I'm sure that's not it! It is apparent that he does not enjoy being Dragon Deity at all. He feels burdened and tied down by it. He is sad and depressed all the time. And he has expressed it indirectly to Lu Wuyi too. I think he just wants to be Ji Ling and it's all parts of his plan to manipulate the Queen!

I want a happy ending. Or at least an ending where they are going to be together even if it's in death! I truly hate it when one is left alone while the other dies:(
