I enjoyed this series (I’m glad I was able to binge it, because if Imhad to wait between episodes, I don’t think I would have liked it as much.) I found it cute, I liked the style and energy of it, and though it was flawed, I found it fun. I immediately bought the manga, because isn’t the book always better? I know a lot of people hated Chiaki’s casting, but honestly, I’ve seen so many worse actors in less entertaining BLs, that I just let it slide. Also, AE/Enaga was so fun to look at that it made up for everything. I’d watch this again for fun.
10/10 Where you get best of everythingI have watched many bl/romance drama till now but I was lucky enough to…
It was much more cinematic than most later BLs, especially school-centered BLs. A serious queer series, no fluff involved. You’re correct in saying it set the stage (and bar) for those to follow.
Finally got to this classic. Such a beautiful story of coming of age and self-acceptance. I ugly-cried almost as much as Teh did. (He is the *master* of the ugly-cry. It’s devastating! No pretty tears for him.) Another one to put on the elite 10/10 list.
oh I loved this movie, I could enjoy it since I didn't watch the original but the only thing bothering me was…
part of this is likely because Thai pronouns tend to be really ambiguous. I’m not sure if this leaks over into titles and roles in translation, or if these weird gendered assignments are still just part of the culture. it feels random at times, and other times it doesn’t. I agree it’s annoying and feels a bit “off”at times, especially when the “wife” isn’t particularly effeminate.
From the get-go, I did not like the actor, who plays Sailom. Tee’s looks bother me to the extent that I could…
I sort of feel the same, but I’m hoping it was just poor acting choices, as he played the role too wide-eyed and childlike. I have an issue with actors who do this if they can’t do it well, or it’s not necessary for the character. I oso think his trauma was resolved way too easily.
It’s cute series that moves along quickly. Honestly, though, my favorite thing is that this series is about cute Catholic choir boys in love. They can really kiss, too. 😹
wonderful review. I actually watched this after Burnout Syndrome (One of my favorite series *ever*, even outside BL.) and I was so happy to see that it was of the same caliber. OffGun has become to standard I compare every other acting pair to.
I agree with your assessment as a whole, as well. Thanks for the review !
This is definitely not their best work. Rak is a whiny brat, but I will return to that shower scene repeatedly and without shame. “Woo(f).” Fort’s natural sexiness and Peat’s wholehearted commitment to NC scenes make them one of the hottest couples in BL.
I watched this on a flight to LA from Hong Kong. Pure entertainment, and I loved it! I was excited to find something like this on an airplane, of all places.
Please no SA. At the very least let Peat play a character that isn’t centered around trauma. I just feel terrible…
toxic characters usually have trauma for sure, but Peat’s characters so often are physically/sexually traumatized. Hopefully this time it will all be psychological. lol
lol. love this review. I sped through this so fast I forgot much of it, but now I think I’m going to watch it again, haha. Your review was just as, if not more. entertaining than the drama itself.
I’m almost ashamed of myself.
I agree with your assessment as a whole, as well. Thanks for the review !
