novel readers, how much time has passed since the breakup -> Xiao Chen getting married to zhuo lan -> the mother passing away? it wasn’t clear at all whether it was a few weeks or months or years 🥲
I absolutely love the cinematography and color grading. so dark and gritty, so different from GMMTV’s usual style, and exactly what this story deserves. everything felt so artistic and poetic. that one scene where Tonrak and Barth stop the crucifix from falling and their hands touch, the sheer symbolism of that scene!!
Fourth’s acting was as amazing as always! I could feel how conflicted Tonrak was feeling regarding everything. as for Gemini, I could feel Barth’s anger at God, and life in general . when he said “then one day I realized, your God never helped me at all”, I FELT THAT!!
one thing that me and a lot of other people seem to be confused about (mild spoilers ahead …) is that in the beginning the Father says “hard to believe it’s been almost 20 years” when present timeline is 2025 and past timeline starts from 1996.
later on they say something about the ordination being over 10 years away, (ep1 19:05). so I’m guessing maybe the past timeline will go up to 2006-07, and that’s when Father and Barth met for the last time until the time skip? I wonder how all that can fit in just 6 episodes, I hope nothing feels rushed!
so far, this is off to a great start, and I feel like we’re about to witness something extraordinary. can’t wait to see how this unfolds!
PS. ep1 gave me major I Told Sunset About You vibes, and that’s one of my most favorite BLs of all time! I’m wishing that TTH turns out be a masterpiece just like ITSAY🥹
they said 20 years but that was 1996 , also the present is 2016 and not 2026 am i right??
present is 2025. the translation isn’t wrong either, he did say “almost 20 years”.
my guess is the last time they met until the time skip was at the ordination in 2006-07, because in the 1996 timeline Kongdech says “ordination is over 10 years away” (ep1 19:05)
Im sorry can someone explain ep1? i tried to re watch couldnt understand as a Double Delux viewer :p hehe
if i had to explain it linearly (based on my understanding)
in the past, Min is dating Bank (who is now called Sunny). Min’s mother got diagnosed with cancer. to pay for his mother’s treatment, he starts working for the loan shark as a debt collector. when he threatened the debtor with the house deed and hurt the guy’s daughter, the guy got angry and went after Min to his apartment.
Min wasn’t home at that time, so Bank just told the angry guy that Min went outside with his brother. angry guy goes after them and ends up killing the little brother. so, Bank was a catalyst behind the brother’s death, but Min didn’t know about this. Bank also runs away after stealing all the money in Min’s bank account that he saved up for his mother’s treatment. Min’s mother passes away.
years later, he overhears Bank (now a successful actor and goes by the name Sunny) talk about this incident and finds out Bank was the reason why Min’s brother died. now Min wants revenge against Sunny for all the hurt and pain he has caused.
I love revenge stories when they’re done right, and so far it seems like this will be done right.
this is my first time seeing any of these actors. and I’m blown away by how amazing Min’s acting is. I was ready to hate on his character when we started the drama with him holding a knife to an innocent child. but by the time the episode ended, I was rooting for him and ready to fight alongside him😂
Fuaiz as the villain was also amazing. I didn’t even realize at first that he was the same guy that had a past connection with Min until they showed a flashback. it’s safe to say that I will be HATING his character 😂
I absolutely loved the cinematography and the color grading. it’s so gritty and dark, very fitting for the story. I also love the non linear story telling, even though it might feel a bit confusing at first.
so far this is looking VERY PROMISING! idk how I’ll survive the wait for a whole week till the next episode drops!
In this ep he called him Bank, if I'm not mistaken, but see they labelled it as Sunny in the list. His real name…
yeah I just saw the scene where he’s talking about how Sunny caused the brother’s death in the past (ep1 29:24) and realized he’s the past boyfriend! I’m guessing he changed his name from Bank to Sunny after that incident
and your username omg? THURSDAY’S CHILD HAS FAR TO GO!
did he turn out to be as messed up as his father?😭
