I read your comment and didn’t notice until Episode 3 and then I realised your assumption is spot on. The glasses and minion mannerisms threw me but in this episode without the glasses (and despite the continued grovelling which is unlike the usual roles that KH portrays), I saw the resemblance. He does look like Kang Hangul!
So pleased that Dai Gao Zheng is in this major production. He makes a good villain but I do prefer him as a romantic lead. Hopefully he can get a ml role in a major series.

People seem to have forgotten the encounter when she was mistakenly arrested after the attempted assassination and she was tortured. Of course, her bias against him would be hard to let go due to her treatment then. That scene when she throws the money at him stressed how winning her over would be difficult and then he ruins any progress in their relationship by forcing himself on her. Seeing her change of attitude in these current episodes after he returns from war shows how she is ready to understand him more. Bo Ren is becoming quite a Cupid in this progress in YCX and YPJ’s relationship!! I’m loving his character.

Apart from Ryan Ren, the first thing that attracted me to this series is the OST. I tried Shazam but none of the songs were recognised which is very disappointing. Not on Spotify as well. As this is a fairly new release, given time, hopefully will be able to eventually access these songs.
The series was very interesting with all the dynamics and politics involved in the high flying and stressful consultancy world. I enjoyed it very much and loved the stories of not just the ml and fl but the other two couples as well. It’s not a rom com so my expectations of physical intimacy aspects of the relationships was not a priority to be overtly portrayed. As far as the main leads their relationship did show their closeness and understanding and there are some cute moments that revealed their romantic connection. I do think the rating is too low. I gave it a 10 because the series develops well with clever dialogue and strong characterisations. The production is sophisticated and slick. The fl’s outfits as well as all the ladies’ outfits were so appropriate to their age and business status. Very contemporary and stylish.

Thank you for such an informative post. I have only just developed an appreciation of Thai dramas having seen a dozen or so recently. As a Westerner I am loving the Asian film and television industry and finding the stories so unique and embracing the excellent productions with most skilful and charismatic actors and actresses.
This was such a good watch especially the message about acceptance and inclusiveness. Film and Jam are two of my favourite Thai actors. Together with Tongtong, this series was outstanding due to their portrayal of their characters, Tian, Jiu and Yang. Loved the relationship between Tian and Yang especially Yang’s support for Tian despite his mother’s attitude and the father’s dismissal of him. No jealousy here between these half siblings, just honest and loving relationship. Pin was so lovely and always acted with an open heart and so pivotal in the series due to her loving and generous nature. The series excelled in developing the characters and particularly liked the growth of Chan. At first, she was in the villain category (she was always so mean to Nuan whose demise I felt was unnecessary!) but how she handled the crisis and became more accepting and indeed brave was one of the highlights for me. I felt no sympathy for Li and Jia (different role to the one in Sunset in Winter) and was glad what happened to them. Great actresses both of them. The scene that got me the most emotional was the family table gathering in the last episode. The actress who played Mud reminded me of the Korean actress Park Min Young. Just a few plot holes but not enough to not score this series 10/10. For example, was there no retaliation or retribution towards the Song family by the Japanese since many of their soldiers were killed? Also kudos to the costume department. The clothes were most suitable for the era. The ladies’ styles were gorgeous especially Li, Chan and Pin’s. They had a different dress for every scene they were in (another questioning of the production, is how come Li and Chan were dressed very well and a different outfit for every scene when they were in hiding? Despite this, a detail that I overlooked because basically the storyline and themes of this series was so good!) Such a great series with most profound dialogue to embrace the important message of the series-rainbow at the end topped its appeal.
Just finished watching on Viki! It is an entertaining series and I enjoyed watching. All the cast including the villains were terrific. Loved the main couple and pleased other characters also had romantic connections. The actors did a great job. I’m beginning to discover Thai dramas which I have enjoyed watching and recognising several actors in this from other series that I have seen.
