Maybe you can share more about Ma Qiuyuan for other watchers to learn about. I believe she will be great in her…
Well, I don't know much about her, besides the fact that she was great in "Queen of Battlefield" (the one you linked) and "Crown of Shadows- The Empress's Revenge" (this one should have Part 2 in the future and doesn't even have MDL profile), playing two very strong Female Leads in both of them, and from my limited understanding of acting, she really deserves better than Microdramas.
Also, her character in "Queen of Battlefield" is definitely one of my favourites in the "female badass lead" category, as she perfectly blends Martial Arts skills for physical confrontations and intelligence, along with eloquence, to deal with her opponents in verbal battles. Her scheming and revenge in "Crown of Shadows" was great as well, plus she looked sexier than I expected in coquettish/romance scenes.
There is one more Palace microdrama with her, which looks great, but has a sad ending, so I'm postponing it a bit. But probably my curiosity will make me watch it as well. And, there is also a Microdrama about the Lion Dancing, which looks kind of unique, but I wasn't able to find a full version so far.
i'm catching up on the episodes and it still astounds me how FL can be so smart in battle strategies but so stupid…
Typically, the main issue for generals in the court is a lack of eloquence, so the scholars and censors can twist their words, even if the generals see the threat coming.
But I agree it doesn't make sense with the FL here - she is eloquent enough and has a good knowledge of battlefield strategy, yet seems quite oblivious to court matters.
Also, I'm still bothered by the fact that she didn't even consider telling Dudu about herself being a real General Feihong when their relationship seemed stable enough, instead of allowing the initiative to be in the opponent's hands.
Lu Songli would never make a mistake like that, I guess, for the foreseeable future, she spoiled me with how a supposedly smart female lead should progress with her decision-making. The same goes for the FL from "Blossom", another impressively smart character.
You should look at the Douban ratings instead. MDL ones are pretty unreliable
I actually was the most bored in 13-16 episodes, after He Yan successfully defended garrison from invaders (of course, getting saved by Dudu at the end), they went with almost exclusively Romance for a bunch of episodes, which was a FF mostly for me.
I don't like final episodes too much either, but at least some more serious things were happening. For example, He Yan had some solid confrontations with the Emperor and Zhu Chan, also Emperor telling Dudu to shut up and stop simping during Court Discussion and allow He Yan to defend herself instead was nice too.
I'm so disappointed in this drama. (And yes, I agree with all who say that the novel was much better).I enjoyed…
I am fresh off watching Blossom, and it is truly a very good Drama. Episodes 1, 5, 19 and the Rebellion at the end are must-see TV, with a re-watch value in a different stratosphere compared to the "ROFG"
1) Yes 2) Same Love Triangle as me and Wang Chu Ran - I want her, she doesn't :( However, unlike me, the 2ML doesn't know his place and tries to mess things up a bit late in the show
I got bored in Episode 2 with their constant fighting and bickering. I also don't know half the time how she can trap him, after it was established in Episode 1 that he is clearly a better fighter.
Looks like I'm dropping it after Episode 5 - two horrible Eunuch running things and threatening to kill everyone every 5 minutes without any obstacles (with crazy Martial Arts skills on top of it), and somehow one of them is supposed to be the ML and in a Romance with the FL. Just don't see any redeeming quality to stay with it.
And that's too bad, as the FL's crossdressing is really good, putting the FL in "ROFG" to shame. The story of the female emperor in disguise is unique enough too.
There are a lot of reasons why I will never forget about the Yanxi Palace. So many great moments and quotes to re-watch, plus... music from this show is constantly re-used in Microdramas :) Is this perfect? Of course not, especially when the writers felt they had to make the FL temporarily dumber to give her opponents a chance against her. But it's hugely entertaining, and possibly the best Idol Drama ever created in Palace settings. Ying vs Yang to the "Empresses in the Palace",
For me, its quite disappointed drama. The main weakness is the plot. The drama is trying to include everything…
After a strong recommendations, I'm watching it right now, but it goes slowly (finished Episode 3 right now) and it's quite boring. I'm thinking, I would be probably dropping it, if not for Wang Chu Ran beauty,
"Is she beautiful" - ML asking in the 1st episode still rings in my head, no idea why he would ask it after seeing her.
Hello.. I’m still on ep 2, and one of the main reasons I started watching was because of the strong FML. But…
Well, it's not easy, because every time ML is strong too, he will always be stronger than FL. And because women are the main target, usually Romance is the focus, and writers feel the ML has to save the FL over and over again to show his Love. Making her look weak in the end...
From the big productions, I think "Who rules the world" was the best one, as the FL was still weaker compared to the ML, but the difference was relatively small. But you probably watched it.
"Qingchuan's Veil of Vengeance" has a very powerful FL, and because the ML was her student, writers could avoid a trope of him saving her. But they found different tropes to exploit :). "Oh my General" was a big production with the weak ML, so the FL was able to be very strong, and miraculously, didn't need to be saved. But it was very, very long with a lot of unnecessary filler.
If you watch microdramas, "Queen of the Battlefield" has an excellent and well-written female lead, with a lot of fighting skills, who is also smart and cunning. Plus, the ML, despite being strong, allows her to do stuff on her own.
There are also other microdramas, featuring badass female leads, that are written better than in bigger productions. However, microdramas come with their own limitations, so not everyone can adjust.
I just want to know one thing does chinese writers think if they wrote a drama without any misunderstanding or…
Yes,
They also think that everyone would hate if the FL would be strong/badass enough to not get saved by the ML over and over and over again, like some kind of Damsel in Distress.
Also, her character in "Queen of Battlefield" is definitely one of my favourites in the "female badass lead" category, as she perfectly blends Martial Arts skills for physical confrontations and intelligence, along with eloquence, to deal with her opponents in verbal battles.

I've dropped it after Episode 5, following another dumb thing done by the FL.
I don't like final episodes too much either, but at least some more serious things were happening. On the Douban scale, it means an acceptable/watchable show. For comparison, 8.0 or higher would be for truly excellent Dramas.

Ying vs Yang to the "Empresses in the Palace",
Shitshow like this is rated 7.4, lol :).
It's possibly worse than "Justified: City Primaeval", compared to the original Dramas.
I'm thinking, I would be probably dropping it, if not for Wang Chu Ran beauty,
