He had just gone numb. Chi Cheng is utterly hopeless in love, this fool.

WSW didn't have to do anything for forgiveness, Chi is king of Simps.
So happy that they have sketched out more scenes of Jiang Xiao Shuai and Guo Cheng Yu together compared to novel. I love this director and production. Hope they make more danmei adaptation in the future.

Yes they end up together, their story is really sweet. Guo initially approached Shuai just to mess with him but later fell in love. He cooks for him, buys him houses, protects him from his psychotic ex, helps to free the burden in his heart : allowing Shuai to smile freely.

After they get together and like Guo Chengyu said : whatever happened, happened for good. This reveal, breaking up and eventually getting back together actually strengthens their relationship.
